Ok I have managed to make an offline server, but whenever I try to enter it with both windows it kicks the other one out because they are both called "player"
I found two ways to change the offline name. One uses a cmd that edits java and minecraft.jar but I can't use it because I have minecraft portable and java portable.
The other way requires the minecraft coder pack to edit the minecraftapplet.class file in minecraft, jar
I am hopeless with this and cannot edit it myself
Can somebody who knows how to use the coder pack, change the player name in minecraftapplet.class and upload it for me I will be forever grateful and find a way to repay if i can plz
plz this is the only way I can use this splitscreen mod because I do not have a premium minecraft login and must play offline.
freeshiny, I am having a little bit of trouble with my video editing software, so I won't be able to make videos of my LP unless I do it in one go. I doubt I will be able to do that, so I am going to be putting off the LP for a while until I can get my software fixed.
Wow! This is amazing! I can finally play it with my cousin on splitscreen! The only major problems I've found are the inability to leave a bed, respawn, or use creative mode, but other than that, it's great!
The idea of this mod is great, however I seem to have a few problems when playing with a regular wired XBOX 360 controller.
1. I cannot do anything
2. The camera never stops spinning
3. On the rare occasion that it does work, the player has a tendency to always try to look up
If you could get back to me ASAP that would be great.
Regarding the performance issues, I can't really comment on that. I have no significant game design experience, I decompiled the minecraft.jar and threw in the controller support the way it seemed best. It is quite possible that I have introduced sub-optimal performance solutions as I haven't paid much attention to it. I haven't personally experienced any noticeable slowdowns with the mod. Have you tinkered with the "performance" option in video settings? Maybe setting it to Max FPS can help.
@MagikarpLOL123 Are you sure you installed the mod correctly, i.e. replaced all the files? Dead zones and button controls can be changed in options.txt. Many people so far have made the xbox controller work so I'm sure your can work fine too.
Regarding the sudden joypad movements - yes they tend to move by themselves randomly at times. I haven't tackled the issue much, as it's not that easy to debug.
I'm working on a next version of the mod which will bring more stable camera control, fixes for creative inventory and enchantment table and possibly more improvements.
Hi, just wondering: how to make it work with the latest snapshot ? I mean I replaced the minecraft.jar in the bin folder by the snapshot, it runs the snapshot and I can play and everything but joystick doesn't work. (in the "options" file, joy_joy lines disappeared and left only the key_key ones. Same thing when I replace the options file by and older one.)
Any idea, or must I wait the next release of the mod ?
Thanks for your work
What you did there is basically remove the mod. You'd need to copy the classes again to the new minecraft.jar from snapshot, but it would not work anyway. All mods are strictly version dependent, and this one works in 1.2.5 only. To make the mod compatible with newer version of minecraft would require new release of MCP upon which I depend.
This is so much better than split screen. I have 3 monitors connected to my PC and now everyone can have a full screen and we don't have to play in tiny windows. It's still (very) rough around the edges, but this has huge potential. Great work!
Nice mod. Everything is great except when i start playing minecraft after opening it turn the camera and start going to left until I touch the sticks but besides that great mod.

Thanks for all the replies.

Take care.
Edit the options.txt and change the appropriate axis numbers.

Yes, for now you do. I'll make it work when I get some free time to work on it.
