I found a bug that nobody even realized. You can't shift-click items into chests or furnaces using the controller. I don't know if it's just me, though.
It's not implemented, although possible. But how would one perform a "shift click" with a controller? Using the additional button, maybe?
Latest version of this mod seems to work fine, as well as fix the large chest inventory space issue. I love this mod, I've lost track of how many hours me and my brother have played minecraft together now. If you can add in shift clicking somehow, that would be even better. Also, I figure this would help for those who might have the same gamepad as I do, in configuring their setup:
button inputs for Saitek Cyborg Rumble P3600 (It's similar to an xbox 360 controller, and claims to work like one, but hasn't really so far. Still a good gamepad)
You'll have to adjust the Camera and Movement Axis, reversing them in options.txt since the game makes them a little screwy. I.E. Set them to this for this gamepad:
joyCameraAxisX:2
joyCameraAxisY:3
joyMovementAxisX:0
joyMovementAxisY:1
A suggested setup for this gamepad, button-wise:
joy_joy.attack:7
You can alternatively use button B (2) for a run button, sneak toggle, drop, interact, etc if you so desire as well. I prefer having Back (8) as my drop though, since it's not easily mashed and you won't drop your main tool or weapon by accident that way.
I do have a suggestion for shift+click if that's a problem. You could make it so that when you hold the interact button and click with the GUI left or right click, it could shift click instead if that's feasible.
Also another problem that could arise with SMP, although there is a slight work around by having the keyboard player click for the gamepad users.... if someone uses a bed to set their spawn point, but not everyone is sleeping... they're kinda stuck until morning, since they can't push the "leave bed" button. If you can add a function for that or set it so that pressing the interact button also makes the player leave the bed, that'd be awesome also.
Finally, just would like to say thank you again for coming up with this mod. It's a real godsend.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll think of a solution for the shift+click problem, and the issue with leaving the bed will resolve by itself when I add support for navigating menus with the controller.
um, iv'e read through the hole forum looking for a similar problem like mine but couldn't find it so, when i join my world my character looks up and left and walks forward and i can't even get it to stop by looking the opposite way. help please?
Try increasing your deadzone. And check if the axes are correct,
I have a question/task if anyone is up to. In order to make the controls on xbox controller as close to minecraft 360 edition as possible i need to know what the controls on minecraft 360 edition are :). I'm interested not only in button mappings in-game, but also in menus, inventory, multiplayer etc. I'd appreciate it if anyone could provide me with the info.
LT - Use
RT - Action
RB and LB - Cycle trough items (1-9)
Y - Inventory
B - Drop
A - Jump
B - Crafting (Crafting UI)
Upper analog - Move/Run
Lower Analog - Look/Sneak
Start - Pause
Thank you for making this mod! I have relatives come over and we play Minecraft, this makes it so much easier than setting up multiple PC's.
I am having an issue though when using a wireless Xbox 360 controller. After about a minute of play the sensitivity jumps up and the movement speed is much faster. I don't know how to replicate it, it just happens. For the record, it happens with no other mods installed.
Is this different from the camera sensitivity issues you are having when the FPS is unstable? If so, does it happen every time? Do you have any clue on how to reproduce the problem?
Please can you make this compatible with Forge? It has a conflict with Minecraft.class in the net/minecraft/client folder since they both use the same file.

Minecraft doesn't get past the updating screen.all i did was copy & paste the .minecraft folder from "Application Data" to there.
Never mind, excellent mod, you have made local multiplayer 100% EASIER!!

Go to the control panel and see the button numbers. Numbers in minecraft are usually lower by 1.
Try increasing your deadzone. And check if the axes are correct,
What do you mean? Don't you see button numbers for your controller in the Control Panel?
See if the correct ones are set in options.txt
EDIT:
also the url link did not work because its in a code box thingy.
Link Removed
if you would not mind doing me a favor and pressing that little + button? thanks!
Congratulations!
That is one very tiny picture...
Thanks! Glad you like it.
Could you post your options.txt file? And a copy of command window after starting the Minecraft?
Is the controller working correctly in other games?
I haven't seen that error before. Will see what I can do.
Well, lets translate it!

What kind of improvements?
