Yeah compatibility inter-mod compatibility would make this mod useable for me I just can't play vanilla anymore but good work on the mod anyways. I know it can't be easy.
Love this mod. Been using it for a while now, together with my mother and father (yes they play Minecraft :P).
We used to play it on Xbox 360 with them, but managed to talk them into playing on PC using this mod and the content of the PC version vs. the Xbox 360 version as an argument.
Upgraded our server to 1.6.1 yesterday and tried out the new version of the Joypad mod for 1.6.1.
It's great that you fixed the sneak toggle so that it works again, had to use RB on the controller as the sneak key before making it a bit hard to sneak while multitasking, though it was manageable.
All in all the version for 1.6.1 is working great, only got a couple of suggestions for item management (inventory window).
1. In the previous version the icon for the item you were moving would move with you as you moved the "cursor" to where you wanted to place the item. Now the item stays where the mouse cursor is until you've placed the item.
2. The item description of the item you're looking at is at the left side of the item when you're looking at it. Used to be on the right side before I believe, dunno if it's intentional or not.
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you very much for making this mod, love it. My mother and father also told me to say thanks ;-)
The mod works great in both 1.5.2 and 1.6.1. However, some issues:
1. The packed .zip file is packed in such away that requires some additional tweaking for it to work in Magic launcher.
2. You still cannot move the cursor using the controller to select Multiplayer servers and singleplayer worlds. I suspect this is just how minecraft works however.
3. The tool-tips are way too far up left and may be hard to see from a distance.
4. While riding Horses, Boats and Minecarts, It still tells you to press LSHIFT to dismount. It is the sneak button which works in the controller but this could lead to some minor confusion.
5. You cannot access the Horse inventory by pressing the menu button on the controller. For whatever reason, it only detects the keyboard.
6. If the controller disconnects mid-game. Sometimes the game has to be restarted for it to work. The controller must also be turned on or connected before the game launches. This causes a small issue with my wireless Xbox 360 controllers.
7. Changing controllers mid-game doesn't automatically changes the controller until the game is restarted. This should be fixed as it makes having a portable copy not needed as you can just use your normal minecraft copy (or better yet run it many times with magic launcher).
Obliviously, a forge compatible version would be greatly appreciated as it would make getting this mod more worth while. I commend you for the quick update to 1.6.1 and hope you can dish out the 1.6.2 version soon. Keep up the great work !
mod 1.6.1 work to minecraft 1.6.2 ??? plz help me

Greetings to the Minecraft family! I'm glad you're enjoying my mod together. Both issues are known to me, and happened while porting from some earlier version. I plan to fix them when the time allows. Thanks for the heads up, and kind words.

Hi. Thanks for the list of issues. Let me walk through them :).
1. Could you elaborate? What manual tweeks are required?
2. Yeah, I've never got enough time and strength to tackle that one. It's not trivial, although definately possible.
3. It's a regression. I plan to fix it in some forseeable future
4. Good find. Actually, I don't play Minecraft that much anymore, and I havent got to the horses yet :D. I'll take a look into it.
5. See previous answer.
6. Unfortunately I don't think it's easy to change, although I might be wrong. It'd require some time and investigation, but I'll deffinitely put it on my TODO list.
7. Yeah it sucks. I never bothered to do it properly. Might do so in the future.
I'll probably work on 1.6.2 this weekend, and forge is surely a distant possibility. I once had a basic forge version running (just controller input, no configuration and gui stuff) but it only worked from eclipse - when released and run indepedantly it crashed in mysterious ways, and I got tired. But it might be time for a take two
Thanks again for your input, it's very appreciated.

Within the .zip file is another folder. Within this folder is another folder called Minecraft. Magic launcher doesn't detect mods this way. All the stuff within the Minecraft folder has to be within' the root of the .zip for it to work with Magic launcher. Hopefully, I explained it good enough.
The X button opens doors, chest, crafting tables, furnaces, dispensers, hoppers etc. LT works as-well. But you cannot interact with buttons and beds (perhaps levers too, not sure about brewing stands) with the X button. This causes some confusion with some of my friends when playing split-screen with the Xbox 360 Controller.
You also cannot un-pause the game again by pressing start. You have to manually press the back to game button with the D-pad and A button.
seeing as easy mine launcher doesn't work with 1.6+ does anyone know how to launch the game with a shortcut bypassing the launcher. I used to have a script with easy mine launcher that auto signed in, removed the frame on both minecraft windows and set up their position and resolution on screen. Without they have to be adjusted manually every game.
You can have different profiles set for different versions of Minecraft and mixture of mods. Each profile can have a custom amount of RAM set. A custom resolution AND can be set to full screen or maximized by default.
Keep in mind that the way this mod is packaged in the .zip file requires you to repack the contents correctly so Magic Launcher could read it as a mod.
magic launcher doesn't do what I want. If I want two instances on same screen, I want to launch one that will already be set to top half and the other to bottom half.
Yes you can do that but it does requires a little extra work but I ultimately like this way then having different craft copies as that is just a waste of space IMO:
You'll have to play with the custom resolutions (usually simply dividing your current desktop resolution sorta) a bit until you get a window that is perfectly half of the screen. Then you simply drag the windows to the bottom and the top (watch out of your using Windows 7 and Windows 8 as you might maximize the top screen by mistake)
Simply Login with your normal minecraft account. Start Magic launcher again and use an offline account. Log in again and play offline. Select your new controller in the options > Controller settings menu and apply it. Close that minecraft and start it again. The new controller will be set. Repeat this process as many times as you want. Keep in mind that after all that is set. The next time you wish to do it again has to be done again.
I use Magic Launcher as it's just so much more easier this way. I have resolutions set to 1/4th of the screen for 4 player games. Works like a charm both in 1.5.2 and 1.6.1.
If only the mod detects the new controller immediately without having to restart the game then it would be much easier to pull that off. I understand if that is too much work but IMO I think it's better in the long run. I just like to keep my stuff organized in a single spot
First id like to thank you freeshiney. Mods like this are one of the single best kinds for me, it helps me let my friends experience a game in a way which only would have been available in single player. Which would make them probably never end up playing it at all. I am just happy that its still being worked on as i follow its progress but am happy to wait to see the end product :). I saw recently you said you have updated it. Has it been updated to work with optifine, forge or other mods if not do you see it possibly coming soon ? Sorry if you've been asked this a thousand time, i just really want to know i am just crazy for the possibilities im imagining XD.
I've downloaded the 1.6.1 version and put it into the launcher and everything, and I can navigate through the menu without any trouble at all. But whenever I load up a world, or even create a new one, the controller doesn't work. I've pressed every button on it, but nothing happens whatsoever, and I have to use the keyboard to open up the menu, in which case the controller decides to work again and I can navigate the menu. It worked in 1.5 (with the old launcher), it's just 1.6.1 that's not working. I'm using a PS3 controller with the DS3 tool. Please help.

I usually have a neutral/undecided standpoint on things. And yes, I am part Swiss.
Hello I would like to first of all thank you and all of the others who helped to create this amazing mod. Now on to my question I have recently been looking for a 1.6.2 copy and have found many , although before just downloading a virus of some sort out of anxiety I would like to know if you have created a 1.6.2 version? Also if not do you intend on making one? Thank you for your time I do apologize if i was not supposed to post this question here I am rather new when it comes to forums. Thanks again.
@aking... that's not doing what I want. I do to have to move the windows every time. Easyminelauncher allowed you to specify account, window size and location, and no border. With this I was able to set up one bat file to launch both instances and be in the game quick. Using this on my htpc, I try to eliminate as much mouse keyboard work as possible.
Hi I have been running into a lot of 1.6.2 versions if this mod would u mind letting me know if these are legit from you? If they are not do you intend to make one for the current version? Thank you for the mod and your time hope to hear back from you , also I apologize in advance if I was supposed to post this somewhere else.

Oh well then. I tried.
Does it work with optifine?
