I'm working on an update that should fix the issues on Windows 10 with the latest XInput drivers requiring a roll back to get full functionality.
If things go well it should also fix the Corsair mouse issue and also allow reconnecting the controller mid game. These changes would only affect Windows users that use an XInput gamepad (i.e. XBox gamepad).

No ETA but hoping before Xmas.
Can you also try to fix the issue with MCHeli so that we can turn when we look around? I don't know if you knew this, but you cannot turn in the planes/helicopters using the controllers. Thanks! (You will be doing this for 1.7.10 too right?)

Thank you so much for this mod. I love it! But because it isn't compatible with 1.11, I've had to do keyboard again and believe me it is tough to go back. Hunching over the keyboard again is not fun or good on my back. I'm an older MC player who works on my keyboard all day for my job and like to kick back with my controller when I'm off. So needless to say, I'm looking forward to my Christmas present this year.
The update is going well. I'm using a new input library and everything is working as it should. Connecting/reconnecting without resetting the game is awesome.
I haven't had a chance to test it with other mods yet like MCHeli but I haven't changed the logic of how the mod talks to Minecraft so its doubtful it will fix anything like that.
@1supersonicfan this mod doesn't enable 2 keyboard/mouse input. -- PS The supersonics were great!
If anyone is interested in an early release let me know and I'll put something up here and you can help me find some bugs.

Test version. I've changed the way the Joystick is read on Windows machines.
Most likely this version will only be happy with XInput controllers on Windows because that's all i've tested on so far.
If you find any crashes please post the crash trace here in spoiler tags. If something simply isn't working properly post the output here in spoiler tags.

1. Would it be possible to use a Nintendo Gamecube controller as the joypad necessary for this Joypad mod (using the Wii U adapter)?
2. Is there a Joypad version that works for Minecraft 1.10.2?
3. What types of controllers CAN this mod work with? I don't have any xbox or playstation controllers, and I don't know what classifies as a "joypad" necessary to get this mod to work. What devices can I actually use?
I don't think it will work with 1.11. Some changes are coming for that version (which will be backported to earlier versions when ready) and it will have better support for XInput devices. The Nintendo gamecube is I believe DInput only so you won't see any differences with the latest version.

Any devices which are "seen" by Windows or whichever operating system you currently run. For example, if you go into Windows "Game Controllers" and it shows up then chances are it will work with this mod.
Thanks Eastsider! Awesome update. I've been playing it the last few days in 1.11 and it seems to work perfectly for me. I haven't had a single issue yet (knock on wood!). I only have a few mods loaded with Forge and it, X's minimap and the Inventory sorting mod.
I like this version better than the last. It seems smoother to me and buttons are marked correctly for XBONE joypad. And love that you can disconnect it and reconnect without having to restart MC. I play plugged in and my controller was always coming loose and disconnecting. No problem now!
Thanks again for the early Christmas present. I hope you and your family are well this holiday season.

HEY! the Corsair mouse issue is fine. Im testing on Minecraft 1.11-forge1.11-13.19.1.2189 (which is 1 step higher than the mod suggests in its name)(.2188) Im going to keep trying to find anything else. I usually play with 3 siblings so i will notice anything and notify this thread.
Edit: BTW, is there supposed to be a number 2 in the top left corner?
Edit2: Also testing with Driver 1/1/2015(6.3.9600.16384)
Edit:3 ohhhh is it a prompt of some kind? when i tested to disconnect my controller is said Joypad Disconnected or something like that. annnnnnnnnnd reconnected! Yes!! So i assume its a prompt? i need to leave home, but im assuming the number is to let us know which controller or player is which? if not well...theres a number 2 there even though im alone.
I've got it working with the Gamecube controller successfully! However, the movement seems really strange. As you may notice, the analog stick has eight directions. Windows can detect the "x axis and y axis" no matter which direction I tilt in and no matter how hard or soft I tilt in that direction. When I go to configure the minecraft controls and look under the advanced calibration option, it seems to be detecting everything the same way Windows does. However, when I assign the axes for this analog stick to the movement for the Minecraft character, he will ONLY walk forward if the gamecube analog stick is tilted ALL THE WAY forward. It's the same for strafing left, right, and backward. So when I go to any of the diagonal directions, my character doesn't move at all. For any amount that I tilt that isn't all the way, my character doesn't move at all either. Naturally, this can be really inconvenient since the character just stops any time you want to change direction. I was hoping I could make the diagonal direction act as a combination of two directions so the movement would be more fluid (as if, for example, pressing both the W and D keys to go forward and right), but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. It only moves my character if the numbers for the x and y axis are high enough, and neither are high enough when I go in any diagonal direction; only when I go all out horizontally or vertically. Do all controllers have this issue or is it just the gamecube controller? By the way, when I use any analog stick to move the mouse around, the movement is perfectly fluid and detected no matter how slightly I tilt the stick or in what direction. It's the same for looking around with an analog stick, it works perfectly. The only trouble is with movement. Is there any solution?
using minecraft 1.11 and latest forge (1.11 - 13.19.1.2189) with the test version you posted for 1.11, and it doesn't find any of my xbox 360 controllers. (Windows 10, using the official wireless dongle) when I switch back to 1.7.10 or 1.8.9, the versions I have for those work as expected.
I have not had any issues with my controllers, but I did have to configure the controls. If you have already configured the move controls, then it has to be an issue with the controller.

That number is actually the battery level. I'm still playing around with that. I think 2 is fully charged.

Does this work with two keyboards? Like player 1 uses built-in keyboard on laptop and touchpad, and player 2 uses connected USB keyboard and mouse.

I think it would work. There is no way to know except through trial.
Our version 1.9 works with 1.10 so there is no need for a Joypad 1.10 specific version
