The NotOnlyAesthetic mod is a mod that aims to add stuff that looks great, but still has functionality. It includes features from my previous Diamond Dust mod as well.
Sections:
The Diamond Dust section adds diamond dust to the game, which can be used to repair diamond tools. It also adds wood chips, stone dust, and iron dust, which allow you to repair their respective tools. It ALSO makes gold tools be repairable by gold nuggets. You can also make chain links (by smelting iron dust), which can be used to craft chain mail armor in the normal armor recipe.
NOTE: Repairing tools is broken.

A detailed guide is being written up, but until then, we have the video(s) and simple usage instructions below:
Diamond Dust section of the mod:
Note: These instruction are for diamond dust only. If you want to make other dusts, use their cutter/ingot. (There is no 'stone cutter'. To make stone dust, use flint instead.) Instructions for them coming soon!
First make a 'Cutter Diamond' by putting a diamond in a crafting table surrounded by 8 flint.
Then with that cutter diamond and a diamond in a crafting table (in any position), make 'Diamond Dust'
Then put one diamond dust and a diamond tool in a crafting bench, and now the diamond tool is repaired!
Easy, eh?
It ALSO makes gold tools be repairable by gold nuggets. You can also make chain links (by smelting iron dust), which can be used to craft chain mail armor in the normal armor recipe.
Road mod section:
There are now various kinds of roads you can make! They increase your speed when you are on them! The simplest kind (trails) can be made in a crafting table with 2 dirt on top, two gravel on the bottom. There are also paths, roads, golden brick roads, and the mysterious and OP Runic Warp. More info on recipes coming soon!
You can make Haybales by putting 6 wheat in a crafting table in a 3*2 fashion: 3 across in one row, 3 across in the next.
You can make mud by putting a bucket of water in the center of a crafting table, and then putting dirt in the 4 sides connecting with that. You get the bucket back. Mud slows you down a TON! (More than soulsand!

Hi! Question, there used to be a mod that let you smelt gravel into roads back in beta 1.6/1.7... Did you make that one?
I might give your mod a spin. =)

I didn't make that one. It would be great if you tried this out though!
Two more questions, though. I may be late in the news if this has changed, but to my knowledge you lose enchantments when you repair enchanted tools. Does your mod let you keep the current enchantment?
Second (more complex): I use a mod (TFC's Gempack) that adds about 10 of gems to the game, with which you can craft tools. They are mostly all iron-level and better--several other mods out there offer ores and gems too, like Metallurgy and Orizon. The fact is, I no longer use diamond and iron to make tools at all because those two materials are much too valuable in other areas of the game.
I make all my tools out of the special gems, and if I ever enchant tools made with those gems, you bet I'd love to be able to repair them and keep the enchantments.... =)
The question is, is it imaginable that your mod would let us craft dust with these other mods' gems, ores and such? I guess users would have to specify the materials in a config file themselves since you can't be expected to know about all of them...
Or maybe it's just a case of making your mod compatible with another mod?

Just asking in case you want to expand =)
It might be possible, but not at this point, as of course I would need some images, and I do not actually know how to do that.
I'm working on some stuff. You can check the code out on the github page if you want, otherwise, you can just wait till the next update. There's a bug I want to fix before then.

Certainly! If you could port it to Bukkit aswell, that would be great. You can fork from https://github.com/G...otOnlyAesthetic on github.

Yes I am!
It was there XD I don't know why it disappeared. I re-added it.
Thanks!
