I read the changelog, PLEASE DON'T DELETE YOUR PARROTS!!! The models and sounds are awesome!!!
By the way, Parrot! Have you seen the Animania mod? Also Hungry animals? Would you make them compatible [regarding the AI?] It would be cool to have a duck (or ostrich) farm. By that, I mean, making the mods behave more realistic [just a suggestion! :D]
I'm using this with MoCreature and CustomMobSpawner. They do spawn fine, some i still have too see. Are there any issues that are know of? If it works then not, I guess?? ^^
Edit:
Saw them all and raised the spawn cap in CMS. Saw ducks sooo cutieeeeee ^^
The recipe for the book of birds isn't working for me for some reason, unfortunately. I'm only use this mod along with Mo' Creatures and Minecraft Comes Alive on 1.12.2. I'm not getting any errors when I try and birds are spawning normally and everything. The recipe just doesn't seem to be working.
Hello I just downloaded this mod and I love it...with one exception. On here it says swans can breed; however when I feed them seeds in game they give off hearts but don't make baby :/ like they won't try to get closer or anything they'll just sit there staring at me. I'd appreciate any help from you and thank you in advance for your time.
@Sneaky_Silly_Fox I just saw the models...wow. You are so talented! Please, think about making your own animals mod!! For real!! Primates as a suggestion!! Please!!!
Unfortunately you have to kill a male peacock I'll probably change the recipe in the future
Maybe turn peacock feathers into something you can occasionally find in nests generated with peacock eggs for those who want to avoid the peacock murder? That's a place I can think of where you might find a feather.
Could be neat to include feathers for the other birds too, though I don't know what use there'd be for them. The peacock feathers kinda only have the one use as is. Unless you were to put them in the bird book somehow as a sort of documentation- but that might encourage more bird murder. XD
It is just a suggestion.
How about making the flying birds flying from the usual sky?
I am bothered that birds do not fly too much except when players approach.
For example, if birds are jumping in the sky daytime, owls fly quietly at night and stop on the trees, it will be a good ambient.
Sorry I'm bad at English.
Do Exotic Birds naturally despawn? Im seeing examples of worlds where they don't despawn and gradually fill up the spawn cap - making it so that nothing else spawns at all unless they are killed? Is this a fault in the mod or maybe interference from another mod?
Hi! So the birds act the same way as passive mobs in vanilla Minecraft; they won't despawn. There's nothing I can do about this due to the amount of different mobs this mod adds, but you can edit the config files, or use an external spawn control mod to fix that.
It is just a suggestion.

And you can spend for example on a glass pipe and through them to lay eggs in the trunks or in incubators, it would be good with this opportunity.
Sorry for the bad English, translated from the translator
Well I just had the strangest thing happen. XD I tossed an egg to get rid of it and it spawned four boobies. Was so surprised, I immediately rounded them up to keep them.
But that's just a very odd and strange explanation. Despawn code is relatively simple to implement and has nothing to do with how many mobs there may be. There is nothing in the configs that allows despawning to be implemented. There is no external mob control mod that can implement it. This is something you need to fix as your birds, wonderful as they are, are wrecking long term worlds by eventually taking up the whole spawn cap. Literally, nothing else is allowed to spawn, ever, once the world becomes filled with birds.
I wasn't aware of what you were asking, which is probably why you didn't get the answer you expected. You said that nothing else spawns apart from the exotic birds, so I was offering a solution to that problem: use an external spawn control mod/edit the config. Coding an alternative would be far too time consuming for the little amount of time I have free. I didn't realise you were talking about wanting the birds to despawn; Minecraft mobs don't despawn, and you asked if my mobs acted the same way, which they do. You're the first to mention it, but if you want a despawn option then I'll add one in.

Did you take the CurseForge page down? It currently is missing.

How can I make owls sit?
And you tame them with rotten flesh, right?
I am playing 1.12.2 by the way.
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

How could you stop birds from laying eggs . . .???
Just uploaded a new version for 1.12.2! It adds a config that allows you to specify how often the birds should lay eggs
Unfortunately you can't do this at the moment

Oh, any chance we could get a female variant for the cardinals?
Nice

Possibly
They should do both of these

Not bad! I like the additions of water birds like swans and duck. They look so nice as the float i water.
