Previous page (67) on this thread, top post, the one by me… has the link you need. A few posts down there is more discussion and I demonstrate the format.
That will make Harvestcraft's Grape Juice drinkable… give you 5 drops of Thirstmod Thirst, with a 1.2 Saturation, possibility of poisoning at 10% chance. The last "0" is the meta data of harvestcraft:grapejuiceItem.
Save that in a text file called "GrapeJuice.txt", and stick it in your /minecraft/thirstmod/external/ folder
Thanks for this will mess around with it later i been doing it wrong all along lol
Can anyone tell me how to install the drink packs? I tried to follow the instructions here but it didn't work. I could really use some help cause I'd like to have them in my game. Thanks.

In your .minecraft folder.. there's a folder called "thirstmod"… in the "thirstmod" folder… there's a folder called "content". Put your drink packs in there.
My solution was to remove all of the Harvestcraft drinks, and create new ThirstMod drinks based on the HC drinks, using the colouring and input items that HarvestCraft uses.
Could you please elaborate because this is exactly what I'd like to do but I don't understand what you did to remove the HC drinks and create the new ones with the input items HC uses. Is this all done in the jar file as well? I see how to create the drinks via "harvestcraft:grapejuiceItem 5 1.2 true 0.1 0" but the rest is fuzzy. I appreciate it!

i would apreciate it if you would remove the rain collector so people have to use the cauldron again. it has a more minecraft like feel to it.
That ain't happenin'. The cauldron is a completely different block. It collects vanilla water, the rain collector collects fresh water. If you don't want people to use it, then don't make it available to them. It's not like the rain collector is a completely irrelevant block that is present out of context of the mod and we're all left going "Why'd he put THAT in THIS mod?"
Anyone found a way to work around the mystcraft notebook/canteen recipe issue? I reaaalllly enjoy them both but they share the same 3 leather in a V shape. There a way I can invert that or something? Also I've noticed that unless I have two inventory spaces opened, I lose whatever I was drinking from. It doesn't fall on the ground, it just disappears.

You need to change the recipe for one of them. Use Minetweaker.
Ah, false alarm, they took out the notebook in the latest mystcraft, no worries there then. I'm using version 1.8.14 of thirstmod (recommended wasn't working with my mods for some reason) so I reckon I shouldn't complain if it's twitchy
Just change the values to your liking. First being amount of thirst replenished and the second being saturation. Be aware I've only just put this together and I have not yet balanced the values. For instance I play on hard with Spice of Life and Hunger Overhaul so my foods grow slow and are difficult to obtain, so I've used a higher value than what you'd probably want to use without those mods.
How would I go about making normal water completely unobtainable? I'm making an ultra-hardcore survival island modpack and the ocean around the user is made up of MFR Sewage blocks, which when right clicked with a glass bottle gives the player a normal water bottle, which obviously shouldn't be happening logically because the water is 'toxic/poisoned'. I've tried deleting the file "minecraft-items.txt" from:
MODPACK\thirstmod\external
And then creating another called "harvestcraft-items.txt" containing this (because whenever I edit the 'Minecraft-items.txt' it will revert, however I want to override the water bottle data within the document) but when I start up the game it reverts to the classic 3 Droplet regeneration when I drink from a water bottle - instead of only giving one droplet and a 90% chance to give water poisoning to the player. The code at the moment applies to all types of potions but I know that adding a '0' on the end of the statement only targets the water bottle.

I haven't tested this, but I am aware that the minecraft-items.txt is reverted on each start-up. So, this is just a theory and I have not tested, but.... If the custom files, such as harvestcraft-items.txt are loaded AFTER the minecraft-items.txt, perhaps try setting normal water to (whatever you want) in a custom text file and, if it works, water bottles will be loaded from the custom file after the minecraft one, thus overriding the 3 droplets, perhaps?.. Just a theory.

This is my issue - I've tried this already - if I put the potion in the harvestcraft-items.txt file, all items that restore your thirst stop working. If I don't, then I am back to square one. Bummer D:
Damn, hmm. Post the line your adding to harvestcraft-items.txt and I'll have a play around with it. I was hoping to do something similar with the modpack I was putting together so this will affect me as well anyway.
Here is the line I currently have that completely breaks the mod (nothing can be drunk, it plays through some of the animation and then cancels it):
minecraft:potion 1 1.0 true 0.9
So I did a bit of tweaking and have found so far the best way to do this. Place this into your extra config - it won't completely disable water bottles but it will make them almost completely useless to drink:
minecraft:potion 1 0.1 true 0.9 0
Whilst it does't poison the drinker, the water bottle now gives basically 0 saturation - the half a drop they just gained will be lost so quickly that there is little point trying to drink any more, which means that they can only be used in very dire situations to gain thirst but will not keep you hydrated for long at all.

Ah! I was looking in the mods folder not the .minecraft. I found it! Thanks < 3
any way to disable drink normal water?
btw you dont drop thirst if you stay quiet?
i tryed to change in the minecraft-items.txt to minecraft:potion 0 0.0 but after launch minecraft this return to the default.
