Just noticed the new stuff; and I plan to check it out. After all, if I can manage to use this, even a monkey on a chain could make it look sharp *grin*...
Some ideas I plan to use:
"Shave & A Haircut" (shear a sheep for its wool)
"Oh, Shiny...!" (Make a diamond Sword)
"Hardcore Miner" (Mine a block of obsidian)
"Sauna Malfunction" (Die in lava)
"You hear something?" (Bet blown up by a Creeper)
"You ain't a fish..." (Die by drowning)
"Going Green" (Make an IC2 Solar Panel)
"That ain't quartz..." (Mine a ThaumCraft Crystal)
"Dimensional Science!" (Make an EE2 Alchemy chest)
"Who needs a pick now?" (Make a BuildCraft Quarry)
"Designer Storage" (Make one of the chests from the Iron Chests Mod)
"Aperture Tech" (Make a Portal Gun from the Mod of same name)
"Smart Piping (Make a BC Logistic Pipe)
"The new Cobble.." (Mine a block of Redpower Basalt)
and since you made the Mod, Davidee...
"Compact Wiring" (Make an Update Detector Block)
Be playing with your new toy ....
Later .... Peace ....
Thank you so much! Those achievements sound pretty cool, but remember that you can achievements with multiple conditions/ OR clauses. Don't forget the multiple step achievements!
Nice nice nice, i noticed you "Adds a way for Modders to add ModAchievements in their own Mods by the method mod_AchievementAPI.registerAchievement(ModAchievement)"
Good job
Don't mean to ruin your fun making the achievements, but just to show how easy 'tis to make them with the mod, here you go:
Not possible due to there being no 'SHEAR_SHEEP' event (yet)
Possible. TAKEN_FROM_CRAFTING with ID 276
Possible. DESTROYED_BY_PLAYER with ID 49
Not yet possible because there is no 'DEATH_BY_LAVA' event (yet)
Not possible because there is no 'DEATH_BY_CREEPER' event (yet)
Not possible because there is no 'DEATH_BY_DROWNING' event (yet)
Possible. TAKEN_FROM_CRAFTING with the solar panel's item ID (and item Damage)
Possible. DESTROYED_BY_PLAYER with ID 245 (no item damage so it works with every kind of crystal)
Good idea.
Also, when is the THEN operator coming? :DDD
ITEM_PICKUP could work, but then it wouldn't know if you actually sheared the sheep, killed it, or got the wool through trading.
It's coming in the next update. I still need to work out how I'm going to implement it. And I may also want to add in other operators, such as XOR, maybe even NAND. What do you guys think?
I get how those work in redstone but i don't see how they would with achievements, can you give an example?
You're right. XOR wouln't really have any purpose in this. However, NAND could be used (rarely) like this:
condition1 NAND condition2 AND condition3
So it would trigger if condition3 is true and the other condition (condition1 AND condition2) is false. I guess this really can't be used with the lack of events at moment, though.
Can the AchievementAPI also do an achievement when you kill a player?
Not in the current version. I am, however, looking to add more events to future versions of the mod. What events would you like? KILLED (Entity), KILLED_BY (Entity), and what else?
Okay; I'm doing something wrong with Achievement API .... When I start it up, I just get a black screen crash; and despite a number of tries, I can't get Minecraft to start with this Mod....
What do I need to do to (normally) to install this Mod?
SHEAR_SHEEP
USE_CHEST (right click it)
USE_FURNACE (right click it)
USE_CRAFTING_TABLE (right click it)
item destroyed by lava (for example diamonds)
break a tool (like a pickaxe, shovel, axe, sword, etc)
stay alive a certain amount of time
also check out the usedIds.txt for a lot of event suggestions (especially the stats)
I'll look into how easily some of these events can be added, as compatibility is a large priority. But it certainly does need more events. How would stat-based events work though? Number based?

Did you install ModLoader? What other mods do you have installed? The released version is incompatible with forge.
So you would need to have killed five players to trigger the achievement.
Perhaps the <amount> tag could be used with every event, perhaps as some sort of operator?
for example:
So you would have to pick up 64 cobblestone OR one sapling to trigger the achievement.
Would this be possible?
The XML would be a little different- I'd have to decide what it would be exactly. But it seems plausible. However, the amount tag for regular events will not work because they are not saved like that. Modifying it to handle such a case would change how everything is saved.
Can't use it then, since I'm using IC2 and RedPower, both of which requires Forge to run....
Later .... Peace ....
I'm going to start working on a forge-compatible version. It shouldn't take very long to make - check back Saturday night/Sunday morning. It should be done by then.

Okay ... I'll be watching ... And thinking about Achieves that I actually can make (maybe like "Shave & a Haircut" for making your 1st set of shears...)
Seeing how Time sensitive THEN and AND operators (both events B and event C need to be completed within X seconds/ticks of completing event A (order sensitive with THEN, too)) will change how everything is saved too...
Would there be an, albeit time-consuming, way for you to, as you say, 'change how everything is saved', while still keeping compatibility?
I was just going to make the THEN operator not time based. It would simply allow for ordering of conditions of an achievement. It wouldn't keep track of the time progressed between each condition, meaning that it wouldn't have to change saving.

Expect it to come out later tonight! The problem is due to a single .class file being modified in both AchievementAPI and Forge
I understand this, and don't get me wrong, just a THEN operator is great.
But if we could have both that and time based THEN and AND operators, that would be even better.
Just so i understand better, how much will you have to change to get time based stuff (and <amount> on other tags) to work?
Great
Didn't actually check, (fail on my part) there probably is no problem
I guess it was a bit far-fetched... still, 45 degree angles would of been nice, that way you can get the images around corners.
Well saving would need to be changed entirely. I'll do the THEN operator that ignores time first. And although a 45 Degree mirror would be cool, I think it's too much work.
On the Toggle-Sneak/Sprint mod, how do you take away toggling sprint? I edited the "true" in the .cfg file to false, but whenever I log in toggle sprint is on even if un-toggle it with the key.

In mod_Toggle.cfg located in the config folder, set "toggleSprint=true" to "toggleSprint=false". Or, you can simply press the ToggleSprint control key (default is C) to toggle whether it is active or not in game.
Can you make a mob spawner block that uses a similar GUI to the noteblock? That would be awesome for populating dungeons with monsters on a server for other players to adventure through.

I'm pretty sure that something like this already exists. Sorry.

Tada! I've just been really busy lately. In a week or so, however, I'll have a lot of spare time.
Thank you so much! Glad that you like it!

Hey Davidee, is the Achievement API been fixed? Just asking since I wasn't sure....
I'm pretty sure that something like this already exists. Sorry.
I'll start working on that now... but what needs to be fixed, exactly? Is there a major bug? Or do you mean an update?
