I think the swords should hit harder for what it costs to make it.
Compared to the vanilla items, these weapons are perfectly scaled in terms of damage. I will not be making any changes to those values, however if you feel that they should be better, you can change damage values in the configuration file to whatever you want.
I'm trying to change the damage values on the Wither's Bane (from 8 to 9) in the config on my smp server, but it is not changing the damage after I do a restart. The config remains changed to 9, but when hovering over the item in game it still says attack damage is 8. Am I missing something? Thanks for you help.

if you changed the damage number on the server, did you also change it in your games config on your computer. That way both sides client and server have the same value?

I did, and that worked, thanks for the help. However, does this mean that every player on my server will have to adjust their config files in order for changes to occur? If so, that seems pretty tedious.

My understanding is that the default settings are what anyone will get, unless the OP/server admin decides to change the values on the server and that allows the individual players to raise or lower values if they choose to, to match the adjusted settings to the server.

When the player is on the server, their version of the config is used for all client side things, so if the player has the value set to 9999999 it will look that way on the tooltip for that player, as that is all handled by the client, as rendering. When the player uses the sword to attack, since damage is synced between client and server, where the server is the master value, only the server value will be used. Keep in mind that it's generally a good idea for the users on the server to have the same config files as the server anyhow, as there are a lot of syncing issues that could come up, for example if they player has a damage indicator mod on their client, it may show the weapon as doing 9999999 damage, even though it's only doing what the server says it is. While that can be tedious, this is why most modded servers use custom mod packs, so everyone is up to date.

Thank you for that correction/info of my knowledge of server verses client side values and how they work

Ah, I see. I'm new to running a server so this info helps immensely. Thank you so much for clarifying.
Felt like this may be additionally useful for those who enjoy spreadsheets. It's info on this mod, but literately in spreadsheet format, the only difference is: This sheet is more designed for Hexxit Revisited in mind, due to a few changes. Still both non-changed and changed stuff will be available on this sheet. Hopefully helpful to those who have trouble running a web browser along side their client. That way you can download the sheet and look at is as you play, easily : ]
be patient, only a few mod out there are updated, guess forge is still not so stable ?
Well, there is a recommended build out for forge, and it is stable enough for me to move to that version. At this point I feel that it is the opinion of the mod (development) community that version 1.8 of minecraft offers so very little, yet to update mods to work with it, it takes a ridiculous amount of tedious work. The forge development team has decided that they do not wish to make things less tedious for developers, so things are kind of at a stand still within the community. Personally I don't see any reason to update at this time. I also feel like there is still a lot of work to be done on 1.7.10. As to why I am not doing both, maintaining two builds/branches of this mod would require two much time and work, and would ultimately cripple the already slow progress being made on this mod.
TL;DR - Don't expect a 1.8 build to come out within the next 3 months. Perhaps much longer, only time can tell.
Will you be re-adding the Master Sword and it's related enchantments?
I miss having the Master Sword in the mod as well, however I removed it because it didn't really feel like it belonged. I have been playing around with the idea of adding these "reference" type swords to the mod, and once I get that worked out, you can expect some of these swords to make a come back. No ETA on when this will be.
I think the swords should hit harder for what it costs to make it.
read carefully, the dmg can be tuned through the config file....
I'm just a wanderer.....

could you make this compatible with version checker ?

I have some few questions
What sword suggestions are you going to add?
Can i make suggestion of enchantments of the swords?
On a scale of 1 to 10 how good are you in programming?
What are you looking for sword suggestions?
Are you planning to make the swords have animated texture?
