so, I usually use Rei's minimap because i got that one first and got use to it.... however I was wondering if it were possible to have a setting that makes it so the closest X amount of waypoints load, or the closest out of the ones that are on. With maybe another option that the waypoints within a set radius of the player are visible. If not its ok but I have some pvp servers that this would be amazing on so I dont die while trying to turn on and off waypoints. lol, if it is possble, I'll probably switch to this minimap for when I use servers, (also is it possible to use the waypoints i used in rei's for this minimap?

currently waypoints within 1000 blocks show in-game (as signs. as beacons, they only show if their chunk is loaded. Choose between signs, beacons, both or neither in the menu). i find it rather useful for cutting down the number of waypoints to just those that are relatively close by. Making that radius configurable is doable; I'd consider it

yes. Just install the map. When you first visit a world, it will copy over points created with Rei's
Please add Zan's Minimap and No Voidfog (and No Dimming) for Minecraft 1.4.2! Not 1.4.4. I did install your mod (1.4.4) and give my game black screen. That is why I want no void fog mod for minecraft because void fog hurt my eyes so bad!
Remember please add all mod version for all old minecraft to new minecraft in order.

Deaf and hard of hearing people use American Sign Language (ASL) by use hands. Deaf and hard of hearing people use Purple, Sorenson and Zvrs to chat with friends, family and everything in US only.
So I've completely switched back to Zan's. Although there are some things about Rei's that still feel more... I don't know... "polished"? Well, that polish isn't sufficient to override the wealth of features and capability you've created in Zan's minimap.
Your beacon-based waypoint projection system, now that it has the Signs option, somehow manages to both match the usefulness of Rei's waypoint markers AND be a totally unique interpretation of the feature!
Furthermore, your minimap's coordination between Netherspace and Overworld is INDISPENSIBLE! Even when I WAS primarily still using Rei's, I would switch back to yours whenever I was creating nether portals!
If you really WANTED to, I know exactly how you could ice the cake and make this minimap a completely undisputable champion among all minecraft minimaps:
1. Map display refinements:
a. Biome mode--displaying biome areas color-coded. Yeah, that'd pretty much steal the feature directly away from Rei's >_>; but it'd be useful!
b. Surface only--Technically already exists if you turn off cave mode.
c. Sight level cross-section--Would sort of be like an 'always on' cave mode, even on the surface. It's useful for seeing passes in mountains on the surface.
d. Automatic--What we normally have.
e. Lightspace--An entirely NEW idea, rendering walkable squares as either Green (bright enough to grow plants, Yellow (not bright enough to grow plants but too bright for mobs to spawn), or Red (dark enough that hostile mobs will spawn).
f. The ability to switch modes on a key bind.
2. Waypoint aesthetic/functional refinement:
a. The ability to bind 'create a new waypoint' to a key.
b. The option to have a waypoint set to a 'random color' if you don't feel like picking one in particular.
c. A small refinement on 'distance to waypoint' significant figures. perhaps to .01 blocks. (centimeters!)
Of course no one can fault you if you don't want to borrow any of these ^^; you made a great map, and it'll stay great even if you don't implement any new stuff! I'm just grateful that you actually listen to us! You're an awesome modder and an inspiration, Mr. MamiyaOtaru!
On an alternate subject, Do you remember Lahwran's WorldEdit CUI?
Even when I didn't have access to worldedit's actual 'editing' features, its 'selection' features (spheres, cylinders, cuboids, prisms) were incredibly useful when it came to creating 'guides' for me to build along, to help me keep track of how long certain features of a structure were supposed to be... or to help me lay out the edge of a round tower, for instance!
How feasible do you think it would be for one to create a 100% client-side 'measurement system' mod that projects nonphysical 'geometry grids' inside the game space to help builders coordinate their constructions?
Stonehawk, thanks for the suggestions. Lots to consider. Cavemode/surface/cross-section: could do that. I've got a couple other keys that cycle through options instead of just being on/off. Could do the same for that stuff. The lightspace bit is sort of what Zombe's safemode does, except it does it in world. Would be interesting for the map.
Does this minimap mod show other players in SMP? If not do you guys know another map mod that shows other players in real time on the map?
it does
At the moment I'm a little tied up with my latest mod: ChatBubbles. Stuff like it already exists, like VoxelChat. That requires a server plugin though. This is all clientside. Little clumsier for it, but it works
Anybody know a good crowded server I could stress test this on?
Thank you for your response mamiyaotaru, and good luck with that neat lookin' chatbubbles mod!
Actually, a server I used to play on once had a lot of traffic. play.lostcraft.net --they used to have a sprawling spawntown last I checked where a LOT of folks used to hang out all the time.
I just assumed one little thing. It's just cosmetical, but streange... The World direction sighnt on minimap ('N', 'S', 'E', 'W') looks like doubled. Like one 'N' on another, little different font. I Thought that is becose a betterfonts mod i use, but without this mod is the same. I attach screenshot.
one more update: it happend's only on square map.
Oh man how'd I manage that haha. I removed the letters from the map image and let Minecraft render them (so betterfonts etc could render nicer looking text if available). Looks like I forgot to include the new image without the built in letters in one of the downloads D: D: (you apparently don't use the modloader version!) Thanks for pointing it out, will upload a new version (got a couple other fixes too)

how do i make it bigger and the menu doesn't look like it is in the pictures why is that??
Maczaz is right about the size of the map (I'll probably be changing that soon) Also the menu code has been entirely redone to use the in-game style as it is easier to add to (I didn't write the original menu code and found it to be a bit spaghetti-esque)
Alien Motion Tracker! YAY <3
another lovely mod thx for making it!
althought... I ran into a compactibility issue propably * **
it seems WMLL and Alien Motion Tracker are not in love together with each other
Indeed not. They both modify GuiIngame.class. The modloader version of the minimap should work with WMLL, but as yet there is no modloader version of the Motion Tracker (it hasn't had a lot of love lately). I'll look to do that at some point, and yeah iPeer got in touch
I have a question about the Superflat Slimes mod: Does it just remove the slime chunks or just disable their natural spawning?
Well, actually, I guess the ultimate question I need answered is that if I use this mod with my adventure map, will it allow people who download the map and who use it with vanilla Minecraft be able to play my map Slime-free? Also, Slime Spawn Eggs still work normally, yes? I think you answered that on your Planet Minecraft page, but it sounded like you hadn't quite confirmed it. I'd just like to be sure. Thanks!
it doesn't actually change the world. it only changes slime entities so they are not allowed to spawn in flat. Unfortunately, If someone without the mod uses your world, they will be able to spawn again. Your best bet may be to make a flat world that starts at level 45 or something instead of 10
Here's a

Anyway, here's a quick mod to fix the torch flicker bug that appeared in 1.4.4

And Maczaz is right, try the N key
it does

Unnamed adventure map
Slime spawn eggs should work fine
