Can someone explain how to install this? I don't really understand how to do it.
I'm with you. I tried to install it, but it's not showing up with my other mods in my Forge ModLoader window. I haven't explored the world yet to see if the structures are there, I'm just assuming I did something wrong with the installation since it's not showing up in my Forge mods list. Can anyone help a brother out?

You must open the zip and start reading the readme files, they tell you how to install. Be sure to include the resources folder which I think it does a weird way of explaining that. Need the mod itself(after you open the zip which includes the zip of ruins) and the resources folder in your mods folder.
Hello, I'm using Magic launcher with Forge hard-installed into Minecraft. At the moment I'm trying to get Ruins to work but it shows up as 'no mods detected' and it doesn't seem to generate structures like it does in the video.
You need to install ruins manually. There's instructions inside the zip file.
Hmm, I thought you were talking about the Highlands mod in post 679, not Biomes O' Plenty. Perhaps you mistakenly referred to BoP as Highlands? Or are you saying they have the same problem? Either way, this doesn't address whether anything could be done to get the mods to work together in the future...
Given that Ruins mod is one of the most game-changing mods I use, and Biomes O' Plenty accounts for over half the biomes I see, I am very motivated to get this to work, and obviously so is Mohawky Magoo, even if it means trying to get the BoP devs to take a look at the issue. You may already consider this a 'closed' issue but that doesn't really help those who are using BoP with Ruins. Any information you could provide could be useful, perhaps to the BoP team or to somebody who might want to make a BoP plug-in or add-on for Ruins.
Well, to be fair, his second question was entirely about Ruins... It was a specific question about how chests and spawners work, and it remains unanswered.
hi. can you tell me how to make the ruins i custom-build genorate under-ground? i made a tnt pit mineshaft thing, and it turned into a tower because the lowermost block in the schematic was underground...

What Atomic said, you need to open the tml file, find "embed_into_distance=1" and change the value of 1 to whatever depth you want
I just did a test with Ruins and BoP Release candidate R2 and I got the same results as before; generation of structures from the root Ruins folder in BoP biomes but no structures from folders specifically labeled with the BoP biomes in question. I posted a more detailed explanation with findings from the forge logs on the BoP thread here: http://www.minecraft...0#entry22187413
The short version: According to Forge logs, the number of building attempts seems fine, but it cannot find the BoP biomes when it tries to reference them from the config: [INFO] [STDOUT] Did not find Matching Biome for config string: [Highland]
EDIT: Amnet had me try renumbering my biome IDs so that the BoP biomes start at 23 (essentially leaving no gap after the Vanilla biome IDs) and this worked; I have successfully spawned structures in BoP biomes by giving them corresponding folders and setting them up in the Ruins config!

Look for my first post on the previous page.

Thanks!
Make sure you have the latest "rotation_mappings.txt" in the resources\ruins folder, that should fix up the stairs problem.

hi all
its seems that someone got a solution for Millenarie, so i hope it works with Ruins too.
http://millenaire.org/library/view.php?cid=123
The issue with those "new Biome" mods which don't get Ruins spawned is that they dont use Biomes! I can't fix that. Only their respective authors can
For that matter, the Millenaire "fix" wont work on those either

The Forge log is quite long so I chopped it in half and put both parts on Pastebin.
Part 1: http://pastebin.com/ATwr6nDD
Part 2: http://pastebin.com/kz65QBP0
Hopefully this is helpful!
