It spawn way to often ( to my mind) and i would like to disable it. I dont know its name but i know i managed to disable it last year on my previous home server, but i dont remember how.
hi, .miinecraft/mods/resources/ruins/ocean/Floater.tml like this
In the hopes that it might be useful to people who are going, "What is this ruin and how can I remove it?" I have gone through and taken screenshots of all the generic, ocean, jungle, and nether (hell) structures (including optional) on a superflat 64xminecraft:glass world. Due to randomization, actual instances of a ruin may not appear EXACTLY as portrayed. Also, they may look different in different versions of Minecraft. I didn't include the "obsolete" structures, since they're ... well ... OBSOLETE, right?
hi. me need a help). When I created the world and find structure, doors in buildings properly delivered, but when I create a world and prescribe the structure through the console doors are ideal, what is the problem? I allocate 2 GB of RAM for minecraft.

I am not sure if this directly addresses your problem, but I have experienced problems with structures with double doors when they spawn in normal terrain generation, as even if the doors are properly mapped in the rotationmappings.txt file, there's something about the way that Minecraft handles door placement that messes things up with double doors whenever Ruins tries to spawn a structure rotated either 90 or 270 degrees (AKA rotation 1 or 3). In other words, I would have double doors spawning in the bizarre arrangement you've pictured in your screenshot, whenever my structure was rotated.
I think this is something to do with how Minecraft's inherent logic for handling placed doors, but I'm not sure.
As a workaround, my solution was to include "preventRotation=1" at the start of the template for any terrain-spawned structure of mine that uses double doors.
Example (taken from the header of my "forest/HuntingLodge_1v7v10" template:

Tragically, the 1.9 download on http://www.atomicstryker.net/ruins.php leads me to various malware downloads, and never to the actual mod. A fix for this would be most welcome! I'd love to play with this mod - I remember how much it added to my old games.

This is the sad thing about "free" download sites such as adf.ly. Yes, you CAN actually get the file, but only after the site dangles a few bogus ads from its disreputable sponsors as "click-bait" for a few seconds, and then it will reluctantly let you get what you came for ... if you happen to click in the correct place. It's a wretched model. (But, hey, the ".ly" extension indicates it's in Libya, so maybe these sorts of shenanigans are perfectly legal there, eh?)
Basically, if you go to Atomicstryker's site (link in your quoted message above), and then scroll down to the link for the version of Minecraft you're using (1.9, 1.8, etc.), you'll be taken to an adf.ly page. DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE (yet). The top banner of the page is the only part of the page that is "safe." In the upper left corner will be the little yellow-and-black bee logo of adf.ly. In the upper right corner will be a message "Please wait..." and then a countdown starting with "5 seconds" then 4, then 3, and so on. Anything below this top headline banner is MALWARE CLICK BAIT. It'll say stuff like "Your download is ready!" or "You need to install this update!" or any number of bogus things.
But once the countdown reaches 0, then a yellow button appears in the upper right hand corner that says "SKIP AD" (which might as well say something like "SKIP MALWARE SHARK TANK," but I don't think I've ever actually seen anything remotely resembling an honest-to-goodness ADVERTISEMENT on an ad.fly page).
Clicking on the yellow "SKIP AD" button in the uppermost right corner (and nowhere else) should initiate the download. This should be a ZIP folder, NOT any sort of executable (or, at least, the .jar files are contained therein, and there is no .exe involved). Once you download it to your computer, you can inspect the ZIP folder to make sure you've actually got the Ruins mod bundle.
I wish there were a better way of finding the Ruins mod than taking a stroll through Happy Malware Click Bait Land, but I hope this helps a little bit.

That was a super helpful and informative response. Thanks very much! I think I may not have been waiting long enough to click 'skip ad.' Although it was displayed, clicking it was redirecting me to another site, which was more of the same (and in some cases worse). Waiting several seconds after 'skip ad' appeared before clicking it resulted in a successful download. It also seems like it could be possible that this behavior was a vengeful response to me using adblock.

I've had to disable all three of my adblocks to access any mod I need to update. It's gotten ridiculous how many nasty ads are on that site. If you don't disable adblock it takes you to a spam site and sometimes I've had to shut down my chrome from task manager it locked it up so badly. I wish people would move away from adfly. I use adblock to keep from getting pop up websites, malicious malware and other such things. Being forced to wade into dangerous waters is something I only do for a few mods nowdays.
All three versions of adblock. Which works against just about everything nasty except adfly, haha.
I've never heard of those. >.< If it works I'll gladly add it to my arsenal against invasive ads.
Apparently I need to look into this "Ublock" as an alternative. Presently I am using Adblock Plus. That seemed to work just fine for a while, but now, increasingly, I visit news sites and get some screen-blocking message complaining that, "We know you're not here to look at the ads, but we need it for our revenue! *sob, whine*" Because, apparently, merely placing advertising space on their site isn't really sufficient -- they have to include tracking or whatever other sneaky little "features" with the ads that make me suspect that it's not JUST about advertising that they get their revenue from. It's seriously making me reconsider where I go to get my news from.
Alas, Adf.ly is among the sites that puts up a barrier if I have ad-blocking enabled. Even more frustrating, when I go to reload Ruins, it will put up the roadblock even if I have disabled Adblock Plus for this site. Apparently the mere PRESENCE of Adblock Plus in my browser is enough to set it off. I'm not about to uninstall it entirely just to please one site, so I've had to temporarily switch to another browser entirely (i.e., one without Adblock Plus installed) in order to download when there's a Ruins update. (That's really the only business I have on Adf.ly.)
I use Adblock, Adblock plus, and adblock pro, (Which while I as looking at them to get the names right, Adblock Pro has become Ublock Origin) O.o So I guess I do have some form of Ublock thing.
I use Chrome and I can disable the extensions on the fly so I can wrangle my way through Adflys mess. I don't mind unobtrusive ads, Ones that are relevant and don't pretend to be what I'm looking for. I can't find Biomes O'plenty download without them on, because the link hides between two massive ads that try to download malware. And now with what they use, I can't go to the site with adblockers on.
I whitelist sites that I want to support, I can't afford to Patreon anyone. So those who have ads that aren't crazy with malware I do whitelist,
That said, Ublock Origins (Formerly Adblock Pro because I didn't change anything) still hits the Adfly wall. It's still showing up in my extensions as Adblock Pro, but hovering over the icon shows the new thing. >.<

I've been playing with this mod for a little while now on 1.9, and have noticed that chests don't seem to have loot. I have looked in at least two dozen chests from ruins structures. Exactly one had anything in it. Naturally spawning chests do have loot, however.
I imported my resources folder from an older (1.7.10) game, could that have caused this issue?
not necessarily a lot of light, but I would like to see all the religious things or structures inside.
It may be more windows? or you can change the shape and make a church or monastery. But the idea is cool
too empty, as if there was nothing), the same ruins, should be more realistic and atmospheric
whatever people prefer I designed it myself to be empty and dark to have more of a deserted feel. The glowstone is a nice touch with the fences

this mod really needs to allow height options again.... 1.9 doesnt contain it as of now so i cant make anything fun
also... why isnt there a changelog....
