1.6.4
Forge
SMP
LAN
Yep, in the downloads. (Proper install instructions TBD.)
Bleeding Edge and Stable. Cool
Yeah, the Forge JVM option just keeps it from halting if a base class file is changed, but it still complains - LOUDLY - about each and every class file that's different. No JVM option to make it shut up, unfortunately.
Yeah. The main problem with Magic Launcher, ModLoader and the new launcher: even though it used to work fine with Magic Launcher before, with 1.6.2 ModLoader doesn't seem to find mods in separate jar/zip files, which make Magic Launcher a lot less useful
Hm, I've been able to use it with different game directories. What crash do you get?
And I tested with Optifine but not Shaders, so let me know if that works. For Forged, use Optifine as a library, not in the mods folder.
Indeed! That's why I decided that, while the mod code's been updated to 1.6 but I still don't have good install instructions worked out, it would be better to release for 1.6.2 instead of 1.6.4 so that fewer people would be downloading and whining about how it doesn't work. Seems to have done the trick, at least for the most part
By the way, folks, I'm getting ready to go out of town for a week (to warm sunny Florida! Right now it's 7F where I am, so I'm really looking forward to that.) I'll still have internet access and plan to do some work and mod stuff in more comfortable surroundings, but I'll be pretty much absent while traveling.
Much of the feedback above represents what over half of my server still tells me, even to this day. I am actually tempted to (and probably will) make my own kewt installation guide to help, at least so everyone is on the same page. From my POV, the update is flawless, but I had to use some wizardry and sorcery to get to that point . ^__^;

I really love this mod so I hope you can help me fix this problem.
Thanks for the consideration!
Me and my friends were anxiously awaiting the Return of Gulliver's Mod.
I was just wondering about a possible future-feature:
Would it be possible to have a field in the config allowing to change the Jump Heights and Movement speeds for Different Heights?
Currently (and realistically) a player with a size of 0.125 can jump 0.5 of a Block. Would it be possible to make this ratio configurable? And if possible, the same with Movement speed?
If this isn't possible, Thanks Anyway! This mod is still one of my all-time Favourites!
Second that, I was hoping to get a Forge server going but I can't get it to work.
Ah, the Forge server. Try this:
Run the Forge 871 installer to install the server. You'll end up with a minecraftforge-universal-1.6.2-9.10.1.871.jar in the server folder that you specify to install in. Run that once with so that it creates all the server files and stuff. Now, make a copy of that jar file (call it minecraftforge-universal-1.6.2-9.10.1.871-gulliverforged-0.14.1.jar), and add all the files from the gulliver forged zip file "gulliver-forged-871-universal-0.14.1-MC1.6.2.zip" into it using 7zip or WinRaR. (Yes, the Forge jar file, not the minecraft_server.1.6.2.jar file.) Now, when you run the server, use this command line: Remember that "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true" part! Otherwise Forge won't let the server run at all.
Let me know if that works, so I can use those as Forged server install instructions.
I suppose I should have noticed that in the java arguments that MCPatcher put in.
Aha! So THAT'S where that silly filly Forge installs itself to. ^^
Thanks to your clues, I extrapolated how to set up the forge client without using a fancy schmancy tool like MCPatcher or stuff like that. It is indeed tricky, but perfectly doable -- and I will write up a walkthrough for it to hold us over until the proper installer is ready.
===============
TIll the walkthrough itself is ready, here's the takeaway:
1) Download that version of the forge installer
2) Run the forge installer for the client
3) Dig into minecraft/libraries/net/minecraftforge/minecraftforge/9.10.1.871
4) Open the JAR file inside that folder (minecraftforge-9.10.1.871.jar), and dump you Gulliver Forge files in there
5) In the Minecraft Launcher, set your profile to point to 1.6.2-Forge9.10.1.871
6) In the JVM arguments field below, add in "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true"
7) Hit Play and enjoy

I wrote two manual installation guides covering the installation of the latest Gulliver for both the Modloader and Forge versions. These were written for the players on our Sister Server, but I'm sure it can help some of you as well, and surely can be adapted to some other documentation purposes if necessary.

Feedback is always appreciated, of course. Thank you.

Cia, you're the best. I did the forge instalation that you made, and right now, the sounds are finally returning
installation:
step 1 download gullliver mod and put it in your clean 1.6.2.jar
step 2 download and install minecraft forge(modloader may work to i just tested with forge)
step 3 enable jvm arguments(while the forge profile is selected click edit profile)
step 4 copy and paste this text into your jvm arguments: -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true
-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
step 5 launch and enjoy
ps. can you work on 1.6.4
Frustrated with a mod and need help?, Then click here
sans avatar i get it before you just go out and yell undertale fanboy at me tell me 1 good reason why that's terrible
if it's too lighthearted the game gets more dark and serious in the later parts and genocide
haha, glad my guides ended up being useful for people outside our server. That's great news!
lol... I'll take issues like that any day.
oh, and glad the installation guides were helpful. ^^
Aww, thanks Flamm! You know I always look out for my peeps [I just need a little time is all].
I will be using the forge version as well, mainly because I want to try out other things like NEI and such. Eventually we will make a decision on whether to switch the whole server to forge, and take advantage of new modding opportunities. ^^
[not LittleBlocks, though, bleh] XD
IANAE, but if you MUST use the Technic tool, perhaps that's a question you can ask the Tekkit people. They should know of a means to attach some custom JVM arguments.
If so, please report your findings here so we'll know how to answer that in the future. ^^
Ah okay, at least I know it's possible to do a really really forced base install. XD
Based on Mion's guidelines, though, the approach used in my guide will install Gulliver without messing with the Minecraft base classes (and thus, breaking the Mojang terms and such, or so they say). Since this is technically the "kosher" way of doing it (per the Forge people), I highly recommend you give it a try. [you also need only one JVM argument if using that approach] ^^
