O: !!! yay! Btw, have you thought of making a game rule to disable the tiny player speed boost for people who want to do little blocks without wearing gold armor? Or if that seems unnecessary, what level of the slowness debuff would simulate wearing the gold armor? Ermahgerd and what if i made a gulliver texture pack that made all the weapons tiny! SO MUCH IDEAS!
[edit]
Oh thanks forge, they took out all of the 1.6.2 forge as well. Thats a slap in the face.

Oh yes, I thought about that ages ago. But gamerules only live on the server end, so the player clients can't "know" about the rule to move slower; hence the gold-armor checking. Maybe some of the newer MC Attribute features could be useful for enforcing that, but that'll take more investigation to be sure.

bit less of a slap but can't say if the library downloads will work here either
Oh, so that's what you meant by Forge library downloads! I thought that was about the external libraries Forge downloads itself when it's installed or run. Yeah, those links on the Forge legacy downloads page should still work; at least, the few I tried at random were fine.

I don't know what slowness debuff level would simulate the weight of gold armor, or if it would even apply to jump height as well as sideways movement. There's always sneaking (though that makes you jump higher), or holding a Slimeball if you've got one...

What you could do is send a packet to have the clients all sync up with the server setting, or just have it be a per player rule that they can toggle
Sheesh, that's annoying. Was there any sort of announcement about this? Is it possible that they unlinked the libs by accident, or moved files around?
EDIT: After investigating the libraries and json files, it looks like the vanilla Minecraft profiles from 1.5.2 on already grab the ASM library from their default archive under the name "asm-all-4.1.jar", but the Forge 737 installer adds a probably redundant library "asm-4.1-all.jar". That would explain why they don't have that file anymore, but it's a shame that the profile launch fails as a result. I'll see if there are other problematic libraries. Pity they don't update the older Forge installers for things like this...
Its complicated. They have made modding a little bit harder. But check your versions folder. Thats a start.Oh yeah, UncleMion, will gulliver forge be released to 1.6.2 with the release of normal gulliver 1.6.2?

Oh yeah, UncleMion, will gulliver forge be released to 1.6.2 with the release of normal gulliver 1.6.2?
Yes, there'll be Gulliver, Gulliver Server, and Gulliver Forged, same as usual.
On the question of whether modding's gotten harder: For myself, the 1.6 Minecraft code changes aren't too bad, but trying to figure out how to work with the new launcher has been pretty distracting. That should get better with time and practice, though.
I imagine the main issue for many modders is that the new launcher/tweaker system makes it easier to mod without touching the Minecraft jar, but right now doing complex mods may involve learning how to make tweakers and custom class loaders, do ASM code injection, etc. These are more advanced Java programming topics.
What I don't have yet are decent installation instructions for the new launcher! I'm working on that, but boy is it tricky...
If you're already familiar with installing mods on the new launcher, for non-Forge Gulliver you need to copy the versions\1.6.2 folder, rename it and the json and jar files within to match, then remove META-INF from the jar, pop in the files from the ModLoader 1.6.2 zip, then the files from other jar mods (including Optifine if you want it! Don't install it as a library!), then the files from the Gulliver zip. The Forged version is more complicated.
...Anyway, once you manage to get this installed, you can play with Horsies and Leashes! Enjoy!
EDIT: Things to try:
- When tiny, leash yourself to a Squid, hold a Lily Pad, and go waterskiing!
- Tame a horse, make it and you huge or tiny, and go racing around!
Hello Mion!
Thank you for the release! I wish there had been more fanfare, but I was very much sound asleep at the time. XD
First thing... *pops champagne bottle*
I have a little surprise for you later, but for now I am going to try and install this on my client and our server. I am having some trouble with that version of modloader you posted, as it causes Minecraft to hang at the mojang screen (with or without META_INF). I will try to find an alternate download, if that is the issue.
Thanks again! ^^
EDIT: Never mind, turns out it may be an issue with that release, since it insisted on trying to put Modloader.class into /java/lang for some odd reason. Tried to manually fix that a number of times, but failed. Then I discovered this Modloader "patch":
After installing Modloader 1.6.2, if I remove the "jar" folder it creates, install the above patch, then install your latest Gulliver release, then it works beautifully. I wish I could explain why,... this was all mainly trial and error. ^^;
Hello. I'm also proud to confirm that the server version of 1.6 works beautifully as well, and is alive and kicking on the Gunia Sister Server as we speak. Despite the holiday season, we still get some daily traffic, so hopefully we'll be able to offer some valuable feedback as far as bugs and such, if any.
Thank you again for your hard work, Mion! Please check your email, as our small token of our appreciation has already been forwarded to you. ^^
You gotta be kidding me!!! i have wanted the mod so long together with little blocks and what happens then?! you make it to the only version little blocks not have! D: D: D: :`(
http://slimevoid.net/old-versions/ There ya go. Get the latest 1.6.2 version in the list, along with its SVLIB. You don't need the Forge version there (804), it works with 871.

Welp, off to attempt a server install too.
Thanks for the trial and error installing... it's annoying, I know ^^; Glad to hear that one ModLoader patch by computerdog helps.
I also need to finish writing up the changelog for the release (there's more to it than "updated to 1.6.2"...)
The real trick for moving to 1.6.4 will be working out how to do without ModLoader at all So I'll probably stay on 1.6.2 for the next release or so to get that squared away, figure out some decent installation instructions, and hopefully make an installer or two. There will definitely be a 1.6.4 release before 1.7.2, since 1.6.4 converts world files to work properly in 1.7.
Great that it's working well on the server! Just to let you know, I haven't received your email yet (checked my spam folders even.)
Well although I'm stuck at work, the general feedback from the afternoon players on the server has been nothing but love and admiration... and lots of squid surfing, apparently.
There are a few questions/potential bugs, but I'll compile a list of them, and forward them to you much later today, for the sake of convenience. ^^
Modloader issues were kind of a shock to me, since typically it's a lot more cooperative,... even with the new launcher. The reason I haven't broadcast the use of this patch among my players is because there's a small chance that the JAR issue was caused by my peculiar setup. I'm running Ubuntu Linux atop a Crouton chroot environment, parallel to ChromeOS on a Chromebook Pixel (try saying that 3 times!), so I'm hardly the face of your average player. ^^;
The users who have managed to log onto our server did so without checking the forum OR this thread, so chances are it's not an issue in Windows or Mac. ^^
As far as Modloader is concerned...
Our decision to use it is based on the fact we're a parallel sister server to Gunia's Gulliver server, which uses Modloader... which in turn was chosen due to ease of installation compared to Forge. However, if future Minecraft versions null and void this advantage, then I see no reason why we would not eventually switch to the Forge version. I know a couple of our players who would be ecstatic from the news... mainly the ones trying to coerce me into turning our Sister Server into Gulliver's Toe 2.0 (which I'd rather not).
And that's rather odd... perhaps I should've said "check your Paypal" instead, hehe. ^^;
I will follow up with you in private.

1.6.2 comes first.
