Ah hah. I know your problem. You are trying extract the files into another winrar/winzip window. Use your normal windows explorer as the place where you drag the files to. Does this make sense?
I have made the mistake a couple times. When you try that it tries to zip up the files and puts them in that location.
Yeah, I kinda get what you're saying. At least I was right that minecraft wasn't reading EE2 right- its the only mod I use that doesn't use a .zip archive and instead uses an executable .jar file- I was indeed trying to put the .zip archive directly into the mods folder. Now that I've gotten that sorted, it works!
Many thanks to you Sothe for the help! I feel a little less like an idiot now that I see where I erred. Hope I can return the favor someday.

No problem, I just wish I was able to help sooner.
I have an NPE, http://pastebin.com/LHt1pLMA. Could you help ? Irc revealed, that it happend becaused I used volcanite with deployer. But npe poped up after second usage after server's restart... i think.
Doesn't matter the order. They don't share any files, and therefore won't overwrite each other.
I also just drag the contents of one .zip file, into the other .zip file. I never extract anything except for the EE one to get the .jar and resource folder.
Funny enough, the first time I did the drag 'n drop for Modloader, AudioMod, then Forge in that order, I got a pop-up asking if I wanted the Forge files to overwrite something, and I assumed that was AudioMod files. I probably screwed up the drag and drop.
On a side note, forget the OP'ed collectors, condensers, klein stars, weapons, and armors, etc. The single most useful item in EE2 is the freaking Talisman of Repair! Works on EVERYTHING including all the stuff from my other mods, so all my goodies stay fresh and dandy.
Great mod, major props to xeno and pah. At first I was leery of the overpowered items, but I enjoy the process of getting to those items even if I won't use most of them, and the process seems pretty well balanced so far.

The drag and drop would have worked if you let the computer overwrite it. Forge is attempting to overwrite minecraft classes like it's supposed to.

Hey, I've noticed a kinda annoying bug when playing. I play on a laptop, and sometimes I play with an Internet connection, sometimes I play Minecraft offline. Because of this, my Alchemical Bag inventory is different depending on whether I play online or offline. This is because EE saves a file in a folder called "data" in your save file called bag_usernameBag#.dat, or for me as I use the red bag which is data value 14, my bag file is saved as bag_sgtchuckle11714.dat. However, as Minecraft cannot download the player's username or data when playing offline, then when I play offline and use an AlchBag, then it saves the Bag's inventory in a file called bag_PlayerBag#.dat, or for my red bag bag_Player14.dat. That means that if I filled a bag with stacks of RM when I was online, then when I played offline my bag would be empty and I would not be able to access any of my yummy stuff. If I am playing offline and I want to access any items in my AlchBag put in there during online play, I have to go into my .minecraft/Saves/Survival World/Data, duplicate bag_sgtchuckle11714.dat and rename the copy to bag_Player14.dat. It is, needless to say, annoying. However, could you remedy it? I thought of a way that might work, if you saved the data for the bag as bag_PlayerBag#.dat whether the player played offline or online. Then, they'd be able to access the bag no matter what their Internet status. Thanks, Pahimar.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Random acts of petty fanboyish hatred?

Sorry, I should've been clearer. I let the normal overwrite do it's thing, but I got a SECOND, different-looking pop-up after that first one that asked me if I wanted to merge two folders and was very different from the normal overwrite pop-up window I get for drag n' drop. I did let it overwrite in that instance, but that was one of my failed attempts early on. Like I said, I probably hit something or inadvertently dragged and dropped into another folder or something. I installed the core three mods normally (with the usual pop-up windows for overwrite and never saw that second one show up) from there on out without a problem. Turns out it was just how I was putting EE2 into the mods folder that was putting up a hissy fight.

A folder merge? I don't get those often. Except when trying to put NEI into a forge jar. Then it happens to me. Otherwise? not really.

Well, I found thousands of vids on youtube where people play BTW and EE together with no problems, how do they do?
Why not ask them on youtube then , I'm gonna take a wild guess that these are all relatively old videos? From back when BTW was part of forge? I could be wrong though. Plus I'm wondering why you'd want to mix EE and Better than Wolves anyways, for me their style of playing is totally different and don't really go together. (That's just my opinion of course)
Hey, Pahimar, I apologize if this bug has already been brought up, but if not, it was present in 1.2.3., as well.
I'm able to play EE2 with no problems except one...
...None of the sounds for the items work.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - I've got all the necessities (Modloader, Audiomod, Forge, et. al), and it doesn't prevent me from playing the game at all - it just loses a bit of its charm.
A few other mods I have running right now are Rei's Minimap, Wireless Redstone (and the wireless transmitter), Treecapitator, Thaumcraft 2, Craftguide and Inventory Tweaks. All of these also work fine with Minecraft, and TC2's sounds work normally.
In fact, when I was playing back in 1.2.3 with IC2, Buildcraft, and Redpower 2 installed, about the only sounds that DIDN'T work were those associated with EE2.
Am I forgetting to do something?

This is a signature. I didn't intend it to be, but it is.

Did you put the included resources folder in your .minecraft directory?

Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.
When's the next version coming out? How do you install this version? It crashes when I click on the ground, when are you going to fix that?
I do love posting that.
Anyway, I'm back playing Minecraft again, is this mod still awesome? Last time I used it was in the beta and it rocked then, flying, invulnerability from lava and the ability to carve out huge chunks from the land it one swoop was great fun.

How dare you question this mod's awesomeness! You shall be flogged for that! Oh there are several new ways to utterly destroy the terrain, kill mobs, make farms, and blow stuff up since beta days.

I've had a quick glance over the wiki and it looks like quite a bit has changed. There appears to be a lot more done with the dust from the beginning now (although I think I took an atypical approach last time and hardly used it at the start) and from what I can recall (from looking last night) the Philosiphore's Stone does a lot less, at least w.r.t crafting.
I think I'll install it again tonight and have a good play about.

EDIT: Huh. I guess I didn't, after all. Now the sounds are working again. Thanks, guys!
