so what's the highest and most efficient tier of energy storing item i can use to power my tools? Like redstone dust is extremely inefficient because the tools consume a vast quantity per use and you need to keep dozens of stacks just to keep them powered for long enough. Is a Klein Star the best energy source item? Or is there any better?
Any Klein Star will do as a power source. Even the smallest. As you build up your EMC-condensing system you will have enough energy. Put some stacks of something valuable into the burning slot of a transmutation table. Then pull out one Klein Star on the right side. Then put this KS in one of the slots on the left (input) side of the TMT and suck up the leftover energy of the TMT with the KS.
The best energy storing item is the "Klein Star Omega". You will need at least 2 stacks à 64 red matter each to create it and fill it completly when following the steps above. Maybe 2 stacks are not enough when the TMT is completely empty.
You can always start with a "Klein Star Ein" and upgrade it with 3 other KSEs to the next power level. The contained power is conserved in this process. A KSE is enough for flying and building or digging. But you will see the energy bar draining. If you have some energy condensing "flowers" made of collectors, relays and a condenser chest (millions of youtube videos about that) you will never run out of EMC.
I run a mac, and this won't work for me, I have Modloader, ModloaderMP, and Forge, and even some other mods that use Forge that work! Just not EE2, it really bugs me because I really like this mod. Any help?
My right-click function does nothing on any Red Matter tool (I'm assuming the case is the same with Dark Matter tools) EXCEPT for ore veins. My tools mine those with no problem when right-clicking. But right-clicking does nothing on stone or dirt or sand. I tried the Morning Star and Hammer on stone and the Shovel on Dirt and Sand. What's up with that?? And yes, I had them fully charged.
edit: well i just learned that EE uses Redstone Dust as a fuel for its tools and rings to use their special abilities. Well is there a way to compact all this fuel? Maybe a higher tier of fuel than Redstone? I don't wanna have to carry around stacks of redstone dust if I could have the equivalent amount of fuel in a single item slot.
Uh unless they changed it for the latest version, Red matter tool doesn't need a power source. Its all free.
Hope everything is going well with the mod folks. Haven't used it in a wee while but thought I'd just stop by whilst the servers are down and see what the latest is. The re-write sounds interesting and the ability for other modders to add EMC values will be a welcome addition I'm sure (although how you'll stop this feature being abused is a mystery).
I know requests are frowned upon but I do have a quick one I hoped you could take care of. Could you close the brackets on the front page post at:

Cheers Pahimar, hope all is well with you as well.
So google only gives me like 3 responses to this search and only the first one of any relevance, to a person on this thread that asked back on page 93, but never received a response. Does anyone know a way to modify the EE2 philosophers stone to function with redpower basalt and marble?
EDIT: For those who may come across this in the future. After some research and digging, it appears as though this is more of a red power 2 issue with the way she handles basalt, than an issue with EE. And I'm pretty sure marble is out of the question, as she appears to treat it as an ore rather than a regular block (and since the philosopher's stone doesn't work on ores...).
EE is my favorite mod,and i'm glad were getting an update for 1.4.2 ...i really hate having to use items that are unrenewable..and ee fixes that problem and i like all the power items and alchemical chests and bags and such. Now that EE is soon to beupdated to the current minecraft version,i don't have to use the technic launcher to get my EE anymore! ...hmm.i must now go ask the creators of pixelmon if thyed consider adding emc values for their items added in to the mod.. ^-^
hey i have an idea for modpack, it's kind of a new feature,
why don't you make an AI in EE3 that reads and understand crafting/smelting/brewing recipes from other mods according to the EMC value of the items used to craft it,
Ex: a mod adds an electric Diode,
to make this you need to smelt redstone in a furnace, to a get a electric wire, which has an EMC value of 64
then you make this shape in a crafting table
E-S-E--> Anode head
*so the value is 64x4+12= 256+12= 268
now this recipe
S-R-E--> Cathode head
*the 2nd value is 64x3+12+64=268
now the final recipe is
E: electric wire
so the final value will be 268x2+1x2+64=602
your AI would be able to do all these calculations, but better, because it's an AI it would be able to count a lot faster, AKA:when loading the game
*sorry if my english is hard to understand*
in short: make an EMC value Detector that detecs values from other mods, please!
