To summarize: this mod allows you to transmute tons of materials into other materials. It adds a lot of what is classified by many as "endgame content", to make you feel more godlike in your sandbox world. If this offends your Minecrafting sensibilities, this may not be the mod for you.
These items are psychotically expensive, so before you bash them, try acquiring the items legitimately. You'll find it's not exactly a cakewalk.

EAQ (Excessively Asked Questions How can I add my own EMC values for my other mod items? Is there a config file or something I need to update?
We don't have something like this in right now, but it is something I'm working on in my larger rewrite of the mod. In the meantime pwnedgod has updated his CustomEMC addon for EE2. You can find it here; Client. Server.
Can I use this mod in my modpack?
Generally as long as you do not 1) profit from the modpack and 2) modify the source of this mod in the modpack you have my permission to include the mod in your modpack. I do still appreciate being asked however.
I'd think this new feature would be awesome! You should add it! or Are you adding anything new?
Features/items/etc in EE2 are generally "frozen," meaning that unless it is a game breaking bug it's not a high priority for me right now. I am not adding new features to EE2; I am just maintaining it at the moment. All of my development time is currently on EE3 which is a complete rewrite of the mod from the ground up, with lots of rebalancing and changes to items/blocks. Look for more information as the development of EE3 progresses.
When will EE2 (or EE3) be out for MC X.Y.Z?
The short answer is when it's ready. Whenever Minecraft has a major release, it takes time for the dependencies that mods have update. When all of those are updated, the modders can update their mods. Depending on the amount of changes it can take some time. Be patient - we're aware the update happened and are very likely very busy working on the update.
Will you update EE2 for MC 1.3.2?
I have decided to focus on getting EE3 out for MC 1.3.2 as fast as possible, and then I'll revisit updating EE2 for MC 1.3.2. I strongly believe that EE3 will be more balanced (and hopefully more fun!) than EE2, and I want to get it to you sooner than later.
Where can I get updates on EE3 development?
I'm almost always on #ee on irc.esper.net, as well as #direwolf20. You can also find me on Twitter (@Pahimar).
How did you learn Java? How did you learn to mod?
I studied Computer Science in university where we used Java predominately (as well as C, Haskell, etc). As for how/where did I learn how to mod, I read and followed tutorials on the Minecraft Forums and (politely) asked for advice/help on the various modding channels on irc.esper.net. Specifically, #mcp-modding and #minecraftforge were very helpful.
Also, look around for Open Source mods to see how they work. BuildCraft is a notable one, and I am developing EE3 to be Open Source as well (both on GitHub).
Known Bugs/Exploits
1. Transmutation Tables sometimes don't work properly in SMP (especially with MystCraft).
2. Placing items that have EMC values but are not blocks in the Mercurial Eye cause Minecraft to crash.
3. Stone Slab exploit; Yup. I know about it. I can't do anything about it in EE2. Look for the fix in EE3.
4. IC2 Macerator exploit(s); See Stone Slab exploit.

Troubleshooting/Help How to Troubleshoot
Make sure that you followed the Installation instructions properly. If you are having problems installing, start over with a fresh Minecraft jar and load up Minecraft after every step in the installation. This will help you figure out where things went wrong in the installation.
Run the Minecraft Error Test Script. This is the first piece of information any of us will need to see in order to help you with your problem if you can't figure it out yourself. If your computer opens it up in Notepad then you need to change the file extension from ".bat.txt" to ".bat". Follow the instructions here to help you do that.
Another more full featured troubleshooting utility for Minecraft (which also works on Mac and Linux/Unix) can be found here.

Risugami, for your modloader, for your irc channel, and all your help with both.
The Yogscast (specifically Simon and Lewis), for their extremely flattering praise of the mod, which has gained it the immense popularity it has lately received. I owe you guys for the spotlight, big time.
303, for homing arrows and BaseProjectile. You're made of win.
Player and RichardG, for not just being supportive of SMP, but sharing knowledge of IC2 to help make EE SMP a reality. I owe you guys.
Eloraam, just because. I've learned more from studying her methods than I think anyone else I've studied. She's also just plain cool.
TheThirdMike, author of RWays, CastleDoors and Garages, for his props file, which I stole in my pathetic beginnings, and still feel bad about.
iChun - I used the portal gun projectile for EntityPyrokinesis. Codewise, they were once suspiciously similar. They're so heavily modified now, I'm not sure iChun belongs on the list. Here he is anyways!
Alblaka - ITNT was the model for Nova Catalyst, and I also use his "sun" image from solar collectors in my Aggregator. Alblaka's mod was my inspiration for modding in the first place, really, and his code has taught me more than I can list here.
The Testers of which there are so many to name, many of whom are already on this list. Cyco, GeminiRai, Cale, WayOfTime and mDiyo put the most time into this one, so HUGE THANKS.
Cyco for his "LootBall" suggestion for saving people lag and misery.
DamionRayne(aka NavyRayne) designed the very mysterious block that currently doesn't have a use. Be patient.
Nandonalt for teaching me that recipes will accept an itemstack with a "-1" durability.
SmallDeadGuy (xSmallDeadGuyx) for Diamond Furnace, which I used as a model for mine, eons ago.
Corosus for pointing out that ItemBucket.class contains a wealth of information on player heading. It still comes in handy to this day.
TheMorgeh for his "Earth Wand", which I tore apart to make wall manipulation functions. They don't look anything like his, now, but I felt him worth mentioning.
grimarchangel gets a special thanks for taking the time and preparation to make videos for this mod, some time ago. He's the source of a lot of the first ideas in the mod. Also thank you for heavy testing and constant input!
mDiyo gets a special thanks for breaking things constantly and helping me fix them, constant input on ideas and balancing suggestions, and generally being all around helpful and wintastic. He also made the sprites for the Klein Star, and he's a huge help with coding. He's just helpful all around really.
MidnightLightning for the awesome GUI of the Transmutation Grid AND the Collector. And for lots and lots of work on the wiki. Seriously, amazing work. And he keeps making them better!
limitless285 for the great mod banners, they really have a minecraft-feel to them, which I tremendously dig. Feel free to add the banner to your sig, I don't think he'll mind. :3
DireWolf20 and KaijHatesCurse for the KICK ASS let's plays and tutorials, they are definitely worth watching.
Fudgy Fetus gets a special thanks for the activation sprites, representing the rings which require activations. This makes the items much more transparent in their usage.
MatteotheHumbleMiner gets a special thanks for being constantly supportive and keeping my morale up when I was (and frequently am) intensely frustrated, and in general for being a tester and a fan.
aymanar, zHESSTY, EternalDensity, HumdrumInsanity, WayOfTime, Daseku and other fans who have helped me balance and tweak my designs.
Infinitysamurai for saying "hey, you should get a wiki!" - And then we did. Posted Image
ALL WIKI ORGANIZERS for.. being wiki organizers, duh.
Adam222 who has single handedly done more on the wiki than anybody, except the guy who took, cropped and spritesheeted all the pictures. Oh yeah, that was me.
Tyrecius for his awesome work on recipe formatting scripts and...
Chrometheus for most of the work on 6.0 wiki content being done by him before it was even released.
Caden Donuts and Ruyan for their work on the Sphax texture pack!
ShadwDrgn (aka MisterShakie) for letting us crash at his pad (server) and being awesome support, and also awesome vids. And the SSH and test server. And just being a friend. You rock Shakie.
genshou for not calling my idea teh suck, when I was just starting.
Sengir for working with me on the Forestry addon.
florastar for helping me work out the Forestry addon EMC values.
And as importantly, thanks to ALL OF YOU who download the mod, suggest new content, vote on polls, read my ramblings, and show their appreciation! I wouldn't be making anything public if it weren't for the lot of you.
Texture Packs
Caden Donuts has created a Sphax addon for Equivalent Exchange. Thanks to him and Ruyan for supporting the pack and others. If you're using Sphax rockin' texture pack and would like the EE stuff to match, it already exists.
I run a mac, and this won't work for me, I have Modloader, ModloaderMP, and Forge, and even some other mods that use Forge that work! Just not EE2, it really bugs me because I really like this mod. Any help?
Congrats on your EE2 inheritance!
This is a mod that has kept my addiction to Minecraft fueled for longer than I can remember. I know you will bring great things to this mod, as well as refine and perfect the original core material. I look very much forward to seeing all you do with your new found permissions and I know I speak for the whole community when I say that this mod has as bright of a future now as it ever has and we will be supporting you and your work as this transition progresses.

I personally love the ID numbers. I dont know how its possible, but i have about 6 diifferent mods running, 4 of them very large including millenaire, EE2, Balkon's weapons mod, Explosives+, and apothecarium. However, i will delete one with out a doubt if needed so i can use this mod if the update adds any items/blocks, short of perhaps millenaire.

So, are there any changes going on in this update? Any planned updates?
@Scout: I got you beat; I'm running EE, RP2, InfiCraft (now THERE's a few thousand ID's wasted), Millenaire, Portal Gun (SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! to you too, ElusiveHawk), Kaivator's (I know I spelled that wrong >.>) Super Slopes, Extra Biomes XL, BuildCraft, Doggy Talents, Balkon's Weaponmod, and a few minor ones including my own. And obviously it's all compatible

I'm still waiting on MystCraft to get Forge compatibility patches back up, mDiyo to update his 4096 block IDs patch to the latest Forge that IndustrialCraft 2 requires, and I'm also waiting for TehKrush and DrZhark to update their mods. So it's not even my full mod setup yet.
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention ComputerCraft. And Tomes.
Would it be possible to have EMC-Values of Mod items calculated from their recipes, if all of the crafting components have an assigned value or can themselves be calculated? Adding everything to the Transmutation Table is unnecessary and would clutter the interface, but being able to at least use the burn slot or an AMR would be so helpful for recycling leftover pipes and other things that are crafted in batches.
Darn, at least I am on the second page.
Best of luck with this thread! I know this mod will be in good hands!
Edit: By the way, will you allow me to post my videos of my LP concerning this mod? I might aswell ask permission before bombarding this thread daily! (Heaven forbid I already do that normally)
The road will be long and unmerciful. Waves of baww sharks fresh out of the noob sea on your east. The endless undecipherable chattering of pious followers on your 6. The troll horde on your west. Taking on such a task will grant you no tangible prize, but a solid legend for other modders to follow.
