Can you make some statues and maybe some blocks with Greek letters, Egyptian hieroglyphs ,some stone blocks with metal reinforcements around the corners, more brick pattern options wouldbe awesome too. this is neat it always bothered me that there was so little diversity to the building materials =)
Yes, and No
I can easily do the textures and add them to Blockalot without taking up any more IDs but then you get the issue of filling up the sprite sheet. At the moment Minecraft natively supports just 1 sprite sheet for blocks. This is severely limiting but also, in my opinion, good for the better modders who place some thought into the mods and don't just fill it up for the sake of looking like a big mod. More sprites (blocks and items) means less room for other mods in the users game.
There are options to get around this, Forge API is one of them but to me they are not ideal nor a path I wish to choose. I know Mojang have extra sprite capabilities in mind, along with the code fixes to enable far more Block IDs and will be waiting till those are done.
I would love to just do the textures you want and throw them in the mod for you but with the above limits coupled with my desire to not just become a quantity over quality modder I shall, for now, have to resist. Sorry
Just wanted to thank everyone who downloaded Blockalot. I am incredibly surprised by its popularity and very happy at the amount of server downloads especially. All those who have supported this mod by saying so or just using it have inspired me to do more and learn more.
Doesnt work It says an error report, i cant copy it because it just closes it instantly
It works, so you either had issues installing it or it conflicts, probably IDs or sprite sheet related. As Pinkemma says, I need you to copy/paste the Modloader.txt file in here so I can see the error. I can't help you get it working with out information.
Thats what is written in the modloader.txt Hope it will help because i really want this mod, its very good
Yep, it did
You forgot to install ModLoaderMP
Just head to SDKs thread (linked on my front page) and install ModLoaderMP (just drag his files into the minecraft.jar same as you did normal ModLoader)
My mod requires both because then just one install can run both SSP and SMP.
Installing ModLoaderMP should have no conflicts with your other mods and it should work just fine then.
Slot 202 is already occupied by BlockGoldBrick@4810f0a0 when adding mods.blockalot.BlockBlockalot@5025bd56
Now you have a ID conflict. Taking bricks+ out will also fix it or do the stuff below.
If brick+ doesn't have a config file, mine does. Just go in the config folder in .minecraft and change ID 202 to another ID that doesn't conflict. This happens when to many mods use the same IDs.
*edit* After having a quick look at bricks + I am not surprised it conflicts...
Hey, Thank you. I'm no modder but I've thought of this ages ago. I saw an early version for MCbeta1.3 that has never showed up again till now.
I take my diamond helmet of too you, this is great. Keep it coming.

Cheers man.
Yeah, I went looking for an SMP version of this a bit back and realised there was a drought of good ones for SSP and SMP, that's one reason Blockalot is here. Not enough SMP mods about, period!
I reckon the trend is for more choice in the poll, so next MC version (1.2.4) will come with a Blockalot package including Paintable Planks and Wool and a separate Paintable Planks and Wool Mod for those with less IDs, Sprite field etc (or just don't want my lovely blocks ).
Depending on when 1.2.4 hits reality I shall endeavour to upgrade Blockalot to V4 also.
Hello, have you looked into forge it gives you unlimited sprite id #s so you add more stuff =) like brown mud bricks and something to do with my extra dirt

No need coupled with not wanting to use anything forge related for various reasons. With the changes Mojang are making adding in extra textures will be very easy and won't clash as easily. Unfortunately this means a shed load of lazy mods will be out that never even bother with metadata fields to make them optimal. Swings and roundabouts, as they say.
Seems like the ID-resolving config doesn't work at all - tried changing conflicting block IDs there, seemingly to no effect, the values stay fixed, no matter what i do, same thing goes for server-side config (although I've seen many other mods where changes are effective only for client-side config).
P.S. I'm using 1.2.5 and I'm trying to set up a small server with your amazing mod.
Hi,
Did you change both the server and client side at the same time?
I'll take a look, it was tested but I could have missed something.
Hey I made a Modspotlight of your Mod (). It would be great of you to put it up with your Mod post on these forums.
Thankyou,
SoulSalsaSoul
That.Is.Awesome.
Seriously, thank you mate. I laughed hard at that (for the right reasons), one of the better mod spotlights I have seen and not because it's my mod in there!
It on the main post and I already commented on YouTube

Blockalot and Paintable Wood are now separate Mods for ease of use and choice.
Both run together or separately perfectly fine.
There is no 1.2.4 version, I didn't see the point in coding for it due to its limited life span.
Extra config conditions added to save IDs should you need to.
Thanks
I picture a pink castle, with pink floors!
