Have you ever thought about why Cocoa beans are used only for crafting cookies and coloring wool? Have you ever wanted to grow more food? Have you missed cocoa in Minecraft? Then this mod is just for you!
And did you miss coffee? Well, no more! I added coffee too!
Rarity of cocoa trees and coffee plants are changeable via config file located in .minecraft/config/reaper_cocoacraft.
Basic info:
This simple mod adds cocoa trees, which you can find in forests or jungles. You can harvest them to obtain cocoa beans and cocoa tree saplings. Then you can grow your own trees! But why? This mod also adds possibility to craft mugs and drink milk and cocoa!
You can also find coffee plants. You can obtain coffee seeds from them. These seeds can then be smelted to obtain roasted seeds. Then just pour water into mugs, add coffee seeds and enjoy your fresh coffee! You can even plant the seeds(they must be next to the water on tilled field. Once planted, you can walk across them as you want, you won't trample them). Coffee plants can be found in forests, jungles and on plains.

Installation:
To install Forge, download Forge universal and launch the application.
To install CocoaCraft, go to C:/Users/Yourusername/AppData/Roming/.minecraft/mods/ and put the whole archive(do not unzip it!) into this folder.
If the folder mods is not there, launch Minecraft after installation of Forge once and it should create the folder.
Changelog:
1.64 - Fixed coffee plants not breaking when player breaks bottom block. Mugs with milk, cocoa and coffee will not get emplty when drank in creative mode
1.63 - Cocoa saplings now don't grow instantly when you use bonemeal on them, instead they react as other saplings(green particles and have certain chance of growing)
1.62 - Fixed bug that caused cocoa saplings to grow into water blocks, coffee plants can now be trampled, fixed bug causing coffee plant to break during world generation, changed texture for cocoa sampling

i like it... although i don't approve the recipes..
mugs should be created by using clay in a bucket pattern (resulting into 2 clay mugs) then smelt them in the furnace.
also the 'filling the mug'recipes should be shapeless with 1 mug(empty) is to one bucket (milk/water). but make the mug reusable after used.
then the coffee recipe would be roasted coffee beans+sugar+mug(water)=1 mug(coffee)
also...
water should recover 0.5 hunger
and coffee should recover 1 hunger and make swiftness last for 1 min
and since it's 'cacao'craft... make a chocolate flavored cake! with a cake in the middle surrounded by cacaos!
and make the empty mug throwable like a snowball with 0.5 damage. just for laughs (or you can make it so that they can be placed for aesthetic purposes)
these are just suggestions to better balance things. no harm intended... i like coffee so i'll bookmark this mod

This seems like a good idea, I just wanted to make this mod really simple (do not add many things), as this is just a small mod. My main project is in my signature

I like this one I think that I keep the filling mugs with water/milk as it is now, but I change it so you would need 1 cocoa beans for 1 cocoa and 1 roasted coffe seeds + 1 sugar + 1 mug with water for coffe. What do you think about it?

I'm not sure here... for now, water only adds the hunger coefficient, so it takes longer before you get hungry instead of replenishing your hunger bar. Also I don't want coffee to be overpowered. I like 0.5 hunger, but I consider increasing the duration of the effect

that's why i stated 'empty' mugs... but yeah that shelf mod can do just fine too.Ima wait for the clay mug recipe... since I'm using a mod that makes iron as rare as diamond and everything else rarer. (other than coal).. thanks for answering...

Also, I hunted down a couple Cocoa trees and planted the sprouts, the trees grew and I "pruned" one but the leaves won't grow back, I have a barren cocoa log pole, was this intended?

That is really strange, it works fine for me, so I have no idea how to fix it You can try to redownload it and reinstall, but that is all I can suggest.

Yes, they work exactly like regula trees, except that they drop cocoa beans.

But I've had simular problems with coffee in both 1.2.3 & 1.2.4 Versions.
1) Coffee plants drop seeds instead of growing, I get two seeds when plant attempts to grow. Is there an altitude requirement? It was also common to find seeds, rather than plants (1.2.3). In 1.2.4, I have found taller plants, but whole plant drops when I attempt to harvest tops.
2) Coffee recipe shows up ok in 'recipe book' but doesn't work. Upon crafting attempts, nothing comes up in the product box (1.2.3 & 1.2.4).
If there's a log I can send you to help, let me know. Growth problem and crafting glitch are easy to duplicate (consistant).

EDIT: My coffee plants were on corners of water, my bad, I'll retry (like cane),Sorry. this may also explain why I find seeds in wild, no water near. You should address this in Worldgen file.

The problem with coffee plant is that it requies water next to it. So if you find one generated and you break the top, the rest of the blocks update and they break. I may remove the water requirement in the future.
To the recipe problem - a lot of people had this problem, unfortunatelly I have no idea how to fix this, because it works fine on my computer I maybe try to ask someone to take a look at my code, because this is very annoying.

I disagree at this point. Bucket can hold a lot more liquid than a mug, that is why I chosen my recipe. Also, mugs ARE reusable

1) Coffee plants drop seeds instead of growing, I get two seeds when plant attempts to grow. Is there an altitude requirement? It was also common to find seeds, rather than plants (1.2.3). In 1.2.4, I have found taller plants, but whole plant drops when I attempt to harvest tops.2) Coffee recipe shows up ok in 'recipe book' but doesn't work. Upon crafting attempts, nothing comes up in the product box (1.2.3 & 1.2.4).
If there's a log I can send you to help, let me know. Growth problem and crafting glitch are easy to duplicate (consistant).

EDIT: My coffee plants were on corners of water, my bad, I'll retry (like cane),Sorry. this may also explain why I find seeds in wild, no water near. You should address this in Worldgen file.

The problem with coffee plant is that it requies water next to it. So if you find one generated and you break the top, the rest of the blocks update and they break. I may remove the water requirement in the future.
To the recipe problem - a lot of people had this problem, unfortunatelly I have no idea how to fix this, because it works fine on my computer

Growing next to water is OK and works great. I now have a small, highly prodictive automated coffee farm (PowerCraft). Now to dupe my wood/apple farm for cocoa trees.
Now if I could craft coffee... It may be a mod conflict, as I run many mods, and it works ok for you.
If I get boared, I may load CocoaCraft 1st on my next mod set. then test crafting as I add each mod, to see if I can isolate the problem/possible conflict.
Again GREAT Mod, Keep up the good work. You've inspired me to look deeper into creating mods myself. Someday I may be creating my own, if my perfectionist streak doesn't drive me nuts durring the learning process.
Also, let me know, if you need me to capture any log/txt files that would help.
