Is there anyway to tone down the amount of hostile mobs that spawn in from spawners? I really don't notice it to much in vanilla MC, but in Twilight Forest it makes trying to look around in the Hollow Hills even harder then they used to be.

Are you talking about the spawner blocks, like the cages with the monster spinning around inside it? Because those aren't affected by Custom Mob Spawner (or any spawning mod for that matter). If you wanted to change the spawner blocks, you'd have to edit their NBT data.

It just seems like the creatures that spawn from spawners, spawn in way to quickly then they did before I added the custom mob spawner to the rest of the mobs I am using (this one is the only one that does anything with spawns, even if it doesn't effect the spawner themselves).
What's the command to activate the GUI.. is there one? Right/Left/Middle clicks just do what they always do. /spawn or /spawner doesn't call anything. OP just says how to install it but not a word on actually using it! :/
Looks like it's only for modders..
I'd like to point out that if CMS is disabled and you use an alternative spawner mod, you will not experience these issues. Perhaps you may want to try this until things get straightened out.
Any ideas on how to do this and also can you use Forge_mobspawncontrols?

Go into your .minecraft/config/MoCreatures folder and open MoCGlobal.cfg, then look for the following:
B:useCustomSpawner=true
Change true to false and save the file.
If you want to use Mob Spawn Controls, you have a further step. Go to the .minecraft/config/MoCreatures/Creatures folder and open MoCreatures.cfg. Scroll down to the'entity-spawn-settings' section and change the first number for each entity to 1.
Some things you need to be aware of here though - the last version of CMS for 1.5.2 has 2 MAJOR bugs. It rewrites your configs unless you set them to "read only", and you can't disable the damn thing or it will crash or fail to load your game. Why they haven't fixed this is beyond me, but now they're on to 1.6.2 they probably never will fix it. If you want to run MoC in 1.5.2 with CMS disabled, you have to find an older version of it... or go to 1.6.2.

If we do this it seems to break the mo creatures mod as the creatures, mobs, etc do not spawn. Going back to using this broken spawner brings back the mobs.
I used the CMS with Mo'Creatures back in March (ish) and when I opened my options screen it was simple to find and adjust the spawn rate. I have CMS and Mo'Creatures installed now on 1.6.2 and I can't even find the menu I used to use, though everything is showing up on the mods screen correctly and custom mobs are spawning.
Is there still a way to get into that old, easy to use menu? Without adjusting spawn rates Mo'Creatures absolutely swamps my game with mobs...

I was gonna make a cool signature pic...But then I got bored and discovered Dragon Cave.
I have a pretty heavy mod pack. That has quite a few mob spawning mods, like mo creatures. lycanites mobs, thaumcraft biomes o plenty all that jazz. AND the slenderman mod. sometimes i feel like mobs do not spawn at all because of this mod, how can i make sure every mob gets spawned and in its appropriate biome? Do i HAVE to add each specific biome to the list of mobs and what not? Is there a quick way to multi edit the mobs? Please help me out, want to make sure i get the kick out of all them obs that I have in my mod pack.
Help with a crash, please? I'm having a dumb day and can't figure out if it's me or the mod and what to do to fix it. It's happening with both of my Forge installs - 1.6.2's 9.10.1.871 and with 1.6.4's 9.11.1.935. Thank you!

Will this mob bring back the old mob-spawning in Minecraft even if I do not install Mo Creatures? Or is it useless without another mod making calls to it?
This is a required file for Mo Creatures in order to generate specific mobs in specific Biomes and also enables the F6 menu so you can tweak all kinds of spawning rules and conditions. By default the vanilla mobs are disabled by Mo but the F6 menu allows you to re-enable them with Mo creatures still available.
Is there any chance this mod can be extended to allow for a customisable mob spawning block? I'd like to have Survival games where I can create dungeons for other players without the need to have an adventure mode map. Perhaps even a block that can be made to work with any mod that adds additional creatures by using IDs or names or something?
(edit) I've done some checking around and it seems there was a mod called Spawner GUI which allowed you to edit spawners. However it didn't use Forge and is no longer compatible either. Any chance such a feature can be added to this custom-mob-spawner mod?
Project Zulu has what's called a "Limited Mob Spawner" block, which allows you to put any mob you want in it, as well as other settings. It was built with adventure map makers in mind.

Does anyone know if CMS and vanilla generate spawns only once at world creation? I'm using MOC and if I get some spawns that are, for example, cows if I kill those cows they always respawn as cows no matter what. Is this how Custom Spawner is suppose to work and does the Vanilla spawner act the same way. Is there any downside to setting useCustomSpawner=false?
Does anyone have any suggested settings for getting a good mixture of vanilla and MOC creatures? It seems like such a delicate balancing act.

Any chance you could update the op to say "Beta 1.8" instead of just "Minecraft 1.8"? That caused a good 3 seconds of confusion for me.
