UPDATE...
I have updated this mod to version 1.4.2 and by my testing mojang has fixed this.
I am just updating it as per requests and if you play an older version than you can still use this fix
In previous versions wolves and ocelots spawn too many times and though they are not tamed they follow you everywhere, even in Lava lol. so I took them out of the game and the only way to get them is to buy them from the villagers in 1.2.3 and to Craft them in 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 (SEED) 32

Give a raw fish to the Priest (purple shirt) and you get a ocelot spawn egg (one use only)but you can buy more.
only use one fish at a time.
Give a Librarian a bone (white shirt) and get a wolf egg (one use only) but you can buy more. only use one bone at a time.

I searched this forum and found that other users were having the same issue. so i took the ocelots out of the jungles and the wolves out of the forests. And true some times you can start a new world and never see either one. But i dont have any mods installed that would cause it the top picture is from a vanilla 1.2.3 world.

if you want to keep the wolves and ocelots in the game then dont install sl.class, bl.class and age.class those are the biomes for the jungle,forest, and taiga.
I agree with that. Also the petshop is a great idea. But why wait for more downloads before doing it?
As with my other mods that i have made on this forum not many downloads were there to justify my time in making better and more mods i use adfly and im looking to make the 1million dolla i mainly enjoy the social interaction of the forum.
This is neat, and I like the concept, and it also adds use to protect villagers, but your game must be glitched, and for me, Ocelots are fairly rare, and I only see them every 30 minutes while walking in a Jungle. Wolves are slightly more common, however. Maybe if you add more features, I'll probably consider downloading it. Like, say, put up a seperate download that lessens the spawn of those animals, while you can still buy them from villagers?

Which class is for the ocelots? I have 100+ spawning on my small jungle biome island and want to get rid of them, but have no problems with the wolves as far as I know, so I don't want to use the wolves' block file just yet. Thanks in advance.

1) Removing certain mobs from spawning will definitely help people working on mob spawners and traps....
2) EXPAND your villages with 'custom' shops or buildings! Go for more than just a Pet Shop, add others as well.
I'm downloading for sure just to have on hand in case of a Feline Invasion.....

I want to get started on the shops but npc trading is not available in the tutorials. I need help with trading in quantity instead of one for one.
This works nicely. I now have a pretty tuxedo kitty for my very own. However, one odd thing happened. I had a stack of 3 fish when I clicked on the priest. Instead of taking one fish and giving me one ocelot egg, he took all three and gave me only one egg for them all. (the cheapskate) Fortunately, fish are easy to come by.

LOL, sorry but over the picture of the priest it says one at a time. my modding is very limited because im a gamer not a programmer. and in testing i had a stack of 64 fish and all i got was one egg. he's dead now ;(
I think just being able to buy them is reason enough for this mod.
You should make that more obvious in the title to make more people check out the forum.
Maybe rename it to "PET SHOP, Buy wolves and ocelots from villagers! (but eliminated their spawn rates)"
If you know how to make and read from a config file, then letting users set their spawn rates ( 0, 1x, 2x) would be awesome.
I think just being able to buy them is reason enough for this mod.
