any chance we could get a paradise type survivial skyland? and pams harvestcraft seems to have trouble spawning anything in anything other than sky dimension .
I've reduced my contribution from $10 to $5 per month. I really want to support this mod but not updating for 3 months is frustrating. I don't really care if every single update is an overhaul of the mod. I don't need that. Just give us some alpha release snapshots of what you're working on. That's all I ask.

Using your donation/support as a bargaining chip is just wrong. If you like what Ted does, support him. If you can afford $10, give $10. Don't hold back money because you think you deserve something.
I support Ted because I want him to continue making his mods....HIS mods, HIS way, HIS timeline. I'm just happy he shares it with the rest of us.

im sorry but i think YOU got this all wrong. Patreon is a platform for patrons to support creative work and get REWARDS for that. this is the main guideline of the platform.

No, he said that being a Patreon doesn't mean that you can get everything you want from the Creator.
So Biome IDs are not in conflict. This mod makes some pretty amazing world gen, but the no-sand deserts are a little frustrating. Any other ideas?
Yes, remove your other mods and find what's confilicting. Rwg_HotDesert, a desert biome added by this mod and pretty common one, has a tons of sands.
I think you are probably using alot of World Gen mods and that might be interfering with one and another somehow. Can't help you more then that, make sure no Biome ID are conflicting and try removing your other world gen mods one at a time.
Don't forget to create new world to do your testing.

Although that is sometimes the case. Patreon does allow creators to give 'rewards' for certainly levels of support. In Ted's case, there are no rewards offered. Therefore, attempting to withhold money to push Ted into do his bidding is not in the spirit of the word support. I am supporting Ted and his modding efforts, he doesn't work for me, I don't get to dictate what he does, and I don't get special benefits. I just offer a little money to let him know I like what he does and I hope he continues.
Granted, if mvincent17781 doesn't want to continue supporting Ted, for whatever reason, he is free to stop at any time. I just didn't particularly agree with the way he worded his comment as if he was dangling a carrot in front of a pig.

I actually see nothing wrong with what he said. He's not trying to bargain, he's saying "toss me a bone and show me that donating each month isn't in vain". There have been quite a few developers on patreon that have failed to come through on anything. Being shown that work is still being done isn't really that much to ask. Some people may like to support unconditionally, some may like to have an update now and then.

Well, if you all followed his Twitter page you would see that he's still pretty active with the mod development and mostly waiting to release all the new biomes as in one big update.
THE REASON WHY IS HERE ---> This is a world gen mod, this mean every update you would have to create a new world. Hence why he doesn't release snapshots or small updates, they would be annoying, imho that's what I think.
Go follow his Twitter and you might even be able to discuss directly with him from there... I don't know if you are a Patron maybe he can make a snapshot just for you but don't go flood him..

Releasing regular updates isn't always a good thing. Putting pressure on a modder to create and publish regular updates certainly isn't.
Here is a couple of reasons why:
- Modders, when under pressure, may lose interest in their project due to it feeling more like work than a hobby. Patreon in this case is supporting ted80 and what he has already released, not buying updates/future releases (unless I've missed it somewhere), though encouraging him to do so.
- Regular releases means regular new games. A lot of us, such as myself, would prefer staggered but larger releases. Regular and frequent can be nice, but for something like this it isn't due to no save-game compatibility.
And as Murlockingqc said, he does semi-regular updates on his twitter showing progress. He doesn't seem to post too much on this thread, but twitter is a different story. If you crave updates, that is the place to go - he even tweeted, asking for biome suggestions.
Ted80 mods because he mods not so he can collect your $10 a month. If you like the mod and can donate, great! If not also great.
The real questionable move here though was posting it to the forum. If you really felt the need to let TED know about this, private message him but to do it here is just showboating and that not in a good way.

... I'm happy to donate to Ted just to keep him modding, I'd rather have quality, stable builds 2-3 times a year and donate $120 for that, than a bunch of hackneyed half-finished ones.

I can see how what I did/said could be in the wrong. However I am still one of the only people donating anything to support his mods. 5 supporters last time I checked. I do follow his twitter and check his progress every day. I also understand that I'm not entitled to anything. He'll do what he wants.
I guess I'm just frustrated because I feel like regular snapshot updates would help him anyway as we would then be able test out what he has so far and report any bugs for him ahead of time. And I also want to make it clear that I'm not pushing him to work any faster than he is. I don't care if it takes him 6 months to make a big update. It would just be nice to get a little update every now and then. Otherwise I can't really justify donating as much as I was. That's all.
He does this on a semi-regular basis via his twitter account.

Nah.. he is workin. Tweeted today about the ocean update and expectations of beginning 1.8 update after.
