You know what I want to see? I want to see something like this for the Nether, like add new mobs to the Nether, stuff like maybe the dead souls of Overworld mobs? The differences being they have some extra abilities like Creeper souls can explode multiple times, the zombie souls are actually not zombies, but rather the poor souls who were forced to inhabit those undead bodies, same for the skeletons,, among other things, i'll let you all think about ideas

I'm not planning any more mods or expansions outside the Ender realm.

I'm just going to shamelessly put up an article I wrote a while back on Nether-based mods, it covers about five plugins that should make the area more interesting. If its just creatures your looking for, I highly suggest Lycanites Mobs and Natura, as that combination will get you about 15 new Nether beasts. Also, off the top of my head I can say that Witchery, Thaumcraft, and Biomes O Plently also add in a beast or two each, and I know there's plenty of others that lightly touch on the Nether as well. While I don't think there's any specific mods that focus on upgrading the underworld to the same extent that HEE does to the End, with a little work you can upgrade the Nether into a much more exciting hell.
Now for my own question about this mod: Maybe I'm being an idiot, but does anyone have a good suggestion for moving between floating islands? Building bridges may be amusing in way, and there are plenty of jetpacks and airships to use in other mods, but is there anything in this mod that helps move between islands right from the start?

For those who don't mind a bit of reading, I've been writing mod examinations on Hubpages under the name Cliffwalker. So far I've done full articles for several mods, including the likes of Witchery,Enviromine, andLycanite's Mobs, and I have also written a few multi-mod articles to help those who wish to find upgrades for a specific aspect of their game, such as the Nether.

Ender Pearls, obviously, which you can enhance. Then progress towards Spatial Dash Gem and Transport Beacons.

I did say I was probably being an idiot, can't believe I didn't think of that.

I've made a couple of Dragon Essence Altars (made the second for troubleshooting purposes), and I can't seem to use the upgrade sockets. I right click on one of the white pixels on top with any of the valid blocks (emerald, redstone, lapis, quartz) and absolutely nothing happens. I've watched a video of someone successfully upgrading, and I see the little button-ish texture pop up, so I know what is supposed to happen, but it does not.
The graphic for the dragon essence count is there, the altar shows the particles going to the pedestals, and I've actually repaired a pick with it, so it's definitely operational. BUT for some reason waila shows it as the basic essence altar, not the dragon one.
Screenshot attached.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Sorry - playing on ATLauncher/Resonant Rise most current stable pack

Sockets were removed half a year ago and replaced by the enhancement system. Waila issue is probably due to a compatibility system for converting a couple years old altars, it should be removed in one of the newer versions.
I did see the enhancement screen come up when I right-clicked on it with end powder, and the three options for enhancement. But it doesn't appear to execute the enhancement no matter how many end powder I put in any or all of the four slots and clicked again to enhance. Do I just need to do more research to see what goes there? Did I miss something in the compendium?
Again, thank you!
EDIT: Never mind, I was missing something in the compendium... enhancement complete!
Released 1.8.4 update, just another bugfix/tweak one while I'm working on HEE 2. Changed how NEI integration works, fixed Compendium not returning to previous screen, and a couple others - http://hee.chylex.com/download

I just updated and still got this:
java.lang.RuntimeException: A defective recipe has crashed the game! Another mod is creating recipes with non-existent blocks or items, which is a serious error that will cause item or even world loss when crafting these recipes. Corrupted recipes have been saved in the log with tag [HEE-ORB], please try to find which mod they belong to and report them to the respective modder. Then enable the 'overrideRemoveBrokenRecipes' option in Hardcore Ender Expansion and the game will start.

Post the entire crash report, not just the little bit you think is the important part.

So I got a rather strange crash.. it seems to only happen when I try to update to the latest version of Forestry (4.0.5.33 for minecraft 1.7.10) so I'm going to post this error there as well, but... from the looks of the error, it's probably something I should bring to your attention too (in case this is useful for any off your future builds).. in the crashlog, it mentions
" java.lang.RuntimeException: A defective recipe has crashed the game! Another mod is creating recipes with non-existent blocks or items, which is a serious error that will cause item or even world loss when crafting these recipes. Corrupted recipes have been saved in the log with tag [HEE-ORB], please try to find which mod they belong to and report them to the respective modder. noticeable fact was it crashed before it had even reached the mojang splash page upon first run but after going to the config and changing the "remove broken recipes" thingy it went ahead and ran normally so ill chalk it up to known bug.
also everytime i look at an enderman or "purchase" the knowledge fragment about enderman minecraft exits the world and says "a fatal error has occured" but no error log is generated =/ no idea why thats happening. EDIT: found the error log. i was looking for the word "Fatal" to find it easily: here it is below in a spoiler. hopefully firefox doesnt crash upon me trying to put it in:

okay not the entire log. that crashed firefox. heres what i think (and hope) is whats most important. too bad open eye didnt catch it =( i may try and copy-paste it to a doc on google documents if you need the rest of the log.
Can't replicate the issue :/ do you maybe have another mod that replaces Endermen?
I know that you don't particularly like mods interfering with your dimension changes but I'm currently trying to change the base shape of the vanilla end while still inheriting biomes/structures from mods installed with mine, Epic Siege Mod. The problem is that HEE's verification checks are locking me out completely despite the rest of my code respecting the your generation features. Would it be possible to remove these checks or display a warning that bugs caused by said modifications won't be fixed?
PS: I have been able to achieve a similar shape change for Biomes O Plenty's Nether so I see no reason why it wouldn't work for this
only mods that touch endermen in any way is Epic Siege Mod and Legacy Craft. epic siege mod: makes mobs more "aggressive" and makes enderman give random effects to the player and/or teleports the player. the random effects include blindness and nausea. legacy craft changes enderman so that they dont randomly teleport during the day and allows them to pick up stone planks and cobble in addition to the blocks they normally pick up. im using the latest version of HEE. other than slight ai changes i dont think theres anything that should make them incompatible to HEE.
still current mods are: extended workbench, bedrock layer (by Kegare), Cave World (also by kegare), cave control, chromaticraft, codechickencore, colored lights core, colorfulportals mod, coroutil, Damage indicators, dragon api, epic siege mod, extra utils, fire emblem craft, HEE, infinite invo, inventory tweaks, iron chest, journey map, legacy craft, lunatrius core, meteor craft, NEI, Open Blocks, Open Eye, openmodslib, optifine, pam's clayspawn/get all the seeds/ simple recipes/mod drop crops, random things, redstone paste mod, roadblocks, RWBY weapons mod, Schematica, Sound Filters, Weather 2, Touhou Items mod/alice dolls mod. in case you know if any of these are incompatible w/ HEE.

I didn't say you had to do it, I was just voicing my idea
So far I've done full articles for several mods, including the likes of Witchery, Enviromine, and Lycanite's Mobs, and I have also written a few multi-mod articles to help those who wish to find upgrades for a specific aspect of their game, such as the Nether.
In addition, fans of the old Myth games may want to check out my map of Myth's world.
Ender Pearls, obviously, which you can enhance. Then progress towards Spatial Dash Gem and Transport Beacons.

I did say I was probably being an idiot, can't believe I didn't think of that.

Help!

Good to know, thank you, sir!
I got an error from a corrupted recipe, which crashed the game.

Another mod is creating recipes with non-existent blocks or items, which is a serious error that will cause item or even world loss when crafting these recipes. here's the full crashlog: http://openeye.openmods.info/crashes/c4b4fc3ae4f802084c8abb9e820e179a
got exactly the same error as NikkeiZX no Forestry in mods list.
Open Eye URL here: http://openeye.openmods.info/crashes/9a7d5438f607019fad08ad7c84020338
noticeable fact was it crashed before it had even reached the mojang splash page upon first run but after going to the config and changing the "remove broken recipes" thingy it went ahead and ran normally so ill chalk it up to known bug.
also everytime i look at an enderman or "purchase" the knowledge fragment about enderman minecraft exits the world and says "a fatal error has occured" but no error log is generated =/ no idea why thats happening. EDIT: found the error log. i was looking for the word "Fatal" to find it easily: here it is below in a spoiler. hopefully firefox doesnt crash upon me trying to put it in:
