Hello! I've decided to take another shot at modding, and with Quaffle97's permission, updated his Scaffolding Mod to Minecraft 1.1.0
Proof of permission:
Scaffolding Revived
Do away with DIRT SCAFFOLDING! Get this instead!
This mod adds 2 new block types (ID 180 and 181) and a wrench (ID 2005). The normal Wooden Scaffold is easily breakable, like torches. Using a wrench on the scaffold breaks all adjacent scaffolding as well as the one you clicked on, in an interesting wave fashion. Makes for some pretty cool effects. Craft the Scaffold like this:
The Wrench is crafted like this. Help me think of a better crafting recipe if needed, I know a lot of mods use this design.
A more permanent form of the Scaffold is the Iron one. Use it to make realistic-looking trestle bridges, as it cannot be destroyed by right-clicking with a wrench. Breaking it by hand takes about the same time as dirt, but it breaks like the normal Scaffold when using a wrench to destroy it. It is crafted like this:
And here's a screenshot of it in action:
Note that the blocks take on the full block texture if there is nothing above them.
After installing the newest version of ModLoader, drag the included archive after extraction into the "Mods" folder created by Modloader.
Detailed instructions are in the included readme.
Note, the ids are 181, 182 and 2005.
Plans for later:
-Make scaffolding climbable.
-Make torches, ladders, etc. placeable on them.
-Add another version of the scaffold that can transport redstone current. (Floating redstone anyone?)
-Changeable blockIDs.
-I'm open to suggestions!
Version History:
V1.0 Compatible with Minecraft 1.1.0

The reason for this mod to be revived well was...I myself didn't like to modify world generation. That's why I don't use IC2 or Redpower Machine/World. I'm simply afraid that there are too many mod blocks generated, and can result in world corruption if one day the mods stopped updating or something like that.

Yeah, just pointing it out to the IndustrialCraft users that drop by here, and don't realize they already have Scaffolding :smile.gif:
Will there be another release of this mod for version 1.2.5 of minecraft because it is really useful in the building process? or is there any alternative mod i can use which has scaffold?
Lack of demand and time constraints are the culprit. I have MCP on my desktop, just need to set it up over the weekend.
wow, how did this pass under my radar for so long? Was looking for leveling foundation that looked more plausible than pieces of stick (fence). Best wishes if this gets an update.

No problem.
Me sad. Is it that bad?
Thanks for the encouragement. Will release a 1.2.3 version soon.
