Well ignore the nausea potion name, I picked it for the trippy effect.
I know its not very life-like and if you read back a few pages you will see that im working on a new effect.
Your right about the grinding.
But grinding is usually done by the hands anyway?
A machine would overdo it a bit.
I dont get you with that suggestion though?
As for the joints, its supposed to heal you the most, thus why it takes 3 toke and is not stackable.
Wouldnt want it overpowered?
But i guess 4 would be a good stack size.
I'm not worried so much about it being realistic, as adding useful mechanics in the game. just nitpicking/theory crafting, doesn't diminish the overall concept. joints made more sense to me as lowest tier healing, since they're easiest to craft, and less efficient. I imagined something more like a stackable 1 herb + 1 paper joint that doesn't heal at all, only boosting regen (like the potion) with a hunger/slowness side effect, then the more advanced devices giving instant health according to their materials.
mushroom soup was a bad example for the pipe/bong idea, what I meant was more like a tiered recipe to combine the pipe pieces with the bong pieces, instead of having a seperate bowl just for the bong (and adding glass to the pipe pieces as another tier as well). think of it as a logical extension to the pipe only, so that the cylinder + sphere crafts as one piece, and just adds 1 more use to the pipe, sharing the material effects. then instead of 'changing the bong water' every time you use it, it breaks into pipe stem + bong (like clearing the chamber after last use). so that
bowl + stem = pipe stem
- then both pipe and bong share the same stem item to fill it
pipe stem + mouthpiece + herb = full pipe
- then breaking up into pipe stem and mouthpiece after every use, to be recrafted with shapeless recipe in 2x grid for 2 uses max
cylinder + sphere + water bucket = bong
pipe stem + bong + herb = full bong
- then breaking up into pipe stem and bong after every use, to be recrafted with shaped recipe needing 3x grid for 3 uses max
then the bongs could also share the wood/stone/iron/gold/glass properties with a +1 heart bonus and extra capacity, or something to that effect, with all the parts being interchangable and reusable. while it would logically add more items, I think this would simplify it for the user, and any further dev. what I imagine is like adding bonus effects to each tier based on material, just like potions in addition to the healing, that can only be triggered from pipe/bong pieces. say wood stem gives you a regen boost for the duration, stone stem increases armor, iron increases attack strength, gold for speed, etc. then maybe the kief could act as a 'catalyst' to activate these bonuses, to be used much more sparingly since we only get so much from grinding.
I guess what I'm really wanting here is better crafting for potion effects, as an option to the whole mob grinding + brewing stand mechanic. not really a fan of that, some interesting mods as an alternative would be welcome.

Wow, i think i get some of it.
I dont fully understand it all. :/
Hey calebmanley, could you make a diamond grinder or something to make the grinding process a bit faster? I made a farm and sell it to the villagers and like selling it in quantity!
Wait a sec, so if you guys can`t update this to forge yet because it doesn`t have villager trading hooks yet, why not just make it with forge, keep the hemp naturally generated then add the villager trading back when the villager trading hooks are added to forge?

If i can think of a good way, i might add a way to mass grind it, or some automatic system or something.

Woot! Will you also be using a sprite sheet instead of sprite overrides? The only reason that I am not using this mod at the moment is because it uses around 40 overrides and the current max that can be loaded is around 80 so it causes a lot of errors while trying to run my other mods. This is an excellent mod by the way and it makes me sad not to run it.
As a side note, I've had to drop several other mods because of sprite overrides too. But this one I really miss.

Dude this mod is awesome, I am not a mod guy because most of them don't really keep with the simplicity of the game, but you've really done it with this one, congratz on it.
If i could trouble you while I'm here, I have two questions.
-How tall will the toke grow? 4 blocks?
-Is there anyway we could get a list of ID's for all the pipes and everything?
Yes I do cheat sometimes, lol.

5 out of 5 from me as well.
Cheers man!
It grows 3 blocks, just like sugarcane.
And if you go into the config folder in .minecraft, and open up mod_Herblore you will find all the default IDs.

Possibly.
What am I missing with the grinding table? I can't seem to craft it.Nevermind, I see it now.
If i can think of a good way, i might add a way to mass grind it, or some automatic system or something.

oh sorry, haven't written the post upper
Five Diamond Rating =3
