Hi, after you installed Forge, just open up the original folder. The one with the CrazyOres folder inside and the five class files. Simply copy everything and put all of it into the jar. Don't leave any out and don't put any in the mods folder. Just drag everything into the jar. Hope this helps.
Well.... I have no idea. It's been messing up my Minecraft so much... I'm just too scared I'll mess something up, I didnt even try. I want to show you what I see, but I don't know how to take screenshots and show you on the forum. Can you help? i have an HP.
I've also heard MCPatcher was needed for this mod. Is this true?
I have followed your mod and all updates since 2.1, and loved it.
I can remeber when I first got it in 1.2.3, when x-ray was compatible with crazyores, and I could easily find tonnes of your ore, and within a few days have a 64 stack of everything
Now it's impossible for me to find starconium. After mining for an hour at bedrock layer, consuming 1 crystal pickaxe, and found nothing.
I have not found any sarconium visible in caves.
Do you think that the spawn rate could increase? I have plenty of everythg other than crystals and starcoium, even though they are supposed to be rare.
Hi! They shouldn't be that rare. It could be your world, but I'll do a little searching in my worlds and then I'll see weather or not to turn up the generation. Thanks for the feed back Keep looking! They should be there somewhere.
They spawn from level 10 and down, if this helps any.

That was only for Mac users with an earlier version of CrazyOres. The newest one does not need it anymore. I have a Mac, so I'm not sure if this will help, but here is a website that tells you how to take screen shots:
If you have any specific installation questions feel free to ask.
Pictures would be nice too, once you figure out how, to help me get a better understanding on what you are doing wrong. Thanks!

Well, I think I have the screenshots taken, but I don' know how to get them on to the forum. I copied them, hit the Paste button, hit Ctrl=V, and nothing happened. The square was blank. Is there a certain type of file I need?like, a png or a jpeg?

Well, I also don't think the pictures will work. So, I'll just see if I can copy text. It may be a lot, but it shows what I see...
So, I open up the .zip, and I see this.
CrazyOres folder
ami.class
lh.class
oz.class
ul.class
ut.class
Now, those five classes I didn't download. i left them out. I only downloaded the inside of the folder. Inside the folder i see...
client folder
I see very many files, many beginning in Block, Container, Entity, item, Model, Render, and Title Entity. i also see a few files for each ore. I'll use Zectium as an example.
Zectium_1.png
Zectium_2.png
then there's zectium golem.png, zectium arrow.png, zectium dispenser.png, zectium reactor.png, and zectium reactor.class
i also see a few gui classes, and an ore generator.class, and a probablilty.class
Now inside the client folder is...
ClientProxy.class
Gui.class's for all the dispensers
Render.class's for a few arrows and golems
So...that's what i see. Hope this helps... It's not a picture, but it's basically what I see. Thanks for all your patience, time, and help, andy! I really appreciate it!
Thank you, but i would like a detail explanation, list of ore strengths and do all the weapons do the same damage?
they have diffrent strenghts of course... starconium is like... ownage! you can even kill the enderdrgon with 2 fully charged arrows and hit it in the head! while copper is like.... JUNK! they are all diffrent! EXPERIMENT!

GENERATION 9001: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment
Well, The last time I properly played mine craft with your mod was when the 3 strongest ores generated in the same place, so I always excavate to bedrock layer when I find crystal or zectium. I once found starconium in creative though! Whenever I get to bedrock layer, I almost drown in lava. You said you would make meteor armor fire resistant, which would help massively.
May I make a few suggestions:
A new (overworld) mob that could be a ghost (undead, like skeletons and zombies) that spawns in light level 7 like all other hostile mobs, and has rare drops of copper items (like zombies drop iron)
A new ore, called "glowium":
This would be different from glowstone. It cannot make tools, but it can make armor (as strong as ruby). It's armor glows, meaning the player would not need torches. When mined, it drops 2-3 glowium blobs. A glowium torch is brighter that normal torches by 2 light levels , as glowium blocks are 2 brighter than glowstone.
I was looking for a mod called the "miner's paradise", which is a flat stone dimension, accessable with a coal ore portal filled with ore, but it's discontinued. Maybe a portal made of glowium blocks could acces a crazyores version of this? Maybe it could have all ores, or only the rare (gold, diamond, and the 3 strongest.)
You have some very good ideas! I'm not going to add this in V7.0, but I might make my own touches to your idea and add them in later.

Hi! No problem, I will always help anyone that has problems installing / using CrazyOres! Here are some detailed instructions:
First lets try to just install CrazyOres alone in a fresh .Jar
Step 1: Get a brand new minecraft.jar
Step 2: Re - download CrazyOres from the forum post
Step 3: Download a new Minecraft Forge Universal
Step 4: Install Forge Universal normally
Step 5: Inside the CrazyOres folder, there should be 5 class files like you listed above, and a folder named "CrazyOres".
Step 6: Do not open the CrazyOres folder or anything, just copy ::EVERYTHING:: including the 5 class files.
Step 7: Paste the 5 class files and the CrazyOres folder into the minecraft.jar
Step 8: Run Minecraft and enjoy!
Hopefully this helped you. Follow these directions ::EXACTLY:: as instructed, those class files are there for a reason do not leave them out. Good luck
whats next? furnaces made of the minerals that smelt faster? hah
Lol in V7.0 there is going to be Mixable ores, TNT, and a bunch of other cool stuff, including a new special furnace. It takes time making all the combinations of ores, thats why its taking so long for the update.
Thank you, but i would like a detail explanation, list of ore strengths and do all the weapons do the same damage?
Here is everything regarding all of the Ores. Hope this helps.
Mining level number means it can mine anything one number higher and anything below that number. For example, Mining Level 2 can mine Level 3 and anything below that.
Well, I'm sorry to say that it gave my Minecraft a black screen. This might be because I had to update to get a new .jar, but I did exactly what you said. I'll wait for the update to cm, and hopefully it'll be better out from there.

I used to be awesome like you, but then I took an arrow to the face.

A zectium detector, made like a compass, but uses zectium BLOCKS (so it isn't that easy to get); when near any block of zectium, the detector points directly to the location (like compasses point to the spawn) on the x and z axis (the y axis would have to be found out by the players)
Same for crystal and starconium
Just like regular compasses, they are useless in the nether
The recipe could use ingots/gems instead
It seems like a good idea, but I feel like it would ruin the point of finding ores, because once you get enough resources to make it, you pretty much have infinite ores since it tells you where they are. Not sure about that, but I'll think it over more.

What version of Minecraft are you running it on? CrazyOres works on Version 1.4.5 of Minecraft, but 1.4.6 recently just came out. This could be your reason.
Well, I had to update to get a new .jar. Before that, it was 1.4.5. It doesn't matter. I'm waiting for 1.4.6 now for a lot of mods, so I'll just do that.

Or maybe make a new ore, new recipe that would make this, and It would come with a GUI that shows "moving dots" so the player wouldn't know exactly, but know where about it is, or maybe make it show what chuck has a lot, such as darker colours mean more ore (chunks are 16x16, so the player wouldn't find it so easily)
And I've noticed yet another thing. I have known about it for ages, but not known how to describe it.
If you have a full suit of armor made from any of the strong ores, the armor points are so high, that the armor bar doesn't show them.
For example, starconium boots and helmet are 6 armor points each (3 "shirts"), and the chestplate is 14 (I think anyway), so when starconium boots, helmet and chestplate is worn, the armor points total to 26 (when the regular armor bar is 20). When the player is spawned, he has no armor points, therefore no armor bar. Maybe you could make a second armor bar (of 20 points/ 10 "shirts") to display the excess points when the first one is "overflowing", so full starconium armor can be used to its full potential.
I like your Armor Idea About your Compass idea, I think it has a lot of potential, and I'll have to think about that more. But I do like it so I'll think of something similar to that.
I have a new idea, for a strongest, near indestructible rare ore in the nether, called Nokium (see what I did there?) It spawns throughout the nether, as rare as demonite, and each tool has 5,000 uses, armor has 3x that (including points) of diamond, and the blocks have blast proofing of 18,000 (1/1000 of bedrock, 3x obsidian)
Also I get little XP for smelting the strongest ores, so maybe more XP if it's rarer?
Plus I have a new idea for a recipe for meteorite coal. I think 1 lava bucket and 1 obsidian for a gem that's tools have less than 1,000 uses is too risky (and the pickaxes aren't as good, maybe they should be able to mine nether ores, due to the fire-nether link). Maybe 1 lava bucket surrounded by 8 hyper coal gives 8 meteorite coal, and surrounding 1 obsidian with 8 meteorite coal gives 8 meteorite gems.
Great... now time to make starconium better than that ore...

I like your ideas! The new nether ore, will most likely be yellow. I'm going to give it a different name and a unique background. For instance, you cannot make tools or armor out of it, but you can use it to "bonemeal" nether wart since regular bonemeal can't already. I'll add this in V8.0.
I will be sure to add an option for the player to either use the old recipe if they only have one hyper coal on them, or the new one if they have a lot. I'll add this in V7.0. Thanks for all of your ideas! Keep them coming.
Plus when I add them, I'll give you credit on the post for your ideas.
~Andy
Yeah, I forgot to include some things, including the old recipe (the page accidentally refreshed after I pressed f5 accidentally when I pressed 5)
Will there be any tool/armor ore in the nether, or are that type of ore only for the over-world?
Cool Idea about nether meal, though when I find warts, I leave them to grow, and I usually have enough left for a few days.
Maybe you could make it a dye as well, like bonemeal dyes things white.
But, there still will be strong blocks?
When you give me credit, my real username in mine craft is AntonyBoys.
In the future there will probably be a Nether Ore with Tools, but as of now, I have a lot of Ideas for V7.0 and V8.0, so it will most likely be added in V9.0.
As for the New Nether Ore without tools, it will be very strong because it needs to with stand Ghast explosions in order to survive in the Nether. (This is my reasoning behind it.)
I'll think about how the dye would work, and I'll be sure to give you Credit on the post.
Oh, and by the way, here's what I see when I get into your mod. There's five random classes at the bottom, and a giant folder that says CrazyOres. Now, I put the client folder and the other classes inside the jar, and left the other five random classes out. I'm not sure if that is what's wrong...
And, also, the placements of the mods are different. My timber mod and simple guns mod are in the 'mods' folder that comes with Forge, while TMI and More Explosives have all of their files extracted into the jar.

Hi, after you installed Forge, just open up the original folder. The one with the CrazyOres folder inside and the five class files. Simply copy everything and put all of it into the jar. Don't leave any out and don't put any in the mods folder. Just drag everything into the jar. Hope this helps.
I've also heard MCPatcher was needed for this mod. Is this true?

Thanks!

Good luck
~Andy
Lol in V7.0 there is going to be Mixable ores, TNT, and a bunch of other cool stuff, including a new special furnace. It takes time making all the combinations of ores, thats why its taking so long for the update.
~Andy
Here is everything regarding all of the Ores. Hope this helps.
Mining level number means it can mine anything one number higher and anything below that number. For example, Mining Level 2 can mine Level 3 and anything below that.

Hmmm, you didn't get any XP? Must be a glitch, I'll make sure to fix that. lol

I like your Armor Idea About your Compass idea, I think it has a lot of potential, and I'll have to think about that more. But I do like it so I'll think of something similar to that.

~Andy
In the future there will probably be a Nether Ore with Tools, but as of now, I have a lot of Ideas for V7.0 and V8.0, so it will most likely be added in V9.0.
As for the New Nether Ore without tools, it will be very strong because it needs to with stand Ghast explosions in order to survive in the Nether. (This is my reasoning behind it.)
I'll think about how the dye would work, and I'll be sure to give you Credit on the post.
Thanks!
~Andy
