(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
I was disappointed to find out the Treecapitator, Crystal Wing, Starting Inventory didn't work in SMP for me. I haven't tried the 1.4.6 version yet.
For Treecapitator: I was trying to chop down a vanilla oak tree. All that happened was a considerable lag time for the first block to drop (maybe 20 seconds), and I waited patiently for the tree to break (I gave it 2 minutes) but it never did. This was on my personal dedicated server with several large mods installed (Forestry, IC2, BC2 to name a few).
My server wouldn't even start with either of the other 2 installed. Even when I took every other mod out & deleted all the config files, it just gave an error when starting up. I don't suppose these don't work at ALL when forge is installed? If so, I'd recommend releasing a forge-compatible version for these.
It's rather impossible to provide any sort of assistance without the contents of ForgeModLoader-client-0.log. Use pastebin.com or similar and paste the link here.
I'm sorry about disappearing after that. I got involved with some other things and when I came back I ended up figuring out my issue on my own. Turns out I had turned on the global config option in forge.cfg and that was causing treecapitator to read from the global.cfg instead of from where it normally would.

TreeCapitator for Forge is a universal mod, so your server should run it fine. For best results also run it on your client. The other two mods you mentioned are ModLoader SSP mods, so they won't work in SMP.
Apparently, Treecapitator Forge 1.4.5.r05 is badly broken. I cannot interact with Minecraft if I install it. I can't open chests, can't pull items out of NEI in cheat mode. I can't even punch trees or dirt, as the blocks are destroyed. Version 1.4.5.r04 works perfectly, so I've rolled back for now. Hopefully the 1.4.6 version doesn't have the same bug.
Can you provide a pastebin.com link for your TreeCapitator config from 1.4.5.r05?
But my custom axes and such! D: Either way, thanks for the tip!
You can just copy the values forward to the new config... that's what the code is trying to do when it failed in your log. I tried to detect the old config entries and port them forward, but I guess my code needs work.
I tried to turn off checking for updates in the config for Crystal Wing, then minecraft would crash on load.
Putting it back on it will load fine again. I do have a few other MODs installed. Mostly the big major 3: Build/Industrial Craft & RedPower
I can change the setting again and get a crash report generated again if that data helps you.
I take it the config only reads trees and leaves from other mods, not axes?
Would be nice if Forge had a tool dictionary.
For those using FTB (I'm not but I try to use the same ids from their configs for the same mods)
# IDs of items that can chop down trees. Use ',' to split item id from metadata and ';' to split items. [default: 271; 275; 258; 286; 279]
S:axeIDList=271; 275; 258; 286; 279 ; 5280 ; 5281 ; 5282 ; 7796 ; 25279 ; 27982 ; 28006 ; 28008 ; 30199 ; 30233 ; 30479
These are the axes from Redpower, Thaumcraft, IC2 (bronze axe, chainsaw, adv chainsaw), Railcraft, Twilight Forest.
I dont use Factorization or Xycraft so I dont know if those add axes or not.
I have a bunch of mods installed, and everything works perfectly no ID errors, ect. But upon adding Treecapacitor to my game and playing my save file, the trees do not fall down at all when I chop out the lowest log in the tree at all. That is the one and only issue I found, has anyone else had/fixed this?
Yea i think its a bug in this version that everyone is having. we just have to wait untill he updates it to fix the bug. in the mean time if you really want to have a mod like that just use the timber mod untill he can update treecapitator.
Without the contents of ForgeModLoader-client-0.log there is literally nothing I can do to help you. Use pastebin.com or similar and post the link.
You, Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar for putting up with jackasses like us on a daily basis. You're even trying to help people on Christmas. Many thanks for what you do.
I downloaded this mod yesterday and it worked fine but now i'm getting wood and leaves instead of wood, saplings and apples
Do you have shears in your hot bar? that gives you leaf blocks instead of breaking them and making apples and saplings. It's in the feature list and quite handy.

As in, 2.0 * number of log blocks for hardness
(You are, after all, chopping all the pieces into nice little m^3 chunks...)
Ohh, another 1.4.5 update? Yum, testing right after tomorrow :-)

Do or do not. There is no try.
Seems like it, its not working for me either.

it's still only giving me the one block I broke. Even with a diamond axe!

You have exceeded the maximum file size of 500 kilobytes per paste. PRO users don't have this limit!
WELL. That's nice.
