the reason is because those pressure plates are only activated by the player, not mobs. also yay lbp!
Is it possible to make these dungeons generate before ravines, so that instead of them going across ravines, the ravines cut through them?
Also, is it possible to make sure that the main part of the dungeon doesn't generate anywhere aboveground? Sometimes I've found halves of dungeons popping out of the side of a hill and it doesn't look all that pretty.

I kinda like how they generate at the moment... ^-^ I think it is awesome when I am walking though the Mountains and *BAM* A small part of a dungeon in mid-air! One time I even spawned in a Dungeon when I started a new Biospheres world (though the Zombies didn't like it...)
Very impressed. At first i was like: Oh just another mod that adds some ridiculous dungeons that are just annoying and adds more varieties of dungeons that are dumb than one big good dungeon

i probably could get it to generate before ravines, but not sure how. also i think that it would happen too often. i do agree that they should not be sticking out of hills and such. i thought i already did that though. are you using any terrain mods?

Well, I know that Mountain Biome tend to do that, and the mountain-like biomes added y ExtraBiomes do it also...

what it should do is make sure its below level 57 (have to double check that). but, it does pick the height that the dungeon spawns at by subtracting from the height the corner is in. so i could be bugged, ill look into it.

That is probably why, seeing the max height for some areas is 125... In boimes added by ExtraBiomesXL, it can sometimes even go up to 200.
On some rare cases, I would see Dungeons near the surface in Jungles and other Biomes with large Trees ot structures, where the top of the stairs are up at the very top... Though it does help when cutting down trees.
an update should be coming out soon. some of the big new changes are the 'removal' of small dungeons, and a config file! thanks to lunatrius for help with getting the config file working. i just need to add sport for damage values, then it should be done!

in you .minecraft folder you should see a mod_genTest.txt file (its called genTest because that's what this mod started out as, a generation test)
you can change some options in there, most of them are self explanatory, except for "OadditionalItems" this is how you have extra items that can be found in chests. you input items separated by "_"s and parameters separated by "-"s the parameters (in order) are:
item ID: the id of the item
rarity: how often it will show up
value: how mutch it is worth
max stack: the maximum stack of the item.
min stack: the minimum stack of the item.
min danger: how dangerous the dungeon has to be for it to show up
enchantment prob: how likely the item is to get enchanted.
max enchant: how powerful the enchantment can be.
damage value: the damage value for the item.
example:
264-6-1-20-15-300_314-1-1-80-25-350-17-6
would add a diamond, and a golden helmet with the settings they have currently in the mod.

but they drop the regular pressure plate. so you cant get it without TMI or a similar mod.

Yeah I cant get the two of them to play nice for our server.
i have gotten quite a few requests for it. but with 1.3 and hopefully the modding api right around the corner, not sure how useful it will be.
