What if you take a 1.7.3 world and explore a lot on it, then convert to Anvil to preserve the biomes. (That would work, right)
Nope, that wont work as this mod is for 1.1 ONLY

Hi, I really like this mod, I hate the way the terrain is generated now.
But just one thing, I only want the 1.7.3 terrain, not alpha or indev/infdev.
Not totally replace the new generator, I want the option to generate a 1.7.3 world, like in this mod, but without changing any texture or anything like that, just the terrain generation(No Mineshafts/Villages/Strongholds).
Can someone make a mod like that?
I'm not a modder, that's why I'm making this request.
I'll do anything. :L
That's... not very easy. All the ported worlds use their own land generators which would all have to be edited, and they're quite convoluted because of obfuscation, optimization, etc.
On the other hand, because of the nature of this mod, if I were to implement something like that myself I'd only have to do it once per generator. I can't promise anything right now though.

The 1.7.3 generator doesn't change any textures. When creating a new world you'll get the option to turn off certain, or all, structures. You can also enable or disable ravines.

Mkai thanks
Just one more thing, Can I play normally in my other worlds without having to worry about world corruption?
I mean, I love this mod and I just don't want to uninstall it.
Sorry if I'm annoying. XD

The mod is only active when you play in world types added by the mod, so default and superflat worlds will be unaffected.
Also I'll update that one quote on your banner to say "A mod that adds an option to generate Beta, Alpha, and Indev worlds on the current version of Minecraft"

alright, I've read all the previous posts , just something I like to do to know a bit more about a modder works, and how his forum works, and I just want to say, I love your attitude towards your users, Not to mention all the effort you put into this mod.
I wonder, would it be technically possible to make a cross version generator? Like have 1.8.1 biomes, alpha biomes, 1.7.3, 1.2.3 etc.
Just a random thought. .
Once this mod goes smp, I will be the happiest man on earth, or I would be if I could actually run vanilla :\ damn integrated processor/net-book
Saturday GMT+1 most likely. It's really hard to give an accurate estimate, but I don't have much left do do now so hopefully I'll be able to release it then.

Thanks! That's really nice to hear.
It would be possible to make that kind of generator, at least if I use the new biome system. It's not a priority right now though, because I have so much else I need to do first. Although there is something similar which will be in the next update, which lets you replace 1.7.3 rainforests with jungles (they look amazing with 1.7.3 terrain) and add vines to swamp trees. Both features are of course optional and disabled by default. There will also be one more update for 1.1.0 which will include those features (though no ocelots in that version). Except perhaps for bugfixes, that will be the last 1.1.0 version.
I'm going to wait until minecraft 1.3 before looking into SMP, because of the server mod-api they are making. I can't promise anything, but I do want to make an SMP version sometime.
Have you tried optifine for the performance problems? It is working great for me, so I highly recommend it.
but the bad thing of optifine is that when the sun is setting and you look at it the sky looks purple and you look to the other side and its blue and also makes the sky too bright during the day.

As that is quickly becoming very popular!

Not yet. It might be ready tomorrow.

You will be able to in the 1.2.3 version. Anvil will make all worlds double height.

And no, you're not annoying.
Thanks.
