OptiFine just released a new 1.8 version and now my minions are back, so those that can't see their minions get the new version and see if that fixes your problem.

I thought my kids would like this minion skin you made so I grabbed it and put it in the resource packs folder and it does not work, it does not even show up when you go to the in game option to choose resource packs. How did you get this to work, and will it conflict with the custom resource pack I am using, because normally you can only use one resource pack at a time.

(1) The invis thing is bothering me also. But mostly because I cant hit them the make them unload where I want. Can we get a keypress that says "everyone come here and unload". In fact I wouldnt mind one that says everyone come here and stop. At the moment I call them, wait, then unsummon them all
(2) picking up a cow worked great. Allowed me to carry a couple to town to make a herd. But picking up a pig failed. It just disappeared. I havent been able to test (minions wont ome up in creative mode) but I thinking maybe a mount picking up a mount causes a problem. Next time I see horses I will test it
(3) Minions picking me up (which happens too often because Im trying to hit them to make them drop stuff) will kill you in a tunnel. If its not 3 high apparently it hurts you. On the other hand apparently while they are carrying you can go thru 1-block holes like they do. I had a spawn cave I was looting. Actually leveling up my pet Bat (thank for that also). I had a 1 block hole that was chopping their feet thru. The minions showed up, I hit it to unload, it picked me up and carried me INTO the crowded spawn cave (on hardcore mode)
(4) lumbering doesnt seem to work for me. Maybe my resource pack. It crashes my game. When I feel tired of the minions I will try to test that
(5) 4 minions can carry a LOT. I was trying to sift thru the stuff and keep up with them but they dumped so much it crashed me. I tried to make just ONE minion but I cant seem to assign a dig without it summoning another so I guess you have to have all 4? Not sure what a good fix would be. Maybe the config file could have a setting so I can say only one minion max instead of 4
(6) I wish getting a minion was a little harder. It feels like cheating now.
Minions carrying animals has a sleight problem in that the creature they carry can become damaged and die; this may be due to dragging the animal through tree branches or some such.
I've had minions deforest an area so it works for me. But I'd rather that I could pick and choose either individual trees or a marked zone so they take only the trees I want them to harvest.
Minions seem to die/disappear when mining, resulting a loss of mined materials that makes me feel like I have to babysit them. Me being down there helping them mine defeats the purpose of delegating the job to miners. And with the invisible minions mining, it's difficult to gather what they mine.

I think that to avoid the "cheating" feeling I would rather that you had to have 50 levels to start. And that each summoning and use would cost a few levels the way that magic and repair do.
That way you couldnt get it until you were already established in the game. You also would have to consider the cost, and be frugal in its use.

I agree, this mod helps make the beginning of the game not so tedious, I too have other mods that this mod helps to prepare for, its a life saver when it comes to mining the things I need to make portals for other realms.

Curious. You have my update manager, and an outdated version of minions 1.9.6 as opposed to the current one 1.9.7. Did it not inform you of a newer version? It has a supposed fix for the exact issue you report.

Thanks, normally checking to see if my files are up to date is one of the first things I do, in this case I thought that since I got no notice that there was a new update I did not think about it, from now on I will check regardless before I post. Updated my files and logged on and had them mine a few different trees and no crash so I am happy.

Does anyone know how to tell the minions NOT to pick up certain things?
I can see how to add things for them to collect but not how to skip any.
Ive been far into games and had the minions dump a load at my feet. If there are multiple dumps before I can clean up then the game crashes (basically gets really REALLY too slow to even save). Id like to say "do not pick up stone, dirt, and diorite.
Even on the smaller loads I have do some workarounds to get what I want withouit sifting thru the piles. I keep multiple slots open by putting in 1 coal, 1 coal, 1 coal, 1 iron, 1 iron, 1 gold, 1 diamond, etc etc. Then after they dump I dig a deep hole under the floating **** so it falls, then I cap it so the minions dont pick it all back up.

I have had my game crash for the same reason. It would be nice if we could tell them not to pick up certain things like stone, dirt and so forth, I would even be willing to go and change it in one of the config files if need be. I never thought of going through those too see if it could be changed, a good way to break things is when I start changing config files lol. Did that with my EQ2, changed a config and broke it completely, had to do a file recheck.

I had changed the "number of minions" to 1 and that helped avoid being flooded. But I changed it to 2 so I could carry two of sheep, cows, chickens, pigs, rabbits when I wanted to start a pen

There is no error in that log, while the minions Map lock is reported hanging your game appears to be shutting down anyway
I will post the full error. Shortly after the Map Lock occurs I get World Leaks.
if someone know how to get it work with optifine plz tell us i really want optifine to get nice fps

The problem with "already established in game" is that by then I won't need miners, which is the only reason I use this mod.This is the tool I use to get gold, diamonds and redstone to make other more advanced tools in other mods.
By the time mid game comes around, there are many other mod devices and equipment available for mass mining of materials.

I agree, this mod helps make the beginning of the game not so tedious, I too have other mods that this mod helps to prepare for, its a life saver when it comes to mining the things I need to make portals for other realms.

Curious. You have my update manager, and an outdated version of minions 1.9.6 as opposed to the current one 1.9.7. Did it not inform you of a newer version? It has a supposed fix for the exact issue you report.
Ignore much of my earlier posts. Not only do I understand the problem with my comment about "already established in game"
but I also finally read the config files. All of the settings I wanted to change are in there. Costs, durations, number of minions, etc.
And I finally put some work into turning the very enjoyable jokey evil acts into a more RPG good guy acts.

Thanks, normally checking to see if my files are up to date is one of the first things I do, in this case I thought that since I got no notice that there was a new update I did not think about it, from now on I will check regardless before I post. Updated my files and logged on and had them mine a few different trees and no crash so I am happy.

Does anyone know how to tell the minions NOT to pick up certain things?
I can see how to add things for them to collect but not how to skip any.
Ive been far into games and had the minions dump a load at my feet. If there are multiple dumps before I can clean up then the game crashes (basically gets really REALLY too slow to even save). Id like to say "do not pick up stone, dirt, and diorite.
Even on the smaller loads I have do some workarounds to get what I want withouit sifting thru the piles. I keep multiple slots open by putting in 1 coal, 1 coal, 1 coal, 1 iron, 1 iron, 1 gold, 1 diamond, etc etc. Then after they dump I dig a deep hole under the floating **** so it falls, then I cap it so the minions dont pick it all back up.

I have had my game crash for the same reason. It would be nice if we could tell them not to pick up certain things like stone, dirt and so forth, I would even be willing to go and change it in one of the config files if need be. I never thought of going through those too see if it could be changed, a good way to break things is when I start changing config files lol. Did that with my EQ2, changed a config and broke it completely, had to do a file recheck.

I had changed the "number of minions" to 1 and that helped avoid being flooded. But I changed it to 2 so I could carry two of sheep, cows, chickens, pigs, rabbits when I wanted to start a pen
