Im in the need of a bit of help. I've been playing with this mod lately (on version 2.9.2.1) and whenever I spawn a comet kitty or alien creeper the game crashes. On my survival world I had seen multiple meteors and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Later, another one landed, I went to mine it and everything was fine, but while I was mining it, the game crashed. I have tried to re-open the world but it always crashes on startup. Can anyone help, I would much like to be able to play my world again.

Is there any chance you'd be able to make it so it just ignores these blocks or passes right through them?
Seems like he would have to make a special code, saying what meteors can and can't break through. This could open up the possibility of a config option, for modded blocks.
For those of you having issues with your game crashing when a meteor lands, it is because in versions 2.9 of the mod the entity registration and spawning was incorrect. This issue was fixed in version 2.10. I understand the New World modpack is in the process of being updated so this issue should fix itself. Your worlds are not ruined! Just update to the latest version and everything will run fine. You are not going to lose your world.

EDIT: Something I've found that I dislike with the mod is the timer, like I have it on quick mode and it warns me before a meteor like it's meant to, so I sprint there as fast as I can and then end up just waiting around for 10 minutes real time. You said that it warns you 'just before a meteor is about to crash' well 10 minutes doesn't seem like 'just before'.
Unfortunately, meteors are designed to spawn near the height limit so that they will always crash on top of something. The cloud blocks are solid so that what it hits. I can't implement the feature to where it checks for certain blocks because it would make this mod even more incompatible with other mods.
The Meteor Timer does give a little leeway to the time because you may not notice it right away. Plus, the meteor could crash extremely far away from you, depending on how the player has it configured. I will try to do some minor adjustments in the next update.
Also, just want to let everyone know that I'm still alive. I'm just busy working on another Minecraft-related project that I may share with you guys a little later in the summer. I will continue to update this mod when I get less busy, but I will also stop what I'm doing to update this mod when MC 1.6 rolls around. So have no fear!
Hey there. I had the 2.9 version of your mod, which worked fine, except from the known crash problem when the meteon falls. I downloaded 2.10 (my MC is 1.4.7 so there should be no problem), i deleted 2.9, but now when i open MC, i get a black screen. Any help?
2.10 is for MC 1.5.1+ so you need to update your minecraft as well. Then make sure you install forge.

Hey, im unable to mine Meteorblocks (atleast the ones underground others untested) with thaumcraft wand of excavation. Working as intended or could you fix that?

The reason they aren't breaking is probably because they have a high resistance to explosions. I shall modify the meteor ore to break more easily in the next update. And I like the idea of alien plants. I'll have to try and come up with something for that.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but I had a meteor shield set up and functioning and a kitty comet struck, destroying most of my house. Shouldn't the meteor shield protect against this?
Possible bug: I'm running a server, and whenever a Kitty Comet shower occurs, the meteors/comets are visible falling from the sky, but nothing ever happens on the ground. The falling blocks just go right through the ground and no kitties appear. The same even happens when using /kittyattack. The only thing that will make a Kitty Comet that actually works and drops kitties fall is a summoner.

I also had the same thing happen. Luckly the mud bricks seem to be somewhat blast resistant so not all of my chest where destroyed. The Meteor sheald should deflect the kitty comets away from your house.

Hello, I don't know if you've heard about this before, but my players encountered a kind of funny balance issue: You can unenchant meteor items at an anvil for XP, and then re-enchant them by right clicking. :-P
I'm not sure what can be done (maybe making enchanting the item deal a damage to the item and only allowing undamaged items to be right-click-enchanted, or having the enchant process add an "I've been right-click enchanted" NBT tag), but it'd be cool to do something about this infinite-XP loop.
I shall get this meteor shield bug fixed for the update next week. Minecraft 1.6 is coming next week so I'll try to have the update by release as long as MCP and Forge get updated enough to be used.
Also, quickfix for stopping Kitty Comets from falling is changing the Kitty Attack chance in the config file to 0.
Oh and Shields do not block meteors that are summoned, unless the meteor summoned was by someone who is not the owner of the meteor shield. This is to prevent griefing. This can also be turned off in the config file by changing "Allow Summoned Meteor Grief" to true.
Even though I have "B:"Text Crash Notification"=false" I still get the meteor falling messages. I am using 2.10.2 of the mod. I do not want messages when I use a summoner or when they spawn naturally, if that's possible...
