I adore this mod and was wondering if anyone has made a faithful32 patch for this mod? I would post this on the Faithful 32 page but I'm afraid it'll get buried with the massive influx of posts they get.
I think I've found a tiny error in the mod. I'm using hardcore darkness for true dark nights, and I've noticed that all burned out old meteor hits are still lit up. Thinking at first that the meteor blocks themselves emit light, I spawned some in and placed manually, no light. Looks like phantom light sources are being left behind which may not have been noticed with vanilla night brightness.
I'm having an issue with this particular mod and could use some help. Basically the explosion sound is way too loud for me. Every time a meteor strikes, I about have a heart attack because it startles me so badly!!
I turned down my environment sounds and it has helped for the most part... But I'd rather not have to turn down the volume because a single source of sound is too loud.
At this point in my game I don't plan to utilize the options that come with this mod, so I tried to disable it. However when I did that, I ran into problems creating new games. Here's the issue... I'm running a modpack from ATLauncher called Natural Magic. When I disable this specific mod I can start up my game, but when I try to create a new world my game crashes back to desktop. I can enable this mod long enough to create a new world, but after disabling it, when I get back in, when I try to open my inventory the game crashes to desktop.
I have attempted to edit the config file. I have all 5 meteor types set to false (with the kitty comet set to 0). I still get meteors. I set Comet Fall Chance to 0. I still get meteors. I know I can change the Meteor Fall Deterrence to reduce how often meteors fall, but what is the highest number I can use in that option? 1000?
I wouldn't mind keeping this mod around, it's just that explosion... I don't think of myself as someone who is easily startled, but that explosion startles the $#@%@#$ out of me every single $#@%@#$ time!!! I like a lot of the features of this modpack, so I'd like to keep playing it, but the meteors are a real problem for me.
I commend you for the hard work you've put into this, and I can certainly understand its popularity. I'm afraid it's just not for me... Any helpful suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Well, this is a unique problem. You're basically trying to remove the whole purpose of the mod or at least get rid of the "falling" portion of the name "Falling Meteors Mod". lol Disabling all the meteor types still defaults to keeping the meteorite type meteor enabled. You can set the deterrence to a much higher number, but it may take a 2 or 3 meteor falls before it gets to that setting. Basically, the meteors have already pre-planned to fall at this time on the old deterrence setting, but whenever the game plans a new meteor to fall it will use the new deterrence setting. So just set it to a high number (10,000) and let 2 or 3 meteors fall before it is properly set.

I've been constantly busy with my studies unfortunately. Once I get some free time, I'm going to try and get it updated. May not be for a while though.
I searched the thread to see if I could find any answers, but I'm afraid I couldn't! I'm having a really strange problem that hasn't been there before with this mod: I can't get ingots from the meteorite chips. I've tried reinstalling hexxit, replacing the mod, all sorts of different things, but I still can't put meteorite chips in the furnace and get meteorite ingots, which means plenty of armor and ect is completely unavailable to me. Is there any known solution to this problem? Thank you much!
Know What BE MORE AWESOME :D. If Galacticraft combined with Falling Meteors then that Would be EPIC
Like when your on the SpaceStation then Suddenly you see a Massive Meteor from the Falling Meteors mod Coming down to Earth. AlexDG that is my Request for everyone but Awesome Mod.
Great mod! Love the variety of meteors, and the mechanics are great! One small issue...I'm making a private modpack for my siblings and I to play, and for some reason, this mod isn't compatible with the Candycraft mod. I looked it over, and couldn't figure out how to fix it. If anyone could help me, that'd be Gr8 (see what I did there :P).
Guys when you make a mod you first have to do your homework.
A meteorite isn't hot when it falls on earth because it travelled many years in the cold space.
Of course it warms up when it falls but it wouldn't be much more then 0 degrees.
Also, before you purchase minecraft, make sure you check the capability of carrying lava in an iron bucket without it burning your hands.
Realize that it is just a game. I needed a way to give the players resources without giving them too many and without making a crash site look like a hole with a few random blocks scattered scarcely throughout. My mod is a not a simulation mod.
problem, you can use the crash detector without crafting it if you have NEI

My son dressed up as an alien creeper for Halloween this year! Thanks for creating such an amazing mod. We love it.
Wow! That is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
That costume is fantastic! Great job!

What about a 1.8.9 update?
I've been constantly busy with my studies unfortunately. Once I get some free time, I'm going to try and get it updated. May not be for a while though.
how about a colonization update
>:) Only One Person Could Get Further Than This
the alien creepers are here to colonize worlds including the minecraft earth to exploit and expand their empire
so any plans to add more types of alien creepers and where they came from?

so i take it my colonization idea isn't even thought of although it would fit the mod
