This mod was developed as a little side project of mine. I had seen previous Meteor mods before with some of the features I have here, but they have all been discontinued or missing. After many hours of coding I have completed my goal and come out with an awesome mod. This mod includes many excellent features that make it stand out from the rest of the old Meteor mods. The features of this mod are listed below.
Features:
Meteors Fall to the ground and explode, forming craters that house various minerals from space.
New Tools that give different properties: Magnetization, slowing enemies, burning enemies, mining underwater faster, etc.
New Armor Sets that give you different abilities: Magnetization, walking on water, immunity to fire, etc.
Mine all the minerals from the craters as quick as possible because the debris from the crash will cool, giving less minerals
Protect your precious creations with Meteor Shields that can be fully upgraded to protect a huge area of land.
Varying sizes and types of Meteors
Craft Detectors to find out WHERE a meteor is going to land
Craft a Meteor Timer to determine WHEN a meteor is going to land
Freeze blocks using the Freezer as well as craft ice, packed ice, and more.
Summon meteors down onto your friends with Meteor Summoners
Obtain an adorable Comet Kitty as a pet!
Configure the mod to your liking with many configuration options
Fully SMP compatible!
Multilingual!

Be sure to have Forge installed in order for this mod to work. Also be sure to install Baubles for the new Magnetization Controller!
Installation Instructions:
1.Install Forge
2.Run Minecraft once
3.Put the ZIP/JAR file in the mods folder located in your .minecraft folder (Do not unzip)
4.Run Minecraft and have fun!

Multilingual Support:
With update 2.10, this mod now has compatibility for multiple languages. Currently there are only two different languages other than English(US) that are available: German and Chinese. If you wish to help with translation, please check out the LANG file here: https://github.com/A...lang/en_US.lang
Once you have translated it over to your language, either message me on these forums or submit a Pull Request on Github for me to add it to the repository.I really hope I get some help with this because a lot of people really wish for this mod to be translated. ALL help will be greatly appreciated.
During the development of the mod, I had a guy that made most of the textures for me. Firecat did a great job with the armor and Alien Creeper but I probably need better textures for everything else. I'm willing to see anything if someone wants to make better textures for this mod. All credits will obviously go to whoever made the textures.

:tongue.gif: The shield you just place on the ground and let it charge then it will protect 41 chunks of your land around it. The torch you just place on the ground. If it lights up, that means that block is protected. If it doesn't light up, put a meteor shield down to protect that land fool! lol And yes, I think I've figured out that the textures need help. I'm up for suggestions. :smile.gif:
I think you need to make them more rare i just got 5 in a row also when right clicking the shield i got saveing chunks crash
Thanks for the input. I shall increase the rarity some more. I'm hoping to include a properties file soon so people can adjust how rare they want it to be, but that will come later. Possibly in next update.
It is compatible with pretty much every mod that I know of. It only alters two base classes and one will be okay if it is altered. Having ModLoader and Forge causes this mod to have little incompatibility with mods.
I think this would attract more visitors if you had a few details and pictures about the 'Alien' mob. If you do so i will download it :biggrin.gif: good looking mod btw

Idea: Maybe include the shield device into the recipe for some kind of warning device
(Like a display with a countdown till next meteor hits and rough coords?
(With maybe 3 Tiers of

3 + To indicate how accurate the time and location of impact is?)
Then you could add more variety to the meteors, such as ones that chuck out different materials
(Possible way to get End Rock with a portal, as well as adding new uses for it?)
also, extremely rare obsidian meteors?
Maybe even bedrock? (Next to impossible)
Maybe include anti- meteor lazers, with increasing intensities to kill different tiers of meteor?

Thanks for the input most definitely. I'm liking some of these ideas. I do want to add some variety to the Meteors besides just Meteorite Ore. I'm also trying to come up with a way to locate a crashed Meteor when it lands. And another way to tell when one is about to crash.

Yes, it actually falls down from the sky. It is not coded into the map generator.
It already has Forge and I probably won't make it SMP compatible until later on.
Yes, I love Terraria. I have nitpicked some of the features based off of it, but it is still Minecrafty.
