I think you've done a great job of not only making a very nice looking GUI, but you've also blown me away by added a friends list. This is one of those mods that I can't wait till they get updated to 1.2.
Please, please, please update this mod to 1.2.3 PLEASE! I spend so much time typing in IPs that my freinds are on and even then they can't be bothered leaving to tell me the IP

The idea with the chat disappearing, is quite nice and I might add that, because I agree it looks messy.
Does the buttons cover up the mojang logo for you?

No but on the left the buttons are higher than the ones on the right and i am saying that you should move them down to be parallel to the ones on the right.
