Hey been a long time fan of this mod. Even when other storage becomes available I still use IC's. Love it. Had a good idea today for a chest feature...maybe a tier above obsidian...the redstone chest....it could be obsidian textures with redstone on it or something idk...but its function would be to emit redstone signal itself under certain conditions. I had the idea watching direwolfs blood magic spotlight where the master ritual block needs to have a signal directly on it but its construction had no spots available but the chest...so would have to remove to place a lever. Could have many other uses with other mods and contraptions built as well...anyway just a thought. Thanks for all your work on the mod

I have a problem with this mod with textures. I texture stuff on my own, and I made my own texture for this, but there is a small problem with z-fighting.
the top area of the height=80 part seems to z-fight with the bottom area of height=40 part (see screenshot, highlighted red)
I must say that this is not a problem with my texture because I also noticed some z-fighting on sphax textures, but they minimized the issue somehow.
I switched the textures pixel-perfect, so don't worry about it.
They both have a dev build for 1.7.10 and they both look the same and they are BOTH active with recent updates. Even the file names are similar.
Are these the same mod?
Whats the difference?
Can they both be installed together - or does Iron Chests 2 replace Iron Chests 1 - and if so, why are they both being developed at the same time? Hmmmm

They're not the exact same mod, obviously. I personally opted for the one that's being hosted by Forge, but I think I'll get the other one and check to see which is actually better.
I wonder if the chests introduced in this mod will have Variety Chest versions if that mod is installed? Also, I know this seems pointless, but maybe add double chest versions of every chest in this mod.. I don't know.

Why does every single link to Iron Chests lead to this decrepit forum thread that the mod author hasn't updated in years and has no links to the latest versions for 1.7+?
I mean really, is it that hard to keep a forum thread up to date? Really? The Mod author is shaming his own work by not keeping relevant links to his work on his own thread and forcing us all to hunt down his current versions of third party sites, most of questionable integrity.
for the 1.8 version, after i place the jar file into the .minecraft/mods folder, when i open up minecraft, it just crashes and says this:

Any help? I've been having troubles with installing other mods with 1.8 also. By the way i installed Forge Modloader, not just Forge and i'm not sure if that's ok or not.
A link would be helpful, thanks!
I feel like a complete retard now lol
Reading works, look at the download page carefully. Note the HUGE link you're utterly missing.
http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/tech-and-co-beta.459307
You can never have too many mods. Add them until it crashes. Then, after fixing the issue, add some more
Unless you're making a modpack...
I was about to say the version independent one didn't work(because it doesn't -_-) but now.....
Thanks m8!

It goes in the mod folder
Both the server and the client will need this mod installed for it to work/
Im confused as to which "Iron Chests" Mod I am/should be dealing with here for my 1.7.10 MC world.
There is THIS development project here:
http://files.minecraftforge.net/IronChests2/
And there is another version being developed here:
https://jenkins.mc.dryware.org/job/ironchest/
They both have a dev build for 1.7.10 and they both look the same and they are BOTH active with recent updates. Even the file names are similar.
