Hey,

kinda new to MC modding, but i thought of a nice addition to ComputerCraft..

started to build a addon mod: ccSensors
basic idea is to have a sensor block that can be connected to a computer (via redstone cabling/dust)
and report a specific value. (as the name 'sensor' suggests :smile.gif:


there is a single sensor block which can have a specific sensor card inserted
which defines what information this sensor observes.

the sensor block will send the value to the computer via rednet?..

i'm still unclear how i can send a simple string from a custom block to a computer... (is there an API for ComputerCraft ??)


the sensors can be used for various info - like getting light Level,
can be used with other mods as well ,for IC2 - get reactor temp, EU/t, etc...

most of this is available as specific items that provide the data, thought it would be nice to be able to see that data on the computer... or even use it in LUA..

any thoughts? or help would be much appreciated :smile.gif:
