Hi guys, I'm new here! I'm running Minecraft 1.7.5 with OptiFine 1.7.5 HD U D1 and GLSL Shaders Mod 1.7.5. No Modloader, no magic launcher and so on... Also, I'm running SEUS Shaders 10.1 Ultra DOF, which I modified as in euphoria4949's signature guide to enable Parallax (btw, thanks for it!). It did work glitchy for a texture pack I accidentaly deleted, but now, any other texture pack I use does not have it. I think something else must be broken or I don't know, Is any chance to modify a texture to make myself the preps for parallax? Thanks in advance! PS: Thank you Sonic Ether for this awesome work! And other guys too...
Hi 6ENiGMA9, glad you found my guide helpful When you say that POM no longer works, what do you mean exactly, that there is no Parallax effect or there is but it's glitchy???
Having a few issues that I've seen other folks have, but can't seem to find any solution to it - The search is failing, and outside of going through all 1100 pages of this thread, I don't see any other way of getting the fix. The shaders work WONDERFULLY - The world is beautiful.
Looks AMAZING!
... Until it gets dark. The amount of ... glow? That the torches and glowstone put off is insane.
The nether is pretty much blinding, as are any mobs that glow (blazes, skeles on fire, etc) As I said ... I've seen teh question asked, but going through multiple pages afterwards I haven't been able to find any answer to fix this, and I'd rather not start editing random numbers in the files when I have no idea what the issue actually is. Thanks!
When you install mods that add new items/block that are not designed to be compatible with Shaders, the Shader Core doesn't know how to react light and shadows with them, that's why some of your new light items like the lanterns are glowing intensely. The mod that implements the new items needs to make there mod compatible with Shaders.
I'm currently running 10.1 ultra motion blur with a radeon hd 7770 (recently updated) on minecraft 1.7.4 with custom map. I use optifine and shaders for the 1.7.4 version Problem: I do not see rain or clouds in most cases. Instead I see a fog of sorts If I switch to the 10.1 preview 2 - i see the rain and puddles. Its too dark to tell if this resolves the cloud issue. I grabbed my copy of 10.1 ultra a month ago about. Is there a setting I can change or an update I can get?
Please see my "Bug Fixes and Improvements Guide" in my signature below, you will find it had a guide to fix the invisible rain as well as add puddles, and much more.

CRASH ON START UP AND/OR BLACK SCREEN WITH SMALL BOXES IN THE BOTTOM CORNER FIX
LAPTOP USERS ONLY!
You need to open your Nvidia or AMD Control Panel and set the "Preferred Graphics Processor" to Nvidia or AMD, NOT: Auto or Intel. Do this "Globally", not just for Minecraft.
If you do "Not" have either an Nvidia or AMD Control Panel then please read the guide below for: PC USERS ONLY.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PC USERS ONLY!
The descriptions and instructions for this mod, that you were supposed to read "Before" installing them, very clearly say:
"You need a modern and very powerful Graphics Card to run a shader."
"Intel HD Graphics are "Not" compatible with SEUS."
If you are "Not" using Intel HD and "Do" have a proper dedicated Nvidia or AMD graphics card but you still get the black screen or crashing, then please skip the next paragraph.
Intel HD: Intel graphics are not designed for modern gaming because it is "Not" a Graphics Card, it's an iGPU. This means it's a small part of your Processor/CPU that "ACTS" like a very low powered Graphics Card.
Intel HD is very weak, it's designed to give you enough graphical power to watch a movie, YouTube video or play a basic game, not for running extremely complex and demanding graphical mods.
For people "Not" using Intel HD: 1# - Your PC's graphics card is not powerful enough or is too old. The mods description clearly says you need a "Modern and very powerful graphics card!" 2# - Your graphics card driver is out of date. Update it to the latest version from your manufactures website. 3# - The wrong or an out dated version of the GLSL Shader Core mod is installed. 4# - You have mod installed or a setting that is causing an incompatibility.
Feel free to post on the SEUS thread if you want more info about whether your graphics card (Nvidia or AMD/ATI) is compatible.
There are some very basic and low-end Shaders available on Minecraft.net forum that might work with old or low powered cards and Intel HD.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAC USERS ONLY!:
If you had read the mods description you would have seen that it clearly says: "The author of SEUS Shader-pack has no access to a Mac, so is unable to provide Mac support at this time."
SonicEther, When I go to download the Shader Pack and when I get redirected to adfoc it does not work. When It redirects me I'm in a loading screen where nothing happens. May I have a direct download link?
Some of the DL links are down due to server issues. No ETA on them being fixed.
I absolutely love the shader, it gives very stunning results. There are however two minor gripes I have with it. First, modded leaf blocks are not recognized as such, and they will not wave in the wind. Is this part of the shader, or the GLSL mod? What would be needed to make it recognize them as leaves? Second, only blocks within a certain range of the player cast shadows, but this range is smaller than the rendering range. So you can have landmarks with a very long cast shadow (like mountains or redwood trees), and their shadow seems to miraculously dissolve as you move away, but the landmark is still very much visible, and should be casting shadows. The effect is a little jarring. I know the shadow map resolution is tweakable in the GLSL mod settings, but is there any way to influence the size of the area it covers?
Leaves: You need to find the Block ID for the leaves you want to add, then open "gbuffers_terrain.vsh" with Notepad++ (Not standard Notepad), then starting on line 208 you will see a section for Leaves, add the following code to the list and simply add the block ID to the end.
|| mc_Entity.x ==
Shadows: Shadows can be very taxing on a PC so the instance was reduced to allow for better FPS. To increase the shadow draw distance open "composite.fsh", locate line 39, and increase the number.
Any way of getting rid of these ugly white pixel-stripes in the sky? It looks very ugly. Version is 1.6.4 with SEUS v10.1 Ultra and forge. Except for that, the mod is beautyful.

BTW, thanks for the fix.
Sorry I didn't mean that to sound like I was biting your head off You are right though, things like this should be added to the front page but Cody (Sonic Ether) wasn't updated the page in a while, plus the amount of people that don't bother to read the description is just staggering!
Anyway, glad it sorted for you.
I fixed my parallax and sent euphoria a PM, maybe it will be featured in the guide... But until that I'm sharing with you, fellow enthusiasts: After uncommeting the ifdef line for Parallax as seen in euphorias guide, go on line 115 in the same file, and there you will find something like: ivec2 atlasTiles = ivec2(64, 32); change it to: ivec2 atlasTiles = ivec2(1, 1); Next, parallax will work nearly perfect, it may be too bumpy and break edges of blocks, I fixed that too (though, lowering parallax) Go around line 280, comment parallaxCoord.xy = OffsetCoord(coord.st, pCoord.st, 0); and after it paste: parallaxCoord.xy = OffsetCoord(coord.st, viewVector.xy * (1.0f - heightmap) * 0.0045f, 0); that should do it, please provide feedback
Yeah POM seems to be buggy for some people but not for others, I had issues with it and changing it to "ivec2 atlasTiles = ivec2(32, 32);" fixed it for me and one or two others, but for some it didn't :-\
Could you post screenshots of before your changes and after because it's hard to tell what issues you had exactly.

Unfortunately the issue occurs with ALL light sources, not just 'new' blocks that have the crazy glow (The second screenshot shows the lava & blazes) - it just happened that I was at a location that had one of the 'new' lights near it. It also occurs with regular ol' glowstone, and torches, as well as anything else that emits a glow (fire, etc). Would having new items 'break' all the old items also?

Sorry, I completely missed the second picture. Well mods that add new light sources "Shouldn't" break Vanilla ones but I couldn't guarantee it.
I would recommend removing All mods from your mods folder except for the GLSL Shader Core, also remove any texture packs and start a new world as a test platform, then one by one add the mods back to see if one of them causes the issue. Also update you graphics driver to the latest version, 337.88 for Nvidia and 14.4 for AMD.
If all that fails, let me know as you will have to tweak the config files to reduce the light sources.

Uninstalled all mods, except the Shader Mod, using Forge 1142, AMD 14.6 (There was an update the other day). Little to no change, unfortunately:
I've got no problems editing the files - I just didn't know WHAT to edit. The couple of suggestions that 6Enigma had ended up crashing me, so I stopped.

Hmmm, strange :-\ Curiosity, what GPU are you running on???
Anyway this is how to reduce the emitted light from different sources:
Open "composite.fsh" with Notepad++, (Not standard Microsoft Notepad, only use Notepad++)
Locate line "2224"
All light sources start from there. Increasing the numbers will obviously increase the brightness and decreasing will lower it.
Leaves: You need to find the Block ID for the leaves you want to add, then open "gbuffers_terrain.vsh" with Notepad++ (Not standard Notepad), then starting on line 208 you will see a section for Leaves, add the following code to the list and simply add the block ID to the end.
|| mc_Entity.x ==
I was afraid it would be something like this. This is not a very durable solution, since version 1.7.2 and later has no fixed block IDs, but saves them with the world; you would potentially have to adjust your shaders per-world. Lazyness becomes very relevant at this point .
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though: I did a little code spelunking, and came up with a better way. If you use Better Foliage (see my sig), this will be handled for you automatically, with a much easier and future-proof configuration.
(shameless advertising mode OFF)
I'll suggest a similar feature on the Shader Mod thread, since it's really useful and doesn't cause any measurable slowdown.

I am running a Nvidia GTX 750 Ti on latest drivers and am trying to use one of the SEUS Shader packs.
However, the packs start glitching out on water, held items, and on my hand. Like pixels are glitching out sort of.
I am using Minecraft 1.7.4 with Optifine and the mod included. All packs BUT Seus works.
Advanced GL is already off, I am on MAX Settings.
When I had AMD Radeon as my GFX card, this did not happen, and this is a better card. My friend that also has a Nvidia GTX card has the same issue with Seus packs.
Assuming you're using one of the non-Forge versions of shader mod, for 1.7.4 or 1.7.5, did you launch the game with the new shader profile created by the shader mod installer? Have SEUS pack placed in the shaderpacks folder and selected in the in-game shaders menu?
Okay. I know I need to use a Nvidia or AMD graphics processor, and I seem to have Intel. I have no idea how to change this.
I'm real sorry about being so troublesome here, but the instructions are rather unclear and not everyone is as tech-savvy as you.

I am sorry to say but this is a well known common issue with the 750 and 750Ti, (Possibly 1 or 2 other models as well that use the same architecture). Have a search of the thread using the search bar and you will see dozens and dozens of posts from people reporting the same thing and lots of us trying to figure out a fix for it. This happens with most complex shader-packs and there are also lots of reports on other forums that the 750/750Ti is having the same issues in other games as well. It seems to be either experiencing simple driver issues that Nvidia has yet to smooth out, or it just plainly can't cope/understand certain coding.
In the mean time some 750/750Ti owners have managed to avoid this bug by using 10.1 "Preview 1"....... But, the download links are currently down for it AdFoc.us is having server issues, but hopefully it will be back up soon.

Hi 20firebird, no need to say sorry, you're not being troublesome at all
Ok what you need to do is, open "Windows control panel", then look for either "Nvidia control panel", or "AMD control panel" (Sometimes known as ATI). If you find either one of those, come back here and let me know which one you have and I will talk you through what to do.
You can also look for it by "Right Clicking" on any empty space on your desktop, a little drop menu will open and you may see it there if you have one.
BUT..... If you do not have either then I'm sorry to say but this shader-pack and most shaders will not work, as it means you only have Intel HD Graphics.
There are one or two very basic shaders around that do work with Intel HD though.
Let me know how you get on, and if you would like to know why Intel HD does not work I have explained it in the spoiler below.
Intel HD: Intel graphics are not designed for modern gaming because it is "Not" a Graphics Card, it's an iGPU. This means it's a small part of your Processor/CPU that "Acts" like a very low powered Graphics Card.

Hey, been using your pack from a while, and I'm loving it. Finally utilizing the extra horsepower of my 760 is awesome. Only thing is I found two bugs that have really have annoyed me lately.
Not sure if its the mod itself or the shaderpack. Let me know if I need to post on the mod forum.
1. Blindness makes the whole screen black instead of 5 feet in front of you. This usually wouldn't bother me, unless its in a custom map or server that uses them.
2. Night vision does nothing. It still is dark as night when using it.
Whenever you get around to fixing these is much appreciated!

BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass
CartLivery (1.6.4, 1.7.x) - Pimp your minecarts
For modders: simpledeobf - get OptiFine in your dev environment
However, the packs start glitching out on water, held items, and on my hand. Like pixels are glitching out sort of.
I am using Minecraft 1.7.4 with Optifine and the mod included. All packs BUT Seus works.
Advanced GL is already off, I am on MAX Settings.
When I had AMD Radeon as my GFX card, this did not happen, and this is a better card. My friend that also has a Nvidia GTX card has the same issue with Seus packs.
Yes i do beleive so.
Intel HD is very weak and is designed to give you enough graphical processing power to watch a movie, YouTube video or play a basic game, not for running extremely complex and demanding graphical mods like a shader.
That is not a link to your picture, that is it's directory on your own PC, we can't see that unless we are using your PC.
Please use the forum search bar to search a thread before posting in future, as your question has been asked and answered hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times already, it's been answered 23 times on last few pages alone.

If you are "Not" using Intel HD and "Do" have a proper dedicated Nvidia or AMD graphics card but you still get the black screen or crashing, then please skip the next paragraph.

For people "Not" using Intel HD:
1# - Your PC's graphics card is not powerful enough or is too old. The mods description clearly says you need a "Modern and very powerful graphics card!"
2# - Your graphics card driver is out of date.
