When I said "deadly neurotoxin," the "deadly" was in massive sarcasm quotes. I could take a bath in this stuff. Put it on cereal, rub it right into my eyes... honestly, it's not deadly at all... to *me*. You, on the other hand, are going to find its deadliness... a lot less funny. - GlaDOS, Portal
Whenever I've installed the mod, the only feature that would work would be waving grass, and now the advanced options menu and other features won't work. Please help, what am I doing wrong??
EDIT: Nevermind, had to manually install it.
The installer is pretty glitchy, but this mod is amazing. s to you, friend.
Do torches already work in this mod? I saw videos, where torches were dark. Maybe it's the same with lava and glowstone. I don't know. It's a great looking graphic-mod, but if other light sources dont work, it's only a screenshot- or show off-mod.
Lighting still works as normal, but everything inside a shadow appears darker. This means that lights will appear to not be working, even though they are. Currently the shader creator does not have an effective workaround.
After trying to install this mod with almost every possibility i still have no textures...

well...i have optifine (and too many items). i insatlled them both after this mod, and its not working. i looked in options and saw no new ones. i have a windows 7 laptop with intel pentium and a chipset family graphics card, x64 bit. what should i do? i cant find any help on here...
Install mod after Optifine. Also, Chipset family graphics card may not work with this mod.
How do I uninstall this mod. It is a great mod and done very well but i dont really want to playing with 40fps all the time. I know someone has probably already answered this but I couldnt find it. Thanks
Same way you uninstall any mod: Force an update in Minecraft.
Help!!! I have a problem with this mod my PC:

Something is broken or this isn't compt with MC Patcher only?
Sorry but I don't trust Optifine or whatever the hell it is called and Don't like it, I'm using MC Patcher which is great.
Here is my point:
Whole world have graphical bugs like that in distance (they are blinking) on my SMP server :/ (I didn't tried on single because I don't play on single)
It's basically like this, or some trees or building blinking from far away (when you shouldn't suppose to see them.)
Install went fine, without any problems. About mods, I got modloader, rei's minimap and matmos, all of them works great while this is installed.
EDIT: Tried to install Optifine = Not working, MC won't start.
EDIT2: Installed Optifine, removed MC Patcher, all other mods are still present. The flashy things in far away was removed but the "shadows" on sky are still present:
EDIT3: Also Minecraft crashes after minute of playing :/ (PS: I've tried your shaders with the original mod... was the same and to that The image was even blurry :/ )
Yeah, Optifine is required to stop some artefacts sadly. The shadows on the sky can be fixed by turning the sky off in Optifine. Glare should help counteract the ugliness.
Hi there
I'm running in a Macbook Pro with intel i3.
When I use OptiFine the game doesn't work, but without OptiFine is running with a problem.
I tried to fix it, but I can't. I'm getting little segmented black lines all over the screen.
Hope someone can help.
There's a pic bellow about the lines
Some Mac users are experiencing this problem, something to do with how it processes graphics or something. What is your GPU?
I dont see why you shouldnt like optifine, its a hd patcher, that also adds more control over the game -and can double your fps.
But to each their own. What you need to do is install optifine FIRST, then install the shaders. Some people have to install the shaders twice, also. I did. The flashing in the distance is a result of not using optifine.
Trust me, this mod eats fps, you need optifine to even have a remote chance.
But if you don't like it that much, the regular GLSL shaders, link on the 1st page, doesnt require it. Its only dynamic shadows that do.
I personally don't like Optifine due to its compatibility issues with some mods, and the fact that it does nothing for my FPS at all, except lower it by 2. The only thing I like about it is that I can increase my view distance for single player.
Sure, if you wan't to run out of memory almost immediately.
Nope. Running it with a 256 TP with all shaders that look good activated, and Bumpmapping on as well, and I have no out of memory errors. Allocate more memory to Java and your problem be fixed.
Hey I installed everything correctly and the only thing i got were the optifine things.
I went to the composite.fsh but it didnt even have a shadowres thing.
and i used text edit to open the .fsh file and im on a mac, can you help?
i forgot to add that it only gves me the glsl shaders instead of DynShadows
Please read the rest of my post that is not all (you missed EDIT2 and 3). Also My MC runs fine with good fps ^^
I read your entire post.
But anyway, with optifine installed, the distant artifacts should go normal. To stop shadows from being rendered on the sky, go into your video options and disable the sky.
As for minecraft crashing constantly, you probably need to allocate more memory. Mine crashed every 5 minutes until I allocated more, now it works great. Except the 30 fps part. I uninstalled it today, now I get 300 fps. :1
Some Mac users are experiencing this problem, something to do with how it processes graphics or something. What is your GPU?.
Is an Intel HD Graphics 3000, Integrated, 384 MB
And I said was an Intel Core i3, actually is an Intel Core i5, 2.3Ghz, with 4GB of memory
The game with the shaders works just fine, no lag, only problem are this segmented lines
Wow, you replied a lot of questions, really nice! :smile.gif:
Thank you
- i got some flashing where chunks (i believe there are chunks) turn invisble ( so i can see xray like through the terrain). This occurs only for half a second and even less, but it's really annoying.
- I have sunrise/sunset in caves. Everythings light up, even if there is no torch.
- The light outside of my house is britgher than inside, even with 9001 torches inside.
- Also if i put a oven in a room, like a mud house, and fire it, the outside is brighter than inside.
I will maybe be able to take a video of it later.
Here my specs:

- i got some flashing where chunks (i believe there are chunks) turn invisble ( so i can see xray like through the terrain). This occurs only for half a second and even less, but it's really annoying.
I think this is an Optifine bug, I get this where it'll last about a minute.
- The light outside of my house is britgher than inside, even with 9001 torches inside.
Let's face it, outside is almost always brighter than inside in real life. When I go outside into my large yard and come back in to my fully lit house it looks quite dim for a few minutes until my eyes adjust.
- Also if i put a oven in a room, like a mud house, and fire it, the outside is brighter than inside.
Furnaces only make as much light as a torch; see my comment above.
And to whoever above complained about Optifine incompatibilities:
If a mod is incompatible with Optifine, then that mod is almost definitely not going to be compatible with this one because it's going to alter the way the game renders things somehow. Most good mods, such as IC2, Millenaire, RedPower 2, BuildCraft, Pam's Mods, TehKrush's Mods, daftPVF's mods, Risugami's Mods, Flan's Mods, MightyPork's mods, etc., are compatible with Optifine.
Hi!
First of all, thanks for this great mod.
Unfortunately, I went through some problem. I have a mac OSX. I downloaded OptiFine Smooth and installed it with magicLancher. Then I downloaded the shaders mod and installed it as you wrote it. But then as I started a new map, I takes a while to load and then the screen turns black and I can only see the bar with the items at the bottom and the curser. The game is like freezed, I can't do anything, I can't even pause so I had to force quit.
I tried it many times. I even downloaded a new minecraft so that it's really clean. I have the 1.1 update.
I don't know if someone else had this problem too...
Thanks for your help!!
Seems like a lag issue to me. When I don't have Optifine installed but I have a lot of other mods installed and the settings are still at the default Far view, it can last about a minute like this before loading correctly. You might not have enough RAM, or your graphics card isn't good enough.
Can you please help me. I installed this correctly and followed the video, I also tried the things in the troubleshooting section but nothing worked. Could you please help? Here is the error I get.

It's a little bizarre you have to be online to install the files that are already there. How can I install this with out being online? Tried moving to jar but didn't work obviously.
I installed it like 10 times correctly and everytime i click on my world it spawns me in my world but everythings blue, like im looking at the sky or something. But i can move or anything

Yeah, don't disagree with you, but do a experiment. Grab some torches and some wood, a door and a furnace + coal or what ever. Build a little house without any windows and ****. Place the torches and the furnace inside, fire it. Get outside, your walls should glow in an unrealistic brightness. And this even the stuff is inside your house with the door closed.
I have a big problem, i did everything right but i dont get the shadows, i have a circle around me that's white and I am on a iMac so it should be fast!
Even put the fastest settings...
Sure, if you wan't to run out of memory almost immediately.
wont happen if ya allocate more mem. i have 512x tp with this shader. allocated 4gb to java no probs. runs great on my monster beast!!
EDIT: Nevermind, had to manually install it.
The installer is pretty glitchy, but this mod is amazing.
My comp is not the problem; I run BF3 on max settings and last 50x longer than I could on this mod.

Profit.
Seriously, there is nothing you need to change. It will work fine with 256 TPs

Blame Minecraft's poor optimisation and it running on Java.
Check page 52, though I don't at all get why you're crashing like that.
It is compatible with Optifine. Hell, Optifine is semi required for it. If its not working for you, you're doing something wrong.
