I made a quick video. It's running at double speed. Bloom and SSAO are on, cross-processing is off.
I love the mod so these criticism are meant positively:
- I find the shadows a bit too dark (while daxnitro's originals are too slight)
- Moonlight is way, way too bright, it's like daylight
- The scary shadows in the sky must go (featured prominently in the second half of the vid)
- Objects in the middle distance (for example the central tower in the first half of the vid) don't have any shadows, this makes things look when you compare objects nearby with things in the middle distance
Video recorded at my base on the hhminecraft.com server.
You're right. A few hours ago I lowered the contrast between the sunlit area and the shaded area and it looks much better. It's also a little easier on the eyes because it's slightly less bright. The scary shadows will likely be fixed when 1.1 update comes around. I'm also working on a really cool bokeh DOF shader that I stumbled upon--I might post some teaser screenshots of that. I also want to cascade shadow resolutions so that I can extend the draw distance of shadows while maintaining good visual quality and performance, but I'll wait for 1.1 to start doing that.
Great shaders I remember when these first came out and were amazing! You have accomplish alot from where it started, but sadly you still have a ways to go :sad.gif: Took a couple of screenies of some of the problems not yet posted.

Good job and keep it up i'd love to see this mod go a long way
on minecraft 1.0.0 i installed the optifine mod and this one, ran the installer jar, and it all finished fine but now my minecraft won't launch. it gets stuck at "Finished loading". what am i doing wrong?
beautiful mod! :smile.gif:...is this smp and texture pack compatible? It's a gorgeous mod, although the shadows shimmer and glitch around a bit :smile.gif:
EDIT: One tip though...I feel as if the light bloom/brightness is waaay to bright. I love it, but it makes it seem like the sun is as close to us as the moon haha
This mod is amazing! i just have 1 slight problem when my minecraft in the mini windowed version i get around 45 fps (with all of your tweaks included) but when i maximize the window or hit full screen the FPS drops down to around 11 is there any way i can fix this?
Wow. This mod is amazing, and it just got a ton of publicity from captain sparklez's video on it.
I only have one thing to say, and that's that when he showed off the mod, it seemed that wolves had 2 shadows: 1 from the mod, and one from regular mc.
Unfortunately, I can barely play minecraft on tiny render distance and minimum settings, so this isn't the mod for me.
This is incredible! Sadly, anything having to do with the GLSL Shaders puts my FPS to crap, this especially. I maxed at about 10 frames, so I won't be using this unless it gets optimized. Here's a quick screenie I took.
Woah,What texture pack is that?

My issue: If I don't install Optifine, the Installer works just fine, but the shader looks crappy (with the weird lines and what not).
But when I install Optifine like I'm supposed to, the Installer stops saying there is a "fatal error."
Anybody else have this problem?
I'm running mac OSX Snow Leopard, if that helps.
is it possible you have a jar editing program open? sometimes when im putting the optifine mods in i leave the program open and that blocks out the patcher. Also make sure minecraft is closed too
Open the installer, and click the button that says "Install Mods"

Also is there a way to remove some of the bloom?
