is it normal when you are inside a cave or a building that everything is black even with torches inside?
Yes. You're on SMP, right? It's known that torches won't work on SMP with this mod, and this is being worked on.

Let’s play good guys against bad guys… Yes. Let’s play that. Are you ready? You’re the bad guy. And when you’re bad, you just run. That’s fine right? Well… Shall we play?
Hi Minecraft.... I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix the problem with some texture packs where a block being mined changes colors (inverts or something, usually almost black). The textures I know this happens with are Synthetic Reality (256x) and LB Photorealism (128x and 256x). Thanks in advance.
P.S. I will post pics if needed.
Sorry if this has been asked. I did try searching and also went back to page 300 searching for "leaves".
The leaves are wavy but they're really wavy. How do I make the effect a bit more subtle? I looked at the file and I can't make much out of it. Is it the rainstrength thing? The wheat and grass are perfect but those leaves move way to much.
Aside from that, I think it's worth saying that torches do work in single player. They're not as bright with out the mod but they do light up. I was hesitant to install this because of that.
When i try to install it and open up installer.jar and i click on install mods it says Fatal Error. Is there a way to fix it? I am on a MAC with Lion installed. i don't know if it makes a difference though

Anyway, thanks for any help with those leaves.
You will have to edit the gbuffers_terrain.vsh file. It is in the zip file the installer under /content/shaders, I believe. You will see large-ish blocks of code responsible for the waving movement of each block with lots of trig functions and other stuff, scroll down about half way until you find the part pertaining to leaves. Find the line that starts with "float magnitude" and it will end in "* 0.35;". Change the 0.35 to a smaller number until you find one you like. You will have to also change the settings for each type of leaf, the code is labeled.
yes, another problem that i have is that when i use the installer and i wanna check my files again i can´t I'm in a mac so i need to make .jar and when i try to rename my folder to .jar minecraft don´t recognize my folder.
Is there a download for a manual install of this, I cant use the installer because im trying to install this with a modpack that uses a custom launcher/
I read through the first 6 pages. I am not reading through the 300 rest.
After installing "CORE (everyone else)", there is no "shaders" folder in my minecraft.jar. I have optifine and this installed before I install the shaders. I'm on a mac. It also says it has completed the installation.
I even made my own "shaders" folder and copied the directed files from the default config files into it. Ran minecraft and it still looks like default minecraft.
I probably did something utterly obvious wrong. Help me.
EDIT: I also copied in the Ultra config files and still no change.

I've had the same issue and I just managed to fix it. This is caused by running windows XP. The installer .exe seems to not works with XP. Instead download the installer for everything else (non-windows) and follow the steps there. This fixed it for me - hopefully it works for you!
Hey all. Does any1 know how to fix this ? Basically if im underground I can see the the sun shine rising which causes all the shades to follow it while im underground.
Just wanna pipe up and mention how awesome this is and also that the seemingly decent amount of people that are actively helping users troubleshoot their issues with the mod, either be it with bugs or with user error. Really nice to see the thread SO active with so many people offering advice and help to peeps.
Basically as close to an electronic hug to you guys as I can give. Thanks.
PS: I mentioned some red dots on trees previously, it was tied to the fog. If the fog is disabled through the optifine options the issue goes away, I'm not sure if this has been covered before. Seems like a small bug, nothing crazy and didn't seem to make things unstable. Just visually finicky.
Also I echo the comments that the mod looks beautiful during the day but night time seems WAY unfinished. Like MEGA dark and torches and things offer almost no light etc, seems very much WIP I'd imagine. Looking forward to decent night time (so dark I really just don't play with this mod now, cause it's close to unusable at night)
I'm having the same problem. Have you found a work-around?
no, not yet. I'm waiting for the answer from the OP
UPDATE: OH MY GOSH!!! my minecraft looks amazing!!! i have to run nitrous.jar (although im using windows 7)
and it finally worked!
