Hi there,
If you run a 1.0.1 server with mods that haven't been updated, you can use this mod to keep the old version, and allow new 1.1.0 clients to connect to your server. However, it doesn't add any features of 1.1.0 - if a player tries to use a mob spawner egg, they'll be disconnected. You'll see other 1.1.0 features that won't work as well, but players will still be able to connect with the latest client as an interim solution.
This is a server mod - place these files in a 1.0.1 minecraft_server.jar file. Do NOT delete META-INF.
Updated
This mod now does the following:
* Allows 1.0.0 and 1.1 Minecraft users to connect to the same 1.0.1 server
* Includes both the new and old recipies for golden apples
* Updates the bounding boxes of fence gates and ladders
In short, this should serve as an interm bridge for your server that will allow people to upgrade, or stay at 1.0.0. That way, their mods and your server mods can wait to be updated as long as needed.
well ii just installed it on a server and i can still connect to it from my 1.0.0 minecraft so it hasnt broken the server at the very minimum also my virus scan came up clean so stop with this virus nonsense. i dont know if it will allow 1.1.0 clients to join because i cbf updating
it's so that people don't have to go from 1.0 to 1.1 for messing with ssp/csp stuff and then downgrade and world backup to play on the servers with mods next time read the posts
It probably edit some base files giving him OP acces on the server it's installed on,
ok that makes no sense because what would be the point he would have to know what servers have it installed plus the owner's/mods would notice and he would be changed back so like i said there is no point and i know i'm defending him but this kind of mod would be really useful for big updates like 1.1 and some people are just that good at modding. look at sdk guns, the aether, mocreatures, and lots of other mods i will agree that a once post person with a mod is suspicious but maybe this guy made a mod and wanted to post it somewhere like here

This is not compatible with Bukkit. I'm working on that.
I have one post and joined today because, until today, I hadn't really had something post-worthy (except maybe for my other mods, but w/e)
Did you install this on a client? This is a server mod.
Reporting Thread.
Ah! I didn't write a virus :sad.gif: You don't have to delete META-INF for server mods! He probably intsalled it on his client jar.
I probably should have read the thread better...
I'm using bukkit though so I can't.
Actually, does it work for bukkit? Testing that now.... :biggrin.gif:EDIT: Does not work on bukkit.
I'm not sure if it works with bukkit. Give it a try.
Would you mind editing your posts from before so I don't look bad? :sad.gif:
EDIT: Looking into a Bukkit version now.
it may be a virus and i know HTML Java C++ and python
