Fixed -another- stupid material mistake
Compiled for 1.1
If somebody else could verify for me that it -does- work in 1.1, I had a bit of trouble updating so I'd love the second opinion- Working on changing how the blocks are propagated to no longer use metadata, hoping to expand to colored phosphorus

It works, but with a bizarre anomaly; giant glass pillars generate randomly across the landscape.

It activates a timer in Notch's office. If he doesn't update Minecraft in 1 hour, rocket turrets blast his office building to bits.
Edit: The glass pillars show the locations of the phosphorus caverns.
Haha! That was my mistake leaving my debug bit in- I did catch it pretty promptly, rebuild the package and reupload, but to the wrong place! (Doh)
Anyways, for todays update, Colored-phosphorus, new generation rules, Caverns generate in Slime Chunks, support for growth in the Nether (disabled until I can test it more)
Just tried it out , started a new world on creative . Spawned in a Taiga , dug straight down , tunneled around for abit and came across a cool looking purple phosphorus section . I like the little stalactites that form on the ceiling pieces . Nice work overall and adds a nice touch of difference that minecrafts underground is currently lacking compared to the amazing underground features found in real life caverns .
Also nice work adding basic functionality and not going crazy with items to use phosphorus for...even though that multi coloured glowiness could hint at many decorative uses!
I just started using mods this week , and I like this , going to keep this one .
One question - could you update/upgrade version for MC1.0.0 with such biome-based Colored-phosphorus?
I guess its works only with 1.1
would be great if you could do this for older version of your mod also.
Thank you.
I apologize for that, I really should have taken down the MC1.0.0 version after adding the colored phosphorus, since I can see it being misleading. At this point I've taken it down, and because of the complications involved in keeping two active copies (MCP renames things each version, so there is a fair bit of work porting), and I can't say I have any particular intent to return to it, especially by this point with everyone rushing the 1.1 compatibility.
It looks amazing, but when I put a stick in any crafting table it can turn into a stack of cavern. Is that supposed to happen?
Oh gosh, that's totally my mistake, was part of my testing code! (Along with some of the earlier mentioned glass pillars-of-Im-Too-Lazy-To-Find-My-Own-Generation). Putting up an update now that will address that, thanks!
Placed phosphorus is colorable
Phosphorus colors adjusted slightly
Placed phosphorus doesn't explode (Unless something else explodes on it)
Phosphorus formation frequency has been reduced
Phosphorus now has a slight sizzling particle effect
Phosphorus (the item) no longer uses the Light Gray Dye texture, but instead the egg-spot texture.
New Recipes:
Phosphorus is dye-able using Red, Magenta, Purple, Blue, Cyan, Green, Lime, and Orange dyes
Four Phosphorus combined will produce one dye of the appropriate color, except for Blue (Lapis)
Four Phosphorus around one sand will yield three gunpowder
One Phosphorus with one bonemeal yields to of the appropriate (Non-lapis) dyes
Four Phosphorus around one Smoothstone yields a cavern block
One Phosphorus and one stick yield three torches (Is this too generous?)
Phosphorus can be used as a very-low-grade fuel (Two phosphorus = Three Sticks)
This update functionally changes phosphorus to be a cheaper alternative to lighting then Torches or glowstone that can be placed on ceilings, however it's brightness isn't particularly high, and it's prone to empowering creeper explosions, so be careful laying it too densely.
I'd love to see a way to get coloured cavern blocks. It would be incredibly useful for creative building.
This is planned, currently my intended feature list is to add the other fifteen phosphorus rock blocks (At the moment, types of phosphorus will create the red stone blocks) then work on SMP support.
Hey, I made a somewhat indepth mod spotlight of Phosphorus Caverns and I thought I'd post it :smile.gif:
Thank you -very much- for this! I'd been hoping somebody would make something like this. I've added it to the front post- A few things about it, yes, the drop rate is 1-4, and the burn rate is 2 Phosphorus = 3 Sticks- You covered most of the core features, except for Phosphorus + Bonemeal = 2 Dye, and when placed phosphorus is destroyed by an explosion, it has a fair chance of exploding itself; That all said, I hope you don't mind that I put it on the front post!

No problem, thanks for featuring it on the front page :smile.gif: I'll put some annotations in the video where I missed those things. Excellent mod by the way :smile.gif:
Whenever I install this, it crashes. I only installed Modloader along with this. I deleted the META-INF folder. The Error report doesnt even stay on screen - it just exits.
