When you open the movie in QuickTime, go to the top left and click File -> Export. Change the Format (at the bottom of the window which appears) to 'Mac & PC'. If Mac and PC is not there, chose any of the Formats closest to the bottom OR any format which is not 'Movie'.
I use Arch Linux, installed Minema and Forge properly, x246 and ffmpeg are also installed via Package Managment.
When I try to capture, the only thing I found in the Moviesdirectory is a file encoder.log which tells: "x264 [error]: not compiled with MP4 output support".
I tried different solutions for the parameters (both x246 and ffmpeg) postet hier the forum, but nothing works.
advices for me?
the last thing i'am willing to try is to compile x246 manual
Hm, that's unfortunate. The x264 build for Arch Linux apparently doesn't support MP4 files. I thought that's possible with all builds.
Well, there's a possible solution, but it depends on if you know how to mux .h264 files. Maybe try ffmpeg instead, I can give you the manual config values for it.
Look 1 post above yours. Barracuda: you could update the front page for less comments on that.
I think he doesn't mean the x264 build page but the mod download for beta2, which indeed was down for a few hours, because I moved stuff to an upgraded server and forgot to re-sync with the old server.
But I updated the x264.nl link anyway, not sure what's going on there...
if you can give me the config values for ffmpeg, that would be fine
Alright, sorry for the delay.
Set S:encoder.path to "/usr/bin/ffmpeg" (I think, depends on the distribution) and S:encoder.params to "-f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb24 -s %WIDTH%x%HEIGHT% -r %FPS% -i - -an -pix_fmt yuv420p -c:v libx264 -preset ultrafast -qp 0 %NAME%.mp4".
I installed forge, it was working fine, but when I placed the minema file into the mods folder, minecraft crashes. It tells me 'capture.enabled' has no scope.
I found the capture.enabled line in the minema.cfg file, but I have no idea how to fix this problem. Any help?
EDIT: Never mind! I deleted the file and restarted minecraft. Now I have a different problem though. The video output is all corrupted and won't play.
EDIT 2: I experimented a bit, and found that by removing the x264.exe file, it exported in photos. I had already known this, but it proved that there is not an error in your code, but in x264. I'll try a few more things.
EDIT 3: Got it to half-way work. The video still can't play normally, but VLC managed to play it. Unfortunately, you still can't edit it.
I'm struggling a lot with the new beta version of this mod along with the 1.5.2 patch. I can't view anything in windows media player or open it for editing in sony vegas (Like I could with the 1.4.6 version), without converting it and loosing a lot of quality first. It does play in VLC though.
And that's not even my main problem! My main problem is that the movies keep on "crashing". This happens at both somwhat unpredictable and predictable spots.
And example is when I try to record a slow motion shot of an arrow, using camerastudio as my means of camera movement. When I leave it to itself and the path is in no way jerky, it usually works. However, if I hit a tree in the path, or I'm not in creative so I fall down when the path is finished, it's almost certain to crash that that point. Same if I try to move my cursor.
And I have no idea what's up with that... Again, I'm using the 1.5.2 patch.
I hope you can make the new version even better than the old one. Appriciate your work!!
Thanks in advance,
Encoder.txt of arrow shot, freezes at frame 2311 according to VLC.
I have an issue: I am recording a video on my server using Minema, and when I complete my video recording, I check my .minecraft folder in the movies folder, and all there is is a notepad file named "encoder", but not my video. Where is my video?
im am a big noob sorry but one question ._. what program should i use to put together all the .png files from making the video, come all together to actually make it a video? sorry for noobish question ._.
Every recording I make, the result is an MP4 file that cannot be played in Windows Media Player, and if I play it in VLC, there is only 1 or 2 seconds of the recording in the beginning and then about 3 seconds of very distorted picture with the colors all out of whack. Also, for the 2 seconds that it does play, the screen is split into 4 sections like a square 2x2 image. I am using the default settings except for the FPS I set to 120. Also, what does the Benchmark option do in the config? there is nothing explaining that.
Can anyone help me solve this issue? or is it an issue with the mod?
Is there a way to change the default save location for Minema? Saving movies under the .minecraft directory is a huge problem for SSD and RAMDisk users. :/ (Yes I know 1.6 allows this. I would like a 1.5.2 way)
