Hey guys I think I have a possible solution for the codec problem.
I've also been struggling to get my minema to render correctly again, it seemed as if VLC was always able to play the recorded video files but I could never use the scenes in Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas.
After reading up a bit on the x264 documentation I've noticed that minema uses the render settings "--qp 0" which is the Constant Quantizer mode or "lossless mode". After playing around a little with the settings I found an installation which works perfectly for me without using that constant quantizer mode, so here is the solution I can offer you to try for yourself:
1. Open the minema config file in .minecraft/config/ and look for the paragraph entitled as "#video".
2. Make sure you have the latest version of x264.exe in your .minecraft/bin folder
3. Find the line "I:encoder.mode=0" and change that value to 2.
4. Find the line that starts with "S:encoder.params=" and set the line to this
clearly not enough; download the file you are supposed to put in bin folder (decoder) since new minecraft do not have bin folder anymore make one in your .minecraft folder drop the download in there done.
and i do have the encoders of course, thanks for a amazing mod, just wish this was fixed
seus shaders ultra btw
Something changed in Camera Studio in 1.5 so that it no longer works for tiled resolution. Furthermore the Camera Studio creator hasn't been active for over a month. Things aren't looking good ;___;

that he aint active for a month does not mean anything. he updates posts and leaves. so he did previous times. it just works if you follow the instructions right. and furthermore we can help with serious issues not helped before. just browse through the topic and most solutions are there already.

Dunno about that. Ever since 1.5 dropped, Camera Studio has not been compatible with Tiled Rendering, it seems the camera is no longer allowed to move about to capture the whole frame. Also it's been a month from 1.6.4, and still no release of Camera Studio. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll update it for 1.7.
How do you get cam studio to work with shaders and minema? I can't; forge spews out lots of jibberish
I've been having loads of trouble with the codec; it uses it but the file cannot be viewd (corrupt probably) do you think you can make a vid or type insrtuctions?

I was just wondering how to correctly install the video encoder. I've installed forge, optifine, and the mod itself fine. No issues, I can record using it and play. However, I want to install the video encoder too and was wondering where to place it. It says to put it in the .minecraft/bin but for the new launcher I can't find a bin folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Edit: Sorry, just read that you are supposed to make your own. Will try that
System/Software: Mac OSX Mavericks Minecraft 1.6.2 (Forge) (created in a separate directory/folder within the Minecraft folder) Minecraft Launcher 1.3.3
Problem:
Recordings consisted of .png screenshots. I created a bin folder within the minecraft directory and placed the ffmpeg file into it. But this did not help because I was playing on a profile created under a separate directory/folder.
Solution:
Placed the bin folder within the directory created for the 1.6.2 (Forge) profile.
I was able to record in-game successfully without frameskips/lag during the recording process. In my /movies folder, the .mp4 was generated along with an encorder.txt file that shows an error of the video.
encorder.txt error:
raw [info]: 1024x721p 0:0 @ 20/1 fps (cfr)
resize [error]: resolution 1024x721 is not compliant with colorspace i420
I'm using an old computer.
VC: NVIDIA GeForce 9400GT
VRAM: 1Gb
Display: 1024x768 32bit 60Hz
I tried editing the Minema.cfg to change the horizontal and vertical capture resolutions to match my display as well but it still didn't work.
I downloaded the 32bit 8bit-depth of the x264.nl
Any help?

I've tried both in fullscreen and windowed. My desktop resolution is set to 1024x768 32bit as well as MC's profile.
yeah it looks like you try to record in a smaller screen try to make the screen another size like 800x600 minema is not working well on windowed size that are not "official" sizes

Thanks it worked. Downside is, everything appears too large. Another question I have is how to lower the file size of the MP4 video output. My 10-second vid consumes 59Mb of disk space. Idk much about video compression and all
Sheesh, I wish I would have known this before I recorded a whole freaking cinematic. Thanks though!
well you could start with actually reading the OP.

edit: must be your illegal copy of vegas then...

great an unavailable video on youtube.
