Yeah I'm just Jonny from Skyler and Jonny (I bet you don't know what the hell it is) but please subscribe and I'll make a Gaming channel with Minecraft and JUST SUBSCRIBE wait Why am i still talking?
can we use voice? i could make let's plays with this.
If you checked much of the examples in the OP, Minema is a very specialized recording system. You're better off with a traditional recorder like Bandicam, Dxtory, Fraps, etc
Yes it is, if you check out my YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/RazorCraft0 you will see that all of my videos, except my very first video were recorded with this Mod using Minecraft version 1.6.2 with Optifine and Forge

With the extreme drop in fps to get better quality shots, I don't suggest making LP's, however if you have a better system it might work fine. As far as voice, unless I am missing something you will need to record audio with an editing program or something to overlay into the video.

I used Bandicam once. It is how I made my first YouTube video. Never again. Fraps won't even run. I have had a great experience with this mod for most of my stuff, albeit I will admit, full audio recording would be nice on some of my videos where complex parts could use better explaining than a screen caption. All in all, I cant complain, graphics record better, much, much, less skipping. Until tax time and I can afford a better system that can handle actual video recorders better, this is my number one choice.
HI when I hit F4 it records beautifully, however all it records are .png cannot seem to find a .mp4 anywhere.
In config file option is set to automatically detect encoders and I do have several programs that use h.264 mpg4 encoders....... camstudio works fine too.....help?

read the OP a little less fast. download the h264.exe place in bin folder (if not there make one it will work). this is out of the top of my head so might have missed something sorry if so.
i honestly can figure this mod out on mac, i have installed forge and i put the encoder into the bin folder (somewhere else for 1.6.4 maybe) i have made recordings in sp and mp, some come out corrupted and others just show black... please give me step by step instructions for mac.

You are correct, I did not spot the encoder until AFTER I posted my question.
I did indeed download the encoder, make a bin folder and put the .exe in it.
when I tried it with f4, it records and saves the .mp4. however when I play it back it is just a narrow stripe of dark fog down the middle of a empty black screen...

Did you record in full screen? Tried playing it within vlc ? I can't play the mp4 in wmp but I can in vlc for example.

Did recording in multiple ways.
None of my players or editing software including Vegas and After Effects would play it (trakaxpc played a corrupted version of it) however VLC does indeed play it and allows me to convert it to something that my other apps can play.
Hey guys I think I have a possible solution for the codec problem.
I've also been struggling to get my minema to render correctly again, it seemed as if VLC was always able to play the recorded video files but I could never use the scenes in Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas.
After reading up a bit on the x264 documentation I've noticed that minema uses the render settings "--qp 0" which is the Constant Quantizer mode or "lossless mode". After playing around a little with the settings I found an installation which works perfectly for me without using that constant quantizer mode, so here is the solution I can offer you to try for yourself:
1. Open the minema config file in .minecraft/config/ and look for the paragraph entitled as "#video".
2. Make sure you have the latest version of x264.exe in your .minecraft/bin folder
3. Find the line "I:encoder.mode=0" and change that value to 2.
4. Find the line that starts with "S:encoder.params=" and set the line to this
I have used to mod a few times, but the only thing I am having trouble with is the lag.
From the moment I hit F4 to record to the time when I stop I get 1-2 fps, I have tried using optifine with this and lowering settings, but it just doesn't seem to help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

are you really this retarded? you can not read? read the OP and watch the films. IT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS MOD! the point is that if your server or map lags BEFORE you record with this, the mod WILL COPY FRAME FOR FRAME AND MAKE IT A SEAMLESS UNLAGGED VIDEO.

That did the trick for me, hope it does it for you aswell.
