I know right I mean too many items was the 1st mod to update to 1.7.2 and this mod is the same thing except it lets you look at the recipes for the items and yet even the twilight forest mod updated
I have a problem with NEI when i start the world as survival it won't let me use Cheat mode.Any way to fix this?
MC version:1.6.4
NEI version:1.6.1.9
Code chicken core:0.9.0.9
Why don't I see all the widget icons top-left? No matter what I do, they don't appear. I appear to be stuck in normal, survival mode: http://imgur.com/a/GoCnJ
I'm having the same problem. If you find something out let me know!
Hey, it doesn't seem like many people are getting help here, but oh well. So im getting an error and it minecraft will crash randomly during the game giving me this error:
( And please people use spoilers for your damn errors..)
I don't believe NeI will be updated to 1.7.x, unless other 'modders' have been working on the Recipe Book Mod. chicken_bones, and possibly a few other modders, used another Mod, which has not been updated since 1.6.2, along with Too Many Items to produce Not Enough Items. So if they aren't working on the recipe mod, and the original creator isn't either, then NeI won't come out for 1.7.x.

Actually no, just a bunch of people who didn't read the FAQ and asked when 1.7 would be out
I've started at the last page, and worked back about 200 pages, not found my answer, sorry if I missed it.
I'm running NEI 1.6.1.9 but can't enable the Cheat Mode. The ingame buttons do Nothing at all.
I've changed the .cfg settings several times, and again, nothing happens.
How do I enable Cheat Mode? Also ALL the buttons that are normally down the left side are missing and I can't get those back either.
I've tried values ranging from -2 to 10 for both Inventory.cheatmode= and inventory.lockmode=
I've edited the files about 50 times trying to work it out, but nothing works. I'm permanently stuck in recipe mode with no utilities.
Whilst this doesn't bother me for main gameplay, makes testing ideas impossible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Missed information.
Forgot to mention. I'm using Minecraft 1.6.4 with Forge 9.11.1.965
I'm having the same issue as a few others - I cannot for the life of me get my utilities to show up (magnet and delete mode are what I have set to show). I've tried cheat and utility modes, nothing shows up. The top-left area is empty no matter what. I did update from 1.6.1.8 to 1.6.1.9 and that may have been when this happened. I can see my items on the right just fine. I've even deleted the config file "NEI" (but not NEIAddons/Server/Subset) thinking it'll fix it, no good.
Also, I've checked to see if I have my global/world settings all wonky, they are not. I have my global settings set as NEI Enabled, Util. mode, and the magnet and delete mod enabled. If I load an older map from the other day before I updated, everything is fine.
EDIT: Until this actually gets fixed, I have a workaround: Toggle with the button World/Global at the top in NEI's options, change it to World. In "World", you can right-click or click the W buttons to the left, I have to toggle each row on that has a utility that I'd be using, such as Creative or Magnet. If it was already lit, right click then left click again. When you back out, you should have the utilities you wanted.
Try one version older of NEI - this has helped one other that I know of on 1.5.x
I have tried 1.5.2.25 and I even found a version called 1.5.2.28 I tried to Find 1.5.2.26 but no luck When I tried 1.5.2.25 I got

I had decided to install three mods and knew I would need some form of Recipe mod. I had been watching CaptainSparklez's playthroughs and, after checking on the different types of mods, settled on Not Enough Items. I downloaded the most recent update and put it into my mods folder [I have 4 others that are currently working].
When I tried to run Minecraft, the launcher wouldn't start. I double-clicked the icon, it ran the test page, and the News page showed up. I clicked "Play" there and the loading bar appeared, filling slowly. The page disappeared once that finished, as if the game were launching. After a second or two, the page was back and nothing had changed.
I had the same issue with Tinker's Construct, but not Natura.
I am using minecraft-1.6.4 and i have tried to install NEI, but when i launch minecraft; it reopens the launcher. I read the developers console after launching minecraft and this was the error:
[17:44:02 INFO]: Client> java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
codechicken/core/launch/CodeChickenCorePlugin : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0
If you need to see the entire console let me know. From what I see, I have the wrong version of codechickencore. here are my mod verisons:
When googling this mod, i found a link to a site claiming to have NEI for minecraft 1.7.x and I wanted to make sure you knew about it. The site does not in fact have the mod, and instead tries to give the user an executable that is likely a virus. I will not post the link to the site here, because I don't want anyone who skims instead of actually reading to mistake this for a link to your mod. however it was minecraftdl dot com. Again, i spell it out to avoid anyone trying to go there. Not everyone has good antivirus/antimalware.
I am having the same problem, has anyone found a fix for this. I would prefer to no stop using NEI, but this problem is annoying
NEI does a lot more than just recipes

200 pages? Quite the exaggeration, but it doesn't matter. This is a problem with the newest version of either the core or NEI itself. I actually mentioned the temporary fix in this post, I discovered it soon after I had the problem: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/909223-164-smp-chickenbones-mods/page__st__17460#entry29547892 - I'll just paste it though. Check the EDIT part.
my NEI is stuck on recipe mode but i 100% set it up on cheat mode
edit:never mind it fixed, ignore this message
Author, you can add mode "ChickenChunks" with fuel like in RailCraft? It is very important for large servers.
