Here's a nifty idea... Have it drain your hunger more than normal, make you slower, and any food eaten only replenishes half the hunger of what it normally does. Then make the status (in the inventory menu, where "hunger" or "poison" would normally appear) say the scrambled text from the end credits. Make the time on it infinite while in a corrupted area, and the time around 10 minutes while not in the corrupted area. Golden apples still replenish normal amount of hunger and reverse the hunger effects the corruption causes for the duration of the regeneration.

In v1.4 I will have finally fixed it to actually make you go slower. Not sure what you mean by status and scrambled text. I don't like editing base classes as it provides conflicts with other mods.
v1.4 is coming much slower than other updates because I'm trying to figure out stuff that doesn't have tutorials on it and it will be the biggest update.

I had some ideas that could make it more entertaining :tongue.gif:
The blocks, imo, should defiantly damage you :biggrin.gif:, very slowly to stop you accessing an area.
Possibly also have stages of corruption?
So the blue-ish blocks could go dark blue after 3 days (or some other time), then purple, then black etc etc.
This would make them damage stronger, or go from the non-damaging blue-ish block to a slightly harmful dark blue etc etc.
Then from blue-> purple = 5 days and so on.
This would make a sort of evil virus epicenter that, if left to long, could be very hard to access and purify.
Lastly, it might be cool to accidentally speed up the spread of the virus so you actually have to run from it for a minute or so. I don't know how this could come about but maybe when stepping on a blue-ish virus block there is a small chance of that occurring. This could add hilarious moments in any video that shows this mod off when the player runs screaming away from a 'wave' of virus blocks.

Thanks for the suggestions I had been looking at doing damage but just doing damage is too generic. I want something more difficult. Anyway about your scare factor.....I have a plan its not an epicenter in a way but it WILL make you not want to step on the corruption ever again.

I have been using the mod for quite a while (few hours really) and the virus isn't as rare as I thought.
I found many areas already corrupted (not one block) without a pumpkin either.
I have also killed a pig and it infected the block, that was pretty cool :biggrin.gif:
My thoughts would be that the virus could be made 50% to even 75% more rare, turns out my home was over-run by 2 separate corrupted areas up a mountain in an hour, I love how it makes you move from place to place :L
As said before I will be doing a new series, just me and not the two other players that helped previously, with a few mods. (Huge trees are huge, Timber!, BigTrees, InvTweaks and THE VIRUS (possibly ExtraBiomes as well))
Obviously your virus mod will be a big feature!
Lastly I have found about 5 of the notch temple things in viewing distance of one another, is it possible to make them aas slightly less rare than strongholds?

The Notch Temples are "random" but sometimes that does mean semi-near each other. As for two appearing right next to each other I figured out how to fix that and did.(v1.4) The already corrupted areas are probably the corrupt Biome and/or monster dying in the sun and dropping the corruption(trollolol :smile.gif: ) If you are finding it spreads too fast try change the configuration file(see first post for more details)

Question: Can the virus spread under blocks? and can it infect glass? so will a glass dome be a smart thing to do?
It can spread under blocks. A glass dome would slow it be because the virus spreads up too its only a matter of time before it goes under then comes back up.
I didn't know there were corrupt biomes :DIf they were made alot more infrequent then I think the issue I posted above saying the speed of corruption should be slowed would be fixed :DThanks again!
The corrupt biomes seem to have certain worlds they like. Sometimes you get a world that rarely has any corrupt biomes on it and other times they are common.(Didn't do this on purpose but no clue how to fix it)
nvm bout the glitch it seems to have been sorted out in v1.3, the glitch was that when i used flame of notch in 1.2 it would make a copy of the purfied 5x5x5 roughly going southward but sometimes it would also delete blocks above or below for some reason but like i said its fixed now, just wanted to let you know :tongue.gif:
btw is it wrong the i only just installed the updated version and i already, through curiosity, discovered how to legit make the inferno of notch?
The glitch where it destroys blocks rather than purified seems to be system based. As I can not replicate it but I know its there, not clue how to fix it.
ok now the spiders are glitched, they dont attack or move or anything, they remain frozen in place llike statues, which is ironic since they are textured like statues, the only thing they will do is just make the noise.
on a side note, i like the creepers :biggrin.gif:

oh man i got an idea for the inferno of notch! i bet the secret crafting element is another holy ingot! the item has both the flint and the steel the same color so it is probably the holy ingot!
