On the client it generates the config in C:\Users\[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming for me
Also definitely looking forward to the 1.4 update!
that is what i mean but i didn't type it out. BUT IT YOU MUST BE SPECIFIC, C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\config.
i cant find the simpleores config.

Honestly I just copy and pasted the file path, but you missed part of what I said. It is not in the .minecraft folder, it is in the Roaming folder in a folder called config. So:
Hmm it's strange that your config isnt generating in the .minecraft/config/SimpleOres folder. Are you running it with MagicLauncher? Because when I run the mod normally (I don't use MagicLauncher) it generates in .minecraft/config/SimpleOres/config.txt

Actually it only generates there using a batch file to choose where the folder was generated for that client (I run multiple clients, but don't use a launcher). If I just use the minecraft.exe though it doesn't generate the config at all actually. Sorry to the guy I was trying to help earlier on that one.
This is with Forge #318.
Edit: If you're curious as to how I'm launching, I use this to launch the minecraft launcher:
@echo off
set APPDATA=%cd%
start javaw -Xms2048M -Xmx4096M -cp Minecraft.exe net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
exit
The update for Minecraft 1.4.2 is out for both SimpleOres and Netherrocks. Make sure to check out the changelog if you are interested. Also, SimpleOres now has over 100,000 downloads, so to say thank you I have begun work on another, third mod. I haven't done much yet, but the basis for the mod is down. It will basically expand on my old DownLights mod. You can check in the spoiler below for the list of things I plan for it to feature.
Thanks everyone!
Hanging lights - basically a re-skin and modification of the DownLights
Pole lights - like a street lamp kind of thing. Will see how this goes when I start making it
Wall lights - just a light that hang out of the wall. Fairly simple.
Bedside lamp - a little light you can put on any block (preferably blocks near beds ) that will look nice as a bedside lamp.
Tea-light candles - just a small candle you can place on blocks. Doesn't give out much light.
Candles - bigger candles that give out a larger amount of light. Can be placed on the wall (possibly only if there is a candle bracket on that wall)
Shelves
Trash can - like a bin that will destroy items when they are thrown into it. Don't know if this one will happen.
Sinks
Fireplaces - real fireplaces
Fire chimneys and chimney tops - so you can have a chimney on top of your house that isnt huge.
Standing lamps
Carpets
Stained glass
More flowers/pot plants
Possibly an old-style kettle
Well that's the list, nothing on there is actually finished, but that is pretty much my goal for these christmas holidays
Can you please change installation back to a drop into the "mods" folder?

Sorry about the bad format of the error report, I didn't know how to make it look nice, i just copy/pasted
Yeah don't worry about the format, that seems to be the error it gave for that bug. Try downloading the newest version (1.4.2.1) because that fixed that bug
You should consider maybe looking into making advanced anvils or the like, maybe made of mythril or adamantite. The anvil could have less chance of degrading maybe and cost less xp, or it could facilitate your idea for a block used to mix crafting materials.
I'm honestly a little skeptical about the material mixing since it somewhat takes away the vanilla feel of the mod, but that's not at all to say it can't and shouldn't be toyed around with it. Maybe having a special way to make alloys with the vanilla and mod ores could be a territory worth exploring, but I suppose that may also veer a bit from the vanilla feel.
Also, I would love to see if you could come up with more uses for the ores you add, like the copper buckets, as these increase their value somewhat, which in turn can make server economies more vibrant.
Otherwise I absolutely loves this mod. Keep up the great work.
I know these can be changed in the config but Forge does not catch the conflict so best if its changed in the mod.
EDIT: If you have this issue you can delete all the forge .cfg files in your minecraft/configs folder (I deleted all the mods .cfgs I had not edited) and let Forge and your mods redo theirs, this will remove any conflicts.
So I ran into an odd problem. My config files always generate on my desktop. Moved them to where the configs for everything else are, and it just generated it there again. How can I fix this so they go where they belong?

Mine does this too, has to be a wrong path in the mod code. Maybe a config option will be added so we can tell it where to look and manually move it, or a new version will put it in the minecraft/config folder where it belongs.

That's really strange. How are you installing it? In the .jar like normal? You're not using MagicLauncher are you? Lots of people seem to say their config isn't generating in the right location, but I have never been able to replicated this. Mine ALWAYS generates in .minecraft\config\SimpleOres. Strange, and I can't think of why yours would generate elsewhere.
If you could tell me if you are using any kind of version manager (MagicLauncher, or a .bat file, etc), or if you are running on a Mac or something, that would be awesome. This issue has been present for a long time, but like I said, I have never been able to pinpoint what actually causes it, as mine generates fine.

I have a problem. I install the mod for my client and on my server. When I play singleplayer the mod works great. But when I start my server and try to log in. An massage pops out the says : Forge Mod Loader can not find SimpleOres Mod and this mod is needed to play on the server (or something like this). Please help !
Going to try and reproduce this now. It could be a problem with the code. The multiplayer version is prone to screw ups, due to Mojang changing it so much.

Yes, Forge only.
Oops, so they do. That's unusual. Will look at it.
EDIT: Yeah found it. Will re-upload, so everyone will have to redownload it. I won't bother changing the version though.

Hmm it would seem you have found a bug. I have been able to replicate it, so I'm looking into it now.
EDIT: Fixed. Uploading now. Will be Version 1.4.2.1.
