You gotta put it in the .jar like you did modloader, since it edits base classes
anyways, may i ask why you don't use forge's ore dictionary? i am using this with IC2, and due to you not using this, i can't use the copper from this mod with IC2 and vice versa, but if you did, i could.
Wait. Didn't the maker of this mod just say the Forge version didn't edit base classes?
Forge edits base classes, this mod does not..... OH SORRY i misread "do i install forge mods by" as "do i install forge by", i thought you were asking how to install forge
Whatever! I can just re-download them.
Thanks for the help and the mod!!!!
Simply because I don't know how to use it :S I tried, but was unable to get it to work. If anyone could explain to me how to actually use it that would be great.
Space toad or el should know, as well as albalka, I can't code at all, so i don't know personally.
Hmm all right. I'll look into it again. Thankyou
Ever.
I love more stuff. More things to build, more things to mine, more things to use to impale my enemies upon a large iron spike as an example of what happens to those who cross my path...
But mostly, because bashing in a zombie's face with a Mythril shovel just seems like it ought to win some kind of survivalist award or something.
And Forge's Ore Dictionary support? Even better news still.
Can't hardly wait.
Also, this may be a lot to ask, but I've seen dozens of ore mods that are not compatible with texture packs. Maybe you could have it superimpose the ore pattern on the current texture pack's stone and netherrack textures.
for the more nether, check netherock, which adds some nether stuff, as well as the fact that he is personally supporting some texture packs, as well as fan made ones.
You probably clicked download from adf.ly instead of skip ad....
Tip. Whenever you use an adf.ly link, WAIT FOR THE TOP RIGHT SO YOU CAN CLICK ON "Skip ad" there. Do NOT click on anything else.
Oh, AleXndr, I love this mod. It feels like there's something missing, that stroke of brilliance, that originality. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this mod, it's my favourite ores mod. But it's missing something. In the more well-known Uranium Mod, it was the nuclear reactor and its mechanics, and the Paxel. In the Extended Workbench, it's the idea of an extended workbench and the recipes. In the Lavender Dust, it's the concept of making the two most useless ores incredibly useful.
But when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, what this truly is is an ore mod. Sure, the copper buckets are interesting, but what this is is ... another ore mod.
Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favourite mods. Oh, and in the Nether, what's the ideal height to find Onyx?
The onyx, along with any ores added in Netherrocks, can be found at any height in the nether.
As for what you think feels is missing, I will tell you that the thing this mod has over the majority of other ore mods is balance and simplicity. Minecraft just feels WRONG with 15 extra ores. Just adding 5 adds a lot more variation, yet doesn't detract from the feel of vanilla Minecraft. While it isn't perfect, this mod is getting towards being very balanced, as I'm always tweaking and adjusting things, from spawn rate to tool speed to armour strength.
You say Uranium mod had nuclear reactors, and the Extended Workbench had extended recipes. Well like all mod's, SimpleOres has variation. What it does have that many mod's don't, is Simplicity with that variation. SimpleOres adds a large amount of items when you count then all up, yet it still feels like Minecraft. When you use SimpleOres, you know what you are doing, you know it follows Minecraft's system. It may not branch out a lot and completely alter Minecraft in a completely unique way, but the fact of it is that this mod was designed to go hand in hand with vanilla Minecraft. Ideally, this mod is best used without any other content mods (excluding Netherrocks, but they still don't interact seamlessly, as Netherrocks still needs tweaking.)
Overall, what you may feel is missing from SimpleOres is in fact there. What SimpleOres offers is a decent amount of content that you can access without feeling like you are detracting from the feel of vanilla Minecraft. I know not all user's enjoy playing vanilla Minecraft, but this mod was always intended to be simple and to still feel vanilla.
Yes, it is just another ore mod. But no, it's not overly original. It was my first decent mod, originally intended for my own use, but I realised that if I felt Minecraft could use a few more nicely balanced ores, then so might others. And so it was released, under the name SimpleOres, and I have tried to stay true to that title, as it is what makes this mod what it is, in my opinion. Simple isn't just in the title, it is in the mod, and I try my best to follow that.
Thank you for using the mod though. I am glad you like it, but I apologise for you feeling like it is missing something.
