Yup. If I don't delete the META-INF I get black screen, if I do delete it I get a frozen Mojang Screen. I am almost certain I am following the instructions correctly, and have repeated them so many times I don't know what it is I am doing wrong or if there is something going on with Macs or my computer specifically.
Make sure you start on a clean minecraft.jar (ie. no other mods installed)
And install them in this order:
Modloader
Modloader MP
Audio Mod
PlayerAPI
ShockAhPI
Aether
Make sure you download the mods from the links in the first post.

Exactly what I've done. And all Resource files for Aether go into the Resource Folder in my Bin. I re-zip every file and rename it to .jar ... super confused as to what I'm doing wrong. And everytime I've done it I've started from a fresh install of the game and jar.

The resources folder goes into the .minecraft directory, not the bin folder, and definitely not the minecraft.jar. No zipping is necessary.
All the files in "Jar" copy into your minecraft.jar.
Copy the resources folder into your .minecraft folder, or copy the contents into .minecraft/resources/ (Create the folder if it's not there). It doesn't matter, they're both the same.
The Aether doesn't currently support multiplayer. However, the inclusion of ModLoaderMP may be a sign of upcoming changes.
Much more likely that ModLoaderMP is required because Aether includes some version of the Minecraft Forge API, which requires ModLoaderMP to run. This mod will likely never be available for SMP.

Ah, I stand corrected. I'm not very familiar with Forge so I'll take your word for it.

Ooops. Yeah, you are correct, I've been putting them in minecraft/resources/ ...not the bin.
I have to re-zip the jar because I have to open up the package to copy the files into, is there a better way of doing this? I am using the archive utility on Mac. I also tried downloading BetterZip, and that would open the Jar without unzipping but took forever (for somereason "replace all" wouldn't work and I would have to click to replace each file individually and it ended in the same result, frozen Mojang :sad.gif:
Just tried to install the core mods again, started w/ a clean jar and went in the order you listed. Started up Minecraft, and got a game going no problem but the music and audio bar are all the way down and when I click on one of the bars I get a "Saving Chunks" screen and my game freezes. Not sure what is going on with that and if I should even move on to installing the Aether because it seems like something is going wrong before Aether even gets introduced.

Hmm. I use 7zip personally. You can open the archive and drag files into it. I don't know if it's on Mac though. I suppose that could be a problem with AudioMod or something. I'm not familiar with installing mods on Macs, so sorry I can't provide more help.

Ah. Yeah, I thought it might be something with audiomod as well, I remember the sound thing happened awhile back when I tried Aether on 1.3 ... thanks for your help, installing things on macs can be a pain, hopefully I will figure it out soon. :smile.gif:

i have reinstalled them at leats 3 times. im just going to give up. =(
How do i get this mod to work with HD textures (e.g Dokucraft) When I try and install optifine, Minecraft blackscreens. When I try to use MC Patcher, the patching effect deletes all the mod files.

First, thank you for the wonderful MOD!
Would you reobfuscate Aether with the latest MCP, please?
It will compete with other MODs, because "World.spawnEntityInWorld" is not reobfuscated.
